By the time they finally returned to the estate, the sky had long dissolved into a deep, bruised violet.

April’s body felt incredibly stiff. Flying a helicopter—even just managing the co-pilot console and keeping track of the rapid system gauges alongside Xavier—had taken a completely different kind of physical toll than the Jeep.

Safely back in her bedroom, she pulled a small vial of revitalization spring water from her spatial dimension and took a long, clean sip.

As the soothing, cool energy instantly rushed through her veins, dissolving the ache in her shoulders, she couldn’t help but think to herself, I’m so glad I stocked up on so much of this water. I don’t even have to worry about sipping it like tea.

She collapsed onto her back, staring lazily up at the high ceiling.

All things considered, everything was working out incredibly well. She had secured her hillside fortress, she was continuously hoarding massive amounts of resources thanks to Samuel’s efficient coordination, and she was quickly mastering new survival skills.

Driving on land and flying in the skies.

She turned onto her side, looking at the plush blankets of the large bed. It truly felt like a dream she couldn’t wake up from. A great, impossible dream compared to the hell she had left behind.

Knock. Knock.

"Ma’am?" The voice of the head maid drifted politely through the heavy door, breaking her chain of thought. April lifted her head from the mattress, blinking. "There are a few dozen crates that were delivered by Mr. Nat Collins the other day. We were instructed to remind you about them tonight."

April blinked, the fog clearing from her mind. Ah, right, she whispered to herself, sitting up smoothly. The ammunition.

Nat had mentioned back at the shooting range that he was sending over a ’substantial’ supply, but she hadn’t given it too much thought at the time. If it was a few dozen crates, she figured she would simply never have to worry about running out of bullets.

But when she actually descended to the side garage and saw what was waiting for her, her jaw nearly dropped.

This wasn’t just a regular shipment of extra ammunition. The back of the garage had been entirely overtaken by a towering, military-grade gridlock of steel-reinforced cargo boxes.

Sitting on top of the crates were rows of sleek, heavy assault rifles—long, terrifying weapons with thin, lethal barrels that looked fresh off a factory line—and beneath them lay several hundred industrial crates entirely packed to the brim with fully loaded bullet belts and magazines.

April stood frozen in the center of the concrete floor, her mouth dropped. This man... Is he really trying to prepare me for the apocalypse, or is he simply using me to smuggle an entire faction’s warlike arsenal?

It was utterly insane.

As she walked closer, her eyes caught two specific, reinforced titanium lockboxes sitting directly in the center of the display. Stenciled across the lids in sharp, black block letters was the name: GABRIEL.

She realized that those two specific boxes contained the specialized, custom-caliber rounds designed exclusively for the rare Gabriel handgun series Nat had gifted her before.

"Ah... I don’t know whether to thank him or be wary," she muttered to herself, her voice a low whisper.

Her fingers were slightly trembling as she reached out to touch the cold steel of a rifle chassis, but she wasn’t shaking out of fear. It was sheer, unadulterated excitement.

These were the exact, high-tier military weapons that had absolutely terrorized the lands and ruled over the factions in her past life.

Back then, people would have slaughtered entire communities just to get their hands on a single crate of this caliber. Now, hundreds of them were sitting right in front of her, completely at her disposal. She could use them however she wanted.

It didn’t even matter if she never went down into the active battlefield herself; just having this level of overwhelming firepower under her roof was more than enough to guarantee absolute safety.

Bzzzt.

The sudden vibration of her Titanium Pro phone cut through the quiet garage.

April pulled the phone from her pocket and looked at the screen. As if Nat perfectly possessed some bizarre, sixth-sense timing and knew exactly the minute her eyes had landed on his ’present,’ a text message from his encrypted number popped up.

Nat: Use them lots, sweetheart. Those are my precious babies, straight out of my very own pocket.

April stared at the glowing text, her brow twitching. Right. His pocket.

The exact same pocket he had shamelessly claimed he wanted to tuck her into during their first meeting. If this terrifying, illegal mountain of weapons was what he considered his ’precious babies,’ then his pocket was definitely nothing more than a heavily armed safehouse for his most lethal valuables.

She clutched the phone tight, her thumb rapidly tapping against the screen as she typed back a flat, irritated reply.

April: Stop spying on me.

She sent the text and let out a soft sigh, watching the status update to ’delivered’ on her screen. Slipping her Titanium Pro back into her pocket, she stepped closer to the massive wall of military-grade cargo.

With a single, focused thought, she initiated her spatial dimension’s retrieval system.

Intake.

In an instant, the heavy, towering metal crates, the sleek assault rifles, and the specialized Gabriel ammunition boxes vanished from the concrete floor without a sound.

The space they had occupied was left entirely empty, not even a speck of dust remaining where the massive arsenal had stood just a second before.

With the weaponry safely locked away in her timeless spatial dimension, April turned on her heel.

The weight of the day’s flight lessons was finally catching up to her, and the comfort of her bed was calling.

She walked out of the garage, the heavy security door clicking shut behind her, and headed back into the quiet villa to finally catch up on some much-needed sleep.
