Chapter 907: A Seer
"You really don’t know how to turn a blind eye to some things." Bai Meiyue was speechless when she heard that Meng Suisui was going to help the women; she did not know what to do.
Meng Suisui smiled with a hint of sadness. "What can I do? I could not help my sister; the least I can do is help those women who are willing to help themselves." Meng Suisui still felt sorry about what happened to Meng Anzhi. If only her cousin were willing to listen to her, then she too could have lived a good and respectable life, where she would be able to live a good life. However, her cousin was such a brat. She did not understand how important it was for a woman to stand on her own feet.
Bai Meiyue rolled her eyes. She wanted to say that there was no point in helping those people. After all, even if she helped these women, it wouldn’t mean that she had helped Meng Anzhi. But Bai Meiyue did not say anything because she knew that there was some survivor’s guilt buried deep in Meng Suisui’s heart. By helping these women, she was trying to ease the guilt in her heart.
"I will go with you." Bai Meiyue also wanted to take a look at these survivors. After all, she had not paid any attention to these survivors. She also wanted to see what was going on with these survivors.
Meng Suisui eyed Bai Meiyue. She was worried that the woman would end up sending these survivors away.
Maybe her expression was way too vivid because Bai Meiyue looked at her with a hint of annoyance in her eyes. "There is no need to look at me like that; I am not going to chase those people away."
Did she look like someone who would chase away someone who was doing no harm to her? These people had done nothing against her and her son; since that was the case, why should she chase them away?
Meng Suisui stared at her for a while. It was only when she was sure that the woman was not going to chase those survivors away that she agreed to let Bai Meiyue follow her.
The two women walked toward the entrance of the safe base, where Meng Suisui told Bai Meiyue all about the survivors. "Most of the survivors are still commoners, but a few of them have awakened." She paused and added, "There is also Wang Fugui. He awakened the ability to see the future. Actually, he was the one who asked you to come and see him; he cannot stay put. Some time ago, he ended up getting a really bad headache and ended up fainting. Because he could not find a way to solve this issue, he asked me to bring you with me."
"So, why didn’t you call me?" She would have been happier to get out of the mansion. These days she was getting bored being cooped up in the room. If Meng Suisui had come looking for her, then she would have gotten a chance to come out of the house.
"I was worried that you would be upset." Meng Suisui was also speechless when she saw Bai Meiyue looking at her with a blaming look in her eyes. What was this woman thinking? She could not understand her sometimes.
The reason she did not bring Bai Meiyue out with her was that she was worried that Bai Meiyue would blame her, but now she was still blaming her. What was this? She was going to be wronged to death.
"Let’s go." Bai Meiyue had never seen a seer before and thus was quite excited.
Seeing her rush, Meng Suisui was even more speechless. This was the first time she had seen Bai Meiyue so excited. The only time she was more excited than this was when she gave birth to Bai Lei Cai.
"You are here." Wang Fugui turned to look at Bai Meiyue and Meng Suisui even before the two of them entered the tent where he lived. "I saw you two coming just now."
When Bai Meiyue saw Wang Fugui, she had to admit that she was quite shocked. The man looked like he had been cursed; there were nerves sticking out of his forehead, as if his brain was working four times harder, which it was. His eyes were glass-like and no longer black like they were before. It was terrifying to look at him. It was no wonder that he was staying inside and only allowing a few people to come and meet with him.
As if noticing Bai Meiyue’s gaze, he immediately closed his eyes. "I am sorry; I was trying to make some tea for myself and ended up opening my eyes. If I had known that you two would come so soon, then I would have kept my eyes closed." He could see the future, but he could not see when it was going to happen just yet. It was like seeing a few fragments of what was going to happen.
Because he could see a bunch of things simultaneously, he had to keep his eyes closed.
"It seems like you are having a hard time." Bai Meiyue stared at the man who was walking with his eyes closed. It seemed like he was having quite a trouble while walking around.
"Indeed." Wang Fugui smiled with a troubled expression. "Even if I open my eyes, I can only see a little before all sorts of visions start appearing in front of my eyes. There is nothing that I can do." He was worried a little bit because nothing seemed to be working for him. Only when he closed his eyes could he get some peace. But closing his eyes meant that he couldn’t see around himself, along with the vision. This was something that was causing him trouble.
He sighed and questioned, "Miss Bai, if you don’t mind... can you come up with a way to help me out?"
