"I don’t know why you are here, but please, we conduct serious business here. If you came here to joke around and waste my time, I suggest you find somewhere else."

Violet furrowed her brows in surprise at his words. She was puzzled because she didn’t know what she said that was wrong.

"Do you think we have the luxury of time to come over here to joke?" Jen asked, annoyed by his words. "If you don’t want to sell, say so—we will leave. Do not be rude." She matched the same intensity of the man.

She would have continued, but Violet stopped her. After thinking briefly about it, she understood why the man spoke in such a manner. The quantity of the things she ordered was too much, and she was certain he had never gotten such an order before.

So she decided to show him she was serious by paying for the things she bought. She decided to pay for the various varieties of rice first.

"How much does a ton of rice cost?"

"Why are you asking? Even if you are rich, it is not an amount you can handle."

"And if I pay, what would I get in return?"

The man let out a mocking laugh. He shook his head and crossed his arms over his chest. Since she wanted some entertainment, he would give her that—maybe after she had successfully embarrassed herself, she would leave.

"The price for each rice varies, however, none is less than thirty thousand, so twenty tons would cost over six Hundred thousand. If you multiply it by the eight types of rice you requested, we have roughly four million eight hundred thousand." Even to him, the amount felt surreal.

Violet kept a calm and completely neutral expression, and she listened to him keenly.

"If you give me the money, then for the next things you buy, I’ll give you 35% off. How about that?" He lifted his eyes. "Do you dare accept the deal?"

Violet simply shrugged her shoulders and opened the bank app on her phone.

"No need to pretend like you are making the transfer. If you leave now, your dignity would still be intact."

"Why are you in a hurry? Stay quiet and allow her to do what she wants to do." Jen quickly shut him up. She may not have spent a long time with Violet, but from what she had observed over the past few days, Violet didn’t start anything she couldn’t complete. "Don’t even think of pulling out of this deal."

Violet asked for his account number, and once she got it, she wired the entire amount into it without a second thought.

"Done. You can check." She said.

The man’s phone pinged, and he brought it out from his pocket. The arrogant look came off his face when he saw the alert. His eyes widened, and he let out a sharp gasp.

He slowly raised his head to stare at Violet. "Now, 35% off the other goods—what will that be?" She asked.

The man’s lips parted, but no words came out. He had greatly underestimated her. His knees felt weak. He wasn’t the one that sent the money, but he was shaken. How the hell did she stay unbothered and completely detached?

When Violet drew her brows together, he got himself together and quickly cleared his throat. He brought out his calculator and immediately began to do the math.

Even though he had given her 35% off, he was still going to make a lot of profit because she was buying a huge quantity at once.

After calculating the money, he scratched the back of his neck as he stared at the woman. He didn’t know how to tell her that he didn’t have the quantity she wanted in his storehouse.

Violet noticed his expression had changed to one of deep concern.

She reasoned that something might be wrong. "Speak. Is there a problem?"

"Hmm, the thing is that I don’t have the exact quantity you want. The product in my storehouse will not be enough. However, I can get them in a matter of days, if you be gracious enough to be patient." He pleaded, his arrogant tone now replaced with a soft one.

"Why should we do that? You were quick to look down on us earlier, and now you want us to be gracious." Jen spoke harshly. She couldn’t let the fact that he looked down on her boss go easily.

"I’m deeply ashamed of my actions. I was just a bit surprised. I don’t get customers like you daily."

Seeing that the man was quick to put aside his pride and ask for forgiveness, Jen let the matter slide and looked over to Violet. "Ma’am, what should we do? If you can’t wait, I know another shop with better customer service that will give us the quantity we need."

Violet simply shook her head. Since she had already made payment, there was no need to leave. Besides, the apocalypse was still months away, so she had sufficient time. "We’ll give him three days. He should be able to provide them by then."

The man pressed his palms together, beaming. "Of course. I’ll have them ready."

"I’ll send my logistics to come pick the ones you have now." Violet said. Jen had already taken a few steps away from her and was currently contacting the truck drivers.

"Alright. Thank you so much."

"Ma’am, they will be here in twenty minutes." The truck drivers had left thirty minutes after them, which was why they were still behind.

Violet was about to leave when the man asked, "I know this may seem out of place, but I am curious—what are you buying so much for?"

Violet stared at the sharp line between his brows. The man would call her a madwoman if she told him the world was ending. So she didn’t speak; she simply pressed her lips together, staring at him with a pitiful gaze.

"We’re opening a shop in another place." Jen replied, and then they left the shop.

They weren’t done shopping. Violet reviewed her list. There was still a lot of things to buy.

She stole a quick look at her wristwatch. It was just 10 AM in the morning, which meant she still had 5 hours before she went to survey the site for the project.
