Ascendance of a Bookworm

Winter cages and winter handiwork

When my father and Touri gave me a lift to the temple room, Fran greeted me with his eyes round. He looks at me alternately with his family, blinking his eyes.

"What is it, Master Mine?"

"Fran, I'm so sorry for the sudden"

I will stop Fran trying to invite him inside and brief him lightly at the door. We talked about being targeted by the president of the Ink Association to get information, about Lutz getting tangled up by strange men, and about starting a winter cage in the temple, though a little early for safety.

And be careful not to divulge information to Delia as much as possible because there seems to be a connection with the nobility and bad rumors about what the purpose of the president of the Ink Society is, that I don't even know the name of the president myself in the first place.

Fran was listening with a difficult face, but listened to the whole story and nodded slowly.

"Yes, I did. Let's talk to the Chief Cleric later."

"Fran, I'm going to encourage you to gather information here, but I need mine. I'll come and see how it goes."

Power cages in the hand of the Father that was placed on my shoulder. Fran nodded straight back at his father.

"Accepted. Master Mine will be careful, so don't hesitate."

"Mine, say what I can and don't bother you around. Then, speak to the Chief Cleric properly. If you're not in good contact with your boss, you'll be very busy."

I smiled bitterly at the caveats from a soldier-like point of view and slapped my left breast twice with my fist on my right hand. Huh, my father soothes his expression, and then returns the same trick.

Tulli hugged and looked at me anxiously.

"Bye, Mine. I'll be here for the next holiday. You're gonna be a good girl until then, aren't you?

"Yeah. I'll wait."

I walked into my room, seeing my father and Touri go home. Though my room, I've never stayed in the temple before and I'm a little nervous.

All of a sudden they came in time to refrain from supper. Mainly the sidekicks were uniformly surprised.

"What is it, Master Mine?"

"I have a little situation and I'm going to be caged in the temple today."

"What's the situation?

I cloud my words with the question of Delia leaning down my neck.

"I can't go into the details because nobility could be related."

I exhaled gently, holding off Delia trying to get her to change into blue clothes, "because I'm not even planning on going out anymore today". It's usually time I'm home, so I don't float around to see what to do.

"What is everyone doing at this hour?

Rosina obviously plays fesh peel, until 7 bells and time is fixed, so she always plays until the critical when the bell rings.

Delia seems to be getting ready for a bath and carrying hot water from the kitchen. They say bath time is an important time to polish a woman. Delia's high level of female power must be apprenticed.

Gil writes reports on stone slabs about what he did and what he was able to do at Mine Workshop. This is based on the Guilberta Chamber of Commerce's method of product management, which he says is being studied under the guidance of Lutz.

Fran had compiled reports of food and daily necessities consumed in orphanages and in this room to prepare the replenishment request. Fran is very busy because of all the paperwork he does every day. Again, I say it's easier to assign it to Rosina and Vilma.

"... Shall I write to the Chief Cleric requesting a visit?"

Towards the clerk's desk I write a letter requesting an interview to speak with the clergyman. It will take a few days for a reply to arrive, so when the hell will we be able to talk?

When I finish writing the letter, I will work out the concept of the next picture book with reference to Frieda's opinion. We decided to put together a story about the families of the Gods related to each season.

I ate dinner alone while I was served, asked Delia to help me take a bath, and dived into a fuzzy futon by herself. On the bedside shelves is a water drain and a glass, then a bell to call for side service.

"Good night, Master Mine"

"Good night, Delia, Rosina"

The curtains from the bass and the ceiling were closed and I slept alone in a dark, wide bed.

For delicious rice, for baths that don't piss me off when I use plenty of hot water, for rice that surrounds me with a pleasant family even though it's a big bed that feels good to the touch, tulips and jokes, and I think I should stick my narrow bed together and sleep with the whole family.

...... It's not even the end of the day yet, but it's homesick, and it's not cool.

Even if there is a side service, the line draws as Lord and Subordinate is clear. He treats me with a respectful attitude, but he doesn't spoil me nicely. I couldn't help but miss being alone when I was anxious to be targeted by someone I don't even know my face.

Temple mornings are late.

Precisely with side service support, you shouldn't seem to get out of the bedroom until you're ready for breakfast, and when you get up, you say, "No! Please stay awake until I speak to you," Delia said angrily.

I've never known a noble princess to have to pretend to sleep until after a side job. Will it piss me off if I sneak up and read a book?

"Well, shall we practice soon?"

Finish your light breakfast and join Rosina in fesh peel practice. "When Master Mine lives here, it's nice not to have to wait until you're here," Rosina says, preparing Fesh Peel with a nice smile.

By the time I started practicing, Delia and Gill began cleaning the room and pumping water, and Fran went to the Cleric Chief to write a request for a visit and explain the circumstances.

According to Fran, who returned, he was strictly ordered not to leave the room until he gathered information. Instead of a temple for a while, it seems to be every day caged in the room.

If the 3 bells ring, the music class is over. I can't get out of the room, so I spend some time working out the idea of a picture book to make next time, or teaching Delia how to write letters and simple calculations.

"Master Mine is surprisingly good at teaching. It's easier to understand than Gil."

"Really? Can I have a temple teacher, too?

Fran overheard my words when I was a little lit, because Delia rarely praised me.

"Master Mine, what the hell is a temple class?

"This is a place to teach kids who can't read and write letters so they can read and write them?

"... is that a decision?

"Yeah, I'm on schedule as something to do during the winter months"

Fran sighed slowly after blinking several times.

"Dear Mine, I know I haven't received a report. Please explain what the hell you intend to do and how to proceed."

"Huh? But it says here, right?

I take out the winter schedule with Pyron and give it to Fran so that he can see it. "Is that the Temple Class," Fran lowered her eyes lightly and murmured. Apparently, I didn't get through with educating the kids. Fran apparently thought teaching Touri's sewing classes and how to do handiwork in the winter was an education for the kids.

"Even if I told you I would teach the children of the orphanage to read to some extent with the carta and picture books given to Master Mine, right?

Gil leans his neck, and I, uh-oh, get stuck in words.

"Or I want you to be able to write. If you could read and write, would it be easier to work when you're at the sidelines or when you go downstairs to a noble house?

"Right."

"Besides, if we can count and calculate numbers, we can manage our own workshops and orphanages, right? I think I'd rather know than know."

Gil nods convincingly when he talks about managing the workshop that Gil was writing yesterday. He still can't seem to read a large number, and he's writing a report while the gray cleric helps him.

"Master Mine, where the hell are you going to do that temple class?

"The only thing that can stay with both men and women is the dining room. in the dining room. I'll be your teacher."

"Let me be a gray cleric who can read and write what I teach. Master Mine must not do that."

Fran and Rosina all together rejected it. It seems that I should not be on the table after all.

In the end, I create something like a class progress chart, where I first serve as a teacher in my own room in Delia. Look at that, Fran and Rosina play teacher roles in the dining room.

The former side-serving gray clerics were also involved in the teacher role, and Fran and Rosina were to open the temple classroom with the flow of quitting the teacher role where appropriate.

... Mmm, you wanted to be a teacher because you were complimented.

With regard to the Temple classroom, the goal was to be able to write basic letters for all the children during the winter months and to be able to make single-digit extra deductions. I have prepared a lot of stone slabs and stone brushes, as well as a children's scripture to make it a textbook.

It was almost lunch when the flow was decided. Lutz asked me as I had lunch and had tea.

"Mine, are you okay?

After getting a check from Benno to see what was going on around him and who was suspicious, he finally got permission to come and see what was going on.

I run down the stairs to Rutz waving in the hall.

"Lutz, call me Gyu"

"Whoa!?

I jump on Lutz with Dawn and demand a hug. Give me warmth, hungry for warmth.

"I must be with my family. I miss you. I want to go home now."

"You've only been here one night, haven't you?

Leaks a laugh like Lutz had trouble with my stupidity, but I miss what I miss even overnight.

"I'll get used to it one of these days, so it's now that I feel most lonely"

"Come on, what do you think? Maybe we'll miss you more than this, huh?

"... If I'm going to miss you more and more, I may die lonely"

You can't read a book without going to the library, but you're being canned in your own room. I have no books but my own children's scriptures. If I continue to be lonely with no family in this state, I'm going to lose my temper to live.

"... Mine is dying as soon as he takes his eyes off it, so it won't be a shade."

"I miss you, too. I'll be patient. Lutz is troublesome, too. Just hang with me for a second."

"Ha, you can't help it"

I cling to Lutz until I was satisfied. Lutz leaves me hanging on, letting Gil compare the tablet he was writing yesterday to his own report, pointing out miscalculations, etc.

When I am holding onto Lutz to gain stability in my heart, I say to the side service, "It can't be!" or "What a lady......" or "Choose a richer aristocratic man anyway. Ya!" and "Master Mine relies on Lutz all the time" and so on.

But completely ignored. Even though we have a long way to go, my spiritual stability is more important.

"Oh, yeah. Mine, there's nothing more I can do in the workshop, but what do I do? Winter handiwork, do you want to start?

The creation of the second edition of the Children's Bible has been completed, and there is still thick paper to make it the edition paper, but since the paper that can be made into the picture book is almost gone, it is not possible to make the picture book. And the papermaking has been interrupted by the fact that the river is about to freeze cold.

Although I have been working on winter support and ink making here lately, I say that winter support is almost over and the coal that serves as the raw material is likely to disappear.

"Well, I'll explain the manual work, will you bring me a plate and tools for reversing from the workshop?

"Okay. Gil, let's go."

"Ooh."

Lutz and Gill brought plates and tools. At the table in the small hall I explain how to make reversi.

"It's the thicker board that makes the game board. Write a straight line with a coal pencil using an object. Eight squares by eight squares."

I draw a line softly on the board with my own coal pencil.

"If you can draw a line, you can carve a line with this."

I said so, pointing to the same tool on the sculpture knife triangle knife. This triangle knife was ordered at the blacksmith's workshop after asking the mechanic.

"If I carve along the line, I'll write the line in ink in that ditch. I don't think it sticks out much, but be careful not to stick out."

"Okay."

"That thinner board fits the size of the mass on the game board, cut it into 64, brush it with a razor, and get your hands on it. This can only be done with ink on one side, so if you can cut it, it's easy after. Then..."

Lutz glanced at me when I was explaining that I was going to hang up chess or chess or cut a wooden board just like Reversi and write letters on top.

"Well, Mine. Can't this be like printing?

"Why?"

"There aren't many people who can write yet, and they're not necessarily good at writing, are they? Write it in a small place, I think you'll have trouble reading it."

"Hmm, I see... shall we try to make a copy of the paper like a stencil"

Lutz writes more and more steps on the calligraphy board. I write down my improvements and things to think about on my calligraphy board.

Gil stared at Rutz when he watched the usual meetings.

"... this is how Lutz always taught Master Mine how to do it?

"Oh, because blue witches can't work in the workshop. You can't work in a workshop unless you tell me in advance at home, can you?

"Me, I thought it was awesome to know everything about you, but isn't that Master Mine?"

I thrust Gil's cheek, which swelled.

"Gil, Lutz is amazing. Once I tell you this, I can explain it properly in the workshop and make it. Gil was listening with me right now, but can you teach everyone?

"... I can't"

Gill leaned down once as he swelled, and raised his face kicked up, pointing to the book board that me and Lutz had.

"But I can't because I don't have a calligraphy board! If I had it, it would be awesome!

"Oh, Gil learned to write too, didn't he? I'm practicing my workshop report, and I was wondering if it's time? I can't go out now, so I'll get you ready in the spring."

"Are you sure!? All right, me, I'll definitely beat Lutz!

Rutz gently flushed Gill's rival proclamation with his hands on his hips, "If possible, win by spring," he said. Rutz is supposed to follow Benno around to the next city's plant paper factory in the spring. Rutz says he wants Gil to be able to leave the workshop entirely to him.

"Oh, yeah. Next time I say one apprentice from the store... he's close to an adult, but I'll bring him in."

"Why? Representing Lutz while he's gone?

When I lean my neck, Lutz frowns just a little.

"On the face of it, I helped the same workshop as I did, but my husband told me to learn how to stand and behave here."

"Oh, speaking of which, you said you'd grow the service of an Italian restaurant"

I wrote it on the calligraphy board that I had to schedule it, too.

"... I get the reversi, but how do you make the cards?

"I really wish I had ink in other colors, but I can't help it without it, so let's start with a black color."

And I wrote down the marks and the numbers on the tablet, and drew three of the diamonds as examples in the great square.

"It's like this, drawing numbers and their number marks, making four kinds of pieces."

"There's a lot of them."

"Dear Mine, this mark looks a little like God's artifact."

That's what Gil said as he pointed to the stone plate diamond as he seemed to be good at it.

"Really?

"Oh, this looks like a Ryden Shaft spear. Then this is Fruitraine's wand."

I say that the diamond is like the spear of the god of fire and the spade resembles the shape of the wand of the goddess of water. If you ask me, the eartips of the spears of the divine instruments and the demonic stones of the wands looked like that.

"What about Szczeria, the goddess of wind?

"That shield is round, so it's not here. Gedurleich, the goddess of earth, is the Holy Grail, so this is how it will be shaped..."

Let Gil say, the circle is the shield of the goddess of wind, the reverse triangle becomes the Holy Grail of the goddess of earth. If it's just going to be four types, it might be easier to accept it if you're familiar with it.

With reference to Gill's opinion, I redraw the marks of the cards into four types: spades, diamonds, circles and reverse triangles.

"Then shall we also make J, Q and K a symbol of God? It's hard to paint."

J is the symbol of the God of life, the sword, Q is the crown of the Goddess of the Sun, and K is represented by the black cloak of the Dark God. The point is to make it as simple as possible.

I thought about what to do with the presence of the Joker, but in love with the Dark God, I turned it into a distorted circle, a symbol of the goddess of chaos that burns the stalking act of the God of Life.

"Yeah, sounds good. You look like a tramp made in a temple."

"Oh, it's easy to understand because it's coming out in Carta, too, right?

When it was all decided and Gil and I were delighted, Lutz looked at the tablet and made a difficult face.

"Mine, this is the one you should make and print. We'll never get all the pictures together."

"... ok. I'll make the paper."

It was decided to make a sheet of paper out of thick paper, just as it was printed, and take a method of printing it on a board. We have plenty of time anyway. It's as cheap as the cardboard.

"Well, I'm leaving today."

"... yeah"

Laughing like Lutz was in trouble, he clung to my cheek. "It hurts," I glanced at Lutz, holding my cheek.

"... come with Thuri tomorrow, don't look like that"

"I'll put up with the loneliness, so come proper"

Gill looked down at me worried as I was dropping Lutz off to go home.

"Do you miss Master Mine?

"Yeah, it was normal to have a family, so I miss you"

Even though I know it's safer for everyone to be here, I want to go home to us. I feel left in the temple.

"Do you want me to spoil you like Lutz?

The moment Gil tilted his neck and said so, there was a harsh voice behind him.

"Don't."

Looking back, Fran stood there with a scary face. Walk to the front of Gill and tell him quietly.

"Gil, Master Mine is the Lord. Spoiling Master Mine is not a side serving area. It's not the same Lutz as friends and family."

"... ok"

Gil, who regrettably devoured his teeth, nodded slowly. Seeing that, Fran exhaled lightly, soothing his expression a little.

And he will kneel before me, gaze at me, and give me another stern look.

"Dear Mine, with all those circumstances, I can understand how thoughtful you are. So let me turn a blind eye to the fold where Lutz and your family are, and the sweet portion in this room. But we want you to keep the distance you deserve from your side service."

"Okay."

The loneliness was going to be a tougher winter than the cold.
