As they entered the Weisheng Group’s compound, everyone’s eyes were watchful, eyeing Bu A and her group.

Before Doomsday, Weisheng Group already had a competitive relationship with Jinmu Group, and even more so after. If it weren’t for the alliance with Huangle Group, it was highly likely they would have been annexed by Jinmu Group.

Seeing their defensive stance against her group, Bu A felt a slight anxiety grow within her; she worried that Weisheng Group’s leader might lack the vision for cooperation with her.

If that were the case, things would get problematic.

On one hand, there was the death order from Director Gao, and on the other, a strained relationship with Weisheng Group.

The difficulty in persuasion was quite high.

Soon, Bu A followed the goatee man into a room.

The room was filled with smoke, and at the center sat a shirtless man, with a woman attending to him on each side.

"Boss, they are here," the goatee man said, bowing and addressing David, who sat in the center.

David didn’t respond, merely waving his hand.

The goatee man saw the boss’s signal and turned to leave.

Inside the room, besides David, were four strong men armed with guns, watching Bu A’s group alertly.

These four men were David’s personal bodyguards, following him wherever he went, and they were quite formidable.

Silence.

After letting the goatee man out, David started caressing the chest of the woman on his right, enjoying a temple massage from the other, slightly closing his eyes, as if he didn’t regard Bu A and her group at all.

Bu A bit her lip and took the initiative to speak:

"Director David, I’m sent by Director Gao of Jinmu Group. There’s an urgent matter at hand, concerning all our lives.

Recently, we all dispatched personnel to the north, but just yesterday, we received news in the evening that a military force appeared there and wiped out all our outposts.

According to reliable information, that troops have aircraft, well-organized teams, and even infantry fighting vehicles."

"Director Gao believes that this military force might head south, which would likely cause trouble for us."

"So, Director Gao asked me to bring you a message, hoping you would put aside past grievances and cooperate with us to weather the storm! Otherwise, we might all be wiped out by that force!"

Bu A finished speaking in one breath, then looked at David nervously.

To secure cooperation with Weisheng Group, Bu A had exaggerated the strength of the troops to grab David’s attention.

However.

After she finished speaking, David, sitting in the center, didn’t even acknowledge her.

Instead, he frowned and said to the woman behind him, "Too light, add more pressure."

The woman wearing nothing but a few scraps of cloth slightly trembled as her hands gradually applied more force.

Smack!

Suddenly, David opened his eyes and slapped the woman behind him to the ground.

He angrily said, "Who told you to use that much force, don’t you know to gradually increase the pressure? Get out of here!"

The woman, upon hearing she was merely told to leave, felt a huge relief, scrambled up in a hurry, inadvertently exposing herself, but the surrounding bodyguards dared not look.

Once she left, David opened his mouth, and the remaining woman quickly inserted a straw into the cup of water, placing it into his mouth.

David drank a couple of sips, Gudong Gudong, before lifting his head to look at Bu A.

Bu A had silently cursed inside. This charade was clearly for their benefit, a warning to others.

Damn it!

Despite that, to fulfill Director Gao’s directive, she still wore a smile as she looked at David.

David glanced at Bu A with some disdain.

Her skinny, dark, short frame wasn’t pleasing to the eye.

He said, "What did you just say again, repeat it for me to hear."

Damn...

Sometimes it really makes you want to kill someone.

She had just explained so much, and you didn’t catch a word of it?

Impossible.

He was definitely doing this to mess with her.

Silently she raged inside, thinking if only he dared to speak this way to Director Gao.

Despite the torrent of grievances in her heart and the urge to storm out that door, reason dictated she stayed calm, absolutely calm.

Then, Bu A patiently repeated what she had just said.

After David listened, he gave her a glance and spoke:

"Do you have any evidence? Could it be your Jinmu Group eliminated our people and took our supplies, using this as an excuse? After all, you previously said you wanted to cooperate with Emperor Group, but ended up annexing them."

Bu A’s face reddened, black turning to red.

But she anticipated David would question this when she came.

So she began, "That’s not the case. This time, our cooperation, as stated by Director Gao, is merely to jointly fend off the approaching military force.

The consensus we reach, just by discussing with you, is to exchange information so that we may combine all our resources to repel them once they are detected.

Our compounds are so close; if you fall, we would be next. The principle of mutual destruction, I’m confident you understand, Director David."

Bu A still patiently responded, thinking surely this would sway Director David into alliance to face the common enemy.

However, David’s reaction was beyond her expectation.
