Ascendance of a Bookworm

Rutz's Education Plan

While I was gobbling in bed, the fever came up, as Lutz predicted. It's a fever that comes from tiredness, and the whole body is just weak because it's about slight heat. It's not like the fever of eating you're about to get eaten, so if you were quiet, it would heal eventually.

I thought so for 3 days.

I get annoyed by the fever that doesn't go down, but when I leave the bed on my own, I get scolded, so I just have to stay in bed, even if I sleep too much.

... Ahhhh, free time.

It's pig dismantling day. Unlike last year, the family went out early in the morning, seemingly gaining credibility to the extent of letting them leave alone this year.

He puts water in a sandwich that can be eaten at lunch and a cup for the whole family, and he keeps it in his bedroom, so it doesn't look like he'll be too hungry to do anything about it, or his throat will dry to a crisp.

In the room I'm in for a scene, I can move if I want to, but I know the heat just prolongs, so I just have to be quiet in bed. But I don't have anyone to talk to, so I'm free, free, I can't help it.

I wish I had a book......

I have returned with a fair amount of paper from my failures, but still untouched, just carefully stacked and packed in the bottom of a crate containing my clothes. Sometimes after the prototype was ready, I was busy, and the first book I would like to make in a temper.

Above all, because it is a piece of paper for failure, the quality is fragmented and the size is fragmented. Some paper is almost as close to success as others are like pieces of billy worn out with total failure. Some paper is thin enough to be seen over there and scared to touch it, while others are hard enough to crack if you put too much effort into it.

Almost successful paper that just depends on when I stick it up is still easy to use, but paper that fails to peel off after drying and has a big hole is surprisingly difficult to cut only the usable part unless I can use the knife a little better. I want a sharp cut blade that is easy to handle like a thin, small cutter.

I think we need time to face each other carefully in order to make a book out of such paper. I think I'll have a very full time this winter.

... Ah! Speaking of which, I don't have a book, but you had Mr. Benno's board.

I remembered that there was a board Benno told me to "look through when I get home" before I had a fever. You'll be fine enough to stay asleep in bed and read this.

I also rose up sleigh, and when I opened the lid of the crate containing my clothes, I removed the large plate about size A4 from the tote bag.

I'm going to read it all while I sleep in bed.

"… this is the curriculum for rookie education"

That was where it was decided to teach the newly entered apprenticeship at least this much. This is more or less the case when you roughly divide what's written.

Being in shape and being able to say hello.

Being able to write all the basic letters and numbers.

That the calculator is available.

That the gold account can be done to some extent.

Remembering the products you are dealing with.

Remembering the name of the supplier entering or leaving.

"Um, I wonder if the two of us can study during the winter months with letters, calculations and gold accounts. The item below is during rookie education, which we all will remember, so I think we can put it behind us..."

As I speak to myself, I plan my winter studies.

Now, how much will Lutz remember the basic letters and numbers? Even if you tell me, it's something I forget if I don't use it. Confirm that and tell me again what you forgot.

Instead of example sentences, what about teaching you how to write a purchase order or appointment form for a meeting? It's just a word I use even when I get to work, so it won't hurt to remember.

Blah, I only know a lot of working words, too, don't I? I think I've learned quite a few words about my job because here, I don't have a dictionary, and it's Otto and Benno and Marc, the merchants, who wanted to train me for the budget. But I don't know the general noun or verb.

"I know how to use the calculator, if it's addition and deduction, but I don't know how to multiply and deduction until I ask Marc..."

If you calculate with stone slabs, you can calculate, but I also have to be able to use the calculator. Better to be as good as everyone else so that evil doesn't stand out among apprentices.

"I'd like to teach Lutz about a year or three of arithmetic for elementary school, no textbooks, no problem sets. Then teaching can be tough. As a matter of priority, it is best to be able to convert the number and the larger number into money, so that the addition and deduction of a single digit is thorough. Then, just the concept of multiplication and allocation... can't we just do it during the winter?"

Exactly, even if you narrow down the content to just numbers, you can't do everything you spend three years doing during the winter.

Ha, and when I sighed, I felt the heat was terrible in the back of my body. To the feeling of pressuring me to come out, I put my strength around my temples and devour my teeth.

Don't come out, it's not for you.

Push in with the image of a tight lid and exhale.

Not so long ago, but I got hungry because of the fever of eating and the pressing. I think about myself and my greetings as I bite the sandwich my family left me in a baffling bite to my hand, chewing muggles.

"This is the biggest problem. Being in shape and being able to say hello. We don't know to what extent we're getting ready, whether there's a unique greeting or rhetoric from a merchant."

You have to buy clothes to work, if you look at the people working in Benno's shop and on the third floor of the commercial guild.

I have to check with Benno to see what the hell the price of that garment is.

And when it comes to greetings, I want you to tell me too. I know I don't say hello with my head down here, but I don't know how to say hello correctly. I'm just smiling and misleading at the first person I meet.

But I don't think neither Benno nor the guild chief had a distinctive greeting to say about this.

When I saw the board I borrowed from Benno, it seemed like I was trying to figure it out, and the next time I woke up, my family was coming home and carrying the pork processed products I had made today into the winter support room.

"Welcome back"

"I'm home. You're awake? How's the fever?

"... maybe, down"

It was a lot neater when I woke up, so the fever should have gone down. Tomorrow, maybe for the sake of seeing how things go, we'll be spending the day in the house, but we'll be able to move the day after tomorrow.

The next day, Rutz, who apparently was planning to go to the woods, came to see me dressed as I was going out with a cage on my back. It's a day when the fever is dropping but you have to stay in bed, so I'm so glad that as far as I'm concerned I could have talked to you for just a little while.

"Oh, Mine. You said the fever went down? That's what I was saying when I met Tulli downstairs earlier."

"Yeah, I dropped it last night. I'm going to be able to move tomorrow."

"Oh well. It's been a long time since I've had a fever, so I'm worried."

He didn't have a fever that lasted for days in a while, so he seemed pretty worried about his family and Rutz.

Mine wasn't able to participate in pork processing this year.

"Oh, I can't help it this season."

I'm getting somewhat used to dismantling butchers and bird meat, but I'm still like a family "Okay, I'll do it. It's a yearly pleasure," I don't think I want to participate. I'm so lucky I ended up sleeping with a fever.

"I saw the board that Mr. Benno lent me yesterday and I had a study plan. I'd like to go to Mr. Benno's tomorrow and talk to him about returning this board and if he can buy a calculator."

"... Speaking of which, what board was it?

Lutz strikes his hand like he remembers the existence of a board borrowed from Benno and embarks on himself. Totally listening.

"It was about apprenticeship education. How long does Rutz remember letters and numbers?

"I remember everything you taught me, though?

Tilting my little neck as a matter of course, I opened my eyes a little bit, although Lutz answered but didn't think I could remember it all.

"Huh? Really!? You don't usually use it, but you haven't forgotten!?

"... I, you know, I rarely know what you can tell me, so I don't want to forget what I remembered because of it, and I've been practicing on stone boards since I bought them, writing them with my fingers on the ground and on the walls"

"Lutz, wow!

Lutz was a harder worker than expected. No, it was normal to be educated, and it was normal to get as much information as I wanted. Is my thinking too sweet?

I've never thought I didn't want to forget what I remember because of it. If you forget, you can read the book again. If I remember what book it was written in, I always got the information I wanted. There was no need to memorize everything.

"It's amazing. Mine would be better off reading all the big numbers."

"Well, I'll teach you how to read big numbers. Take the tablet."

One, ten, a hundred, a thousand, ten thousand… and teach a growing unit. Until about a hundred, they used it in the market, so it was easy to read, but they didn't know after that.

As I pressed the tablet, counting the positions, Lutz came together, and began to count. After practicing reading about several times, I write appropriate numbers on the tablet.

"Well, it's a problem. If it's 78,946,215, how would you read it?

"Uh, one, ten, a hundred, a thousand, a hundred, a million, a million..."

Rutz, who takes it with a pretty serious face, quickly became readable to about ten million places. Do you have a difference in concentration or memory? Lutz's specs are higher than expected. I think I'm going to be pretty helpful in my winter studies.

If I were smart, I'd be completely out of elements to beat Lutz, right?

Slightly depressed inside, Touri, who had drawn water and came up, found Rutz, shouting out loud.

"That, Lutz!? Weren't you going to the woods? Guys, we're leaving!?

"Ugh! Bad, Mine. I'm coming. Thanks for letting me know."

Lutz gets up in a hurry and runs out. If Rutz's running speed, he should be able to catch up with everyone by the time he gets to the gate.

The next day, my family also gave me permission to go out, so I headed to Benno's store with Lutz in the afternoon where I could afford Benno.

The store was closed with doors for entry and exit and only one watchman standing.

"Is that it? It's still like lunch break"

"Do you want to go back to Central Square and sit down and wait? You've been standing there all this time. It's hard, isn't it?

"Right. I guess I should have somewhere to sit today."

When the two of us were discussing a time crush, the watchman seemed to remember his face completely, and he was invited.

"I'll ask my husband if I can let him through. Can you wait here for a minute?

"Thank you"

The watchman pulled into the store once, came right out, opened the door wide and let me through.

The window slab door is closed and the gatekeeper walks Stasta through the dim shop, opening the door in the back room. The back room was bright because the sun was plugging in with Mr., and I could see the fireplace burning red.

"Mine, did the fever go down?

Apparently he was working. Benno put the ink down and got up.

"Yes. I'm here to return this board. So, I have a question, okay?

"Oh, that's good. I need to talk to you first."

Encouraged questions as Benno showed by hand to get to his usual table.

"Thank you for this board. Thanks to this, the winter study plan has taken some form."

"Ho?

"Uh, I've been reading it, and I've been wondering. I know I need to be able to get myself together and say hello, but to what extent do I get myself together? And we don't know if the merchant has a unique greeting or rhetoric."

Oh, and Benno stares at me and Lutz.

"In the meantime, you're civilians close to the South Gate, but you don't have any thin, dirty impressions, so all you need is clothes and shoes to work. With about 10 small silver coins, we'll have the least we can do, so save your money now and we'll figure it out by summer."

"10 small silver coins...... I'm glad I saved up, imitating Mine."

Lutz groans with a grumpy face. For Lutz, whose mother spun the yarn and was what makes the clothes, it would be a shock if 10 small silver coins of clothes and shoes were said to be the minimum.

I'm shocked, too, but there's no off-the-shelf clothing here. I thought if I were made to order, I would do that. It's expensive, but in the spring, if you work hard to make paper, it's a price you can save by summer.

"And anyway Mine, Lutz is a wordy guy. If we don't use polite language, we can't get it out in front of our guests like it is now."

To Benno's point, Guzz Lutz got stuck in words.

Without someone to use around you, it's hard to master polite language. I will now think of those around us who are likely to be the most lutz references.

"Polite language should refer to Mr. Marc's language."

"... you feel itchy about something."

If I suddenly try to change my speaking language, it's like I'm not me, and I can somehow understand how I feel like I'm not sitting well.

But if we can't do that, we can't stand in front of the guests. Benno's shop in particular is about to expand its business to more and more aristocratic opponents. If we try to get up there, we have to learn who we are, what we say and how we do it.

"It's okay. You can try. Even Mr. Benno, this is usually the way he talks, but he's decent for customers, so I just need Lutz to be able to look at them and switch."

I've never seen Benno speak polite language when dealing with a guild leader, but if you want to, you should be able to switch easily. Otherwise, there is no merchant.

"You don't have to speak politely to my family or me, do you? Besides, I'm not using the same language you use for Lutz as Mr. Benno or the guild leader, am I? Does it feel itchy?

"... Speaking of which, right. Mine doesn't really care because he's talking normally."

If you're switching between rustlers, it doesn't really bother you. Even if I feel uncomfortable at first, while I use it, I quickly become familiar with it.

"So why don't you also try to remember Mr. Marc's wording as a word Lutz only uses at work? At first, I think it's a good idea to start with"

Trying to fix it to just the last polite word, Rutz nodded as he was convinced.

"Oh, I will."

"No, I'm not! I will."

"Buha! Ha ha!

Benno, who watched me and Lutz interact in front of him, sprayed lavishly and laughed as he slammed the table. Tears in my eyes, holding my stomach, laughing ridiculously.

"Buffoo, I don't know how much you can bottom up during the winter, but, well, good luck with that."

A light glance at Benno, who hasn't been able to stop laughing, doesn't help at all. I'm definitely going to bottom-up you, and I hold my fist with strong determination.

At the same time I remembered every favor.

"Oh, yeah. Mr. Benno."

"What?

"I want a calculator for the bottom up. I can't get into all this without practicing."

Calculators can be used so that the head and fingers are moving at the same time, such as Marc. You won't be able to reach that level, but even practice is important.

"A calculator... If it's used at our store, we can sell it for six big copper coins, right? You two use one calculator, okay?

"Yes, please"

Benno and I combined our guild cards and had three large copper coins pulled from each of me and Lutz, and they gave up their calculators.

"Now you can study calculations, Lutz."

"Ah."

"Do you have anything else to ask or say?

Benno asked me, and I thought Ha.

"Oh, I have to order a contract size girder (soaked) by spring..."

"Just write down the purchase order. I already know Marc, so let him go to Marc"

"Huh? But..."

Marc said when he went to various places to place an order, saying that if he didn't do it himself responsibly, he wouldn't know what kind of trouble he would have. You can't leave it to me.

"I have to get you to move on something else. Look, just write the purchase order first."

I was prompted to take the purchase order set out of my tote bag. There is only one more wooden plaque to be placed on the purchase order.

"Mr. Benno, I'm going to run out of wood tags for this order..."

"Oh, I ordered a lot. Let me give you the extra."

"Wow! Finally, the ink is about to run out."

I wrote a large number of purchase orders and used them quite a bit because trial writing in ink was mandatory to make a prototype.

In my words Benno draws his cheeks all the time.

"... I just want to take the money, but, well, fine. I'll keep it for the initial investment."

Ha ha with that word. Otto said the ink is expensive, so it's not like a child would use it. But I've never heard of a specific price.

Most likely I asked Benno a question.

"I don't know, if they take the money, how much is the ink?

"About four small silver coins."

"Huh!?

You can't buy it if you collect my current savings with Lutz!

"Take care."

"Yes. Absolutely!"

Though I thought you wanted ink for your own book making, let's give up buying it. It is best to use the remaining coal pencils.

Write down the purchase order with the gully. I'm used to it. The tip of the tree pen gets round quickly, so Lutz scraped it and let it point, and Benno put out an average contract, measured the size in measure, and wrote down a purchasing order for the girder.

Benno looks at the purchase order I wrote and raises his eyebrows gently.

"You have no flaws or typos at all. I'll turn this around to Marc.... Mine, it's the same with me that I can't digit and I can't make paper. I'll make it responsibly, so don't look worried"

"Regards"

Benno told me he'd be responsible, so let's wait in peace. I exhale slowly and clear the purchase order set.

"... is this the end of your story?

"Yes."

When I nodded loudly, Benno stretched his spine softly and tightened his expression. Me and Lutz also correct our posture, perceiving that it would be a business related story.

"Okay, I want to talk about this one. Mine, that's the liquid you taught me to wash my hair."

"Yes."

Simple, I should have taught you how to make a phosphor on the way to making a paper prototype, when you borrowed your keys. I have no idea what I'm talking about now, even though I have completely waived my rights in contract magic. Leaning his neck, Benno opened his mouth with a troubled face.

"I said Merrill is the best oil you use, so I waited until this season..."

"Is that it? It's time for Merrill's season to end, isn't it? Haven't you made it yet?

Me and Lutz looked at Benno's words.

Merrill's season is almost over. Even we picked a lot of Merrill, and she's already become a simple phosphor. I'm talking about Benno pursuing profits, so I already made it and thought it was something I was selling in bulk.

"No, I'm gathering what's harvested and letting it be made in one of the workshops, but there's a story coming up the other day that if I make it like you said, it won't be the same thing. Do you have any idea what's causing this?

I frowned unexpectedly at Benno's words. Just basically crush, squeeze, and scent. I don't see any place that would fail.

Lutz, who helped me make it several times, leans his neck just like I do.

"... even though they said it wouldn't be the same, there wasn't such a difficult process to make that one, was there?

"Hey?"

As long as there are ingredients, there are a few suggestions for improvement, but I don't know why I would fail something that simple. Whether Touri made it or Lutz made it, I got the same thing right.

"I really didn't want to show up like you, but if that fluid isn't finished, it's going to be against contract magic. I'm sorry, but can you come with me to the workshop?

"Yes."

The contract magic did break. The punishment was terrible, and in the worst case scenario, you should have died. In a prompt reply to our cuteness, Lutz grabbed my arm.

"Mine, I think you should stop today. The fever just dropped, and you're not in the book yet, are you?

Rutz's words are correct, but this season is rarely able to get in tune with the book. If you get a little caught off guard, it's not a strange season whenever you get a fever. If you don't decide you're fine without fever, you can't act forever.

"But I don't know how long to wait for the book to go, and if it's blurry, it's gonna start snowing, so you should go without the heat, okay?

"That's true, but..."

Slap gently on Rutz's head so that Pompom and Benno can reassure him.

"Lutz, don't worry too much. Mine won't let me walk because I'll hold him. I can't stand that speed."

"... then, well, are you okay?

That is what Lutz said, and I was again held by Benno, to move.

The cause of failure, even if they say so, has never failed before.

Do you know what I mean?
