Ascendance of a Bookworm

Delia's Progress

I ordered Johann a tool to make raw paper, but it still takes some time for the tools to be done.

And before the tools were completed, Vilma's painting for the next picture book was completed. The theme is spring, the story of the 12 goddesses, the goddess of water, Fruitraine, and her family.

"Hey, Lutz. It's gonna take some time before I can do the tools, and should I make my next picture book first?

The paper that Vilma made me was made with black and white in mind because I had been working on producing paintings before I was able to produce color ink. Therefore, I would like to print it in black and white this time.

If you want to print in black and white using paper, you can print without having to wait for tools. I just started making paper in the spring, so although the number of paper is small, I can buy this from a plant paper workshop made by Benno.

"If it's because of this, I'd like to use the printing press..."

"The clergyman tells you no, right? Give it up and make a copy of the paper with a cutter."

An immediate rejection came in from Lutz, so I decided to give up and cut through the thick paper. Too bad I had both a metal typeface and a simple printing press because of it.

"You got more to do first than try to sneak up on the printing press I was told not to use, right? You better let Vilma know that you told her that you had color ink as soon as possible and that you want her to paint a painting that brings ink to life for your next picture book. I have to figure out how to print it and figure out what kind of picture to make."

"Right. They're taking care of Dirk, so I didn't have much time to talk to Vilma. I'll go to the orphanage this afternoon and talk to you."

Me and Lutz walk pompous, talking like that. As I walked down the street, I saw my mother carrying a child, and I was hacked.

"Yes, Lutz. Can you put a stone in it like this, then cover it, and stick it with glue?

"... okay, what?

Lutz tilted his neck when he saw the tree I had handed him. There are two things that crippled the trees my father had me scrape and polish and process. Then a bag with pebbles that I'm washing to get inside. Add pebbles and fasten with glue for easy rattling. I have two of the same things.

"It's a toy for babies. For Camill and Dilk. After sticking together like this, if you shake it, the sound will ring."

"Oh, different shape, but something similar."

"I really want to color this, but I don't even ink what my baby puts in his mouth..."

Unless it's a bright color, I don't see a child this age, so I'd like to paint the rags with red ink, but I have a little resistance to painting the ink on what the baby puts in his mouth.

If it's ink made from ingredients that can be put in the mouth, it doesn't seem like a problem to put it in the mouth, but then I wonder if the vikins will develop around the ink this time.

"Anyway, it's not something you use for long, is it? Why don't you just use ink made of material that's okay for you to put in your mouth? In the meantime, there's no use for the color ink that I experimented with in the ink workshop."

"So, Lutz, can I ask you a favor?

"Oh, I'll deliver it in the afternoon"

I gave Rutz the material I brought and broke up in front of the workshop. And then I head to my room.

"Good morning, Master Mine"

Rosina held the fesh peel and waited. I ask Delia to get dressed while I grin bitterly at motivated Rosina.

"Delia, I'd like to get dressed, okay?

"Yep."

Leaving the dilk with regret, Delia hurries to get me dressed. When I quickly put on my blue witch clothes and tighten my belt, I immediately return to my dilk.

"Dilk, please wait"

Delia speaks to Dirk with a radiant smile like I've never seen before. Delia is deluded to Dirk.

... What, that cute smile. I've never seen it before.

I accidentally breathed in Delia's smile, whose original face was beautiful. It is a soft, affectionate smile that reminds me of Gerathy in a bit of dilk.

"Dear Mine, Dilk is going to be able to turn around in a little while. That's my brother. Excellent."

Phew, and Delia sits next to Dirk, stroking Dirk's head as he tries to twist his body. All I see is a complete dilk. Even though it hasn't been ten days since Dirk came to the orphanage, he seems a lot cuter.

"Dear Mine, I'll leave you to Delia to start practicing fesh peel"

Voiced by Rosina, I begin practicing with the smaller fesh peel in my hand. Playing the assignment song several times, the door opened. After breakfast and cleaning up the orphanage, Vilma sent the children to the workshop to pick up the dilk.

"Good morning, Master Mine. I'm here to pick up the dilk."

"Morning, Vilma. Well, thank you again today. I need to talk to you today about the picture book, so I'm taking you to the orphanage this afternoon."

When I told him of my plans for today, Vilma nodded, "Yes, I did." Then take over on Delia and Dirk. I have to ask how the night went and how much goat's milk I drank at how much time, and predict and prepare for the next milk time.

"When Dirk's gone, you'll miss him."

That's what Delia says, unfortunately stroking the dilk over and over again and depositing it with Vilma.

When Dilk goes to the orphanage, Delia loses her temper and energy, but Rosina gets a horrible look somewhere. It's a contrasting reaction.

Until the 3 bells ring, practice fesh peel, and then help the clergyman with Fran until lunch. At the end of lunch, Fran and Rosina will be taking breaks in their respective private rooms.

Rosina and Fran seem to be doing a little better since we started taking time off this afternoon. Still, I see the color of fatigue.

"There are no gray witches with parenting experience. You can't run an orphanage from now on if you don't think about what to do when an infant is placed in your care."

There are no more grey witches who took care of me as I raised my child. And given how I've had children, it's better not to have more from now on.

I also need to discuss it with the chief cleric and think about what to do when I keep the infant. You will not go to burden my side alone forever from now on.

"Now, if you'll excuse me."

"You both get some rest."

When Fran and Rosina entered the afternoon break, Delia was the only side service left in the room. Delia has also finished cleaning the room and is practicing calculations.

I waited for Lutz's visit as I turned to the desk to create a copy of the paper. Not so long to wait, Lutz, who finished his lunch at the Gilberta Chamber of Commerce, comes with a finished toy.

"Look, Mine. I got it."

"Wow, thanks"

He shows me the finished product, shaking the rags Lutz had in his hand. Will the two of you be happy with the toy painted a little dark red? Kamil is not yet at a happy age, so first of all, I would like to see her react in dilk.

"I've ordered paper from my husband too, so if you want to print it, you can always print it."

"Rutz, you're working fast."

"I don't know yet. Marc tells me there's a lot of waste."

It seems that the results being forged by Marc are steadily emerging. Although he says he can't beat Marc, Benno or Leon, how far does Lutz intend to go that year?

"Mine, don't forget to get a copy of the paper from Vilma. I'll start prepping the workshop so I can print it."

"Yeah, I got it."

After I drop Lutz off, I clean up one rag in my own tote bag. And when I held the other in my hand, I spoke to Darmuel, who was in the small hall on the ground floor.

"Dear Darmuel, we're going to the orphanage..."

"Oh, okay"

When I approached Darmuel, who was waiting for me at the door, early enough, Darmuel looked around me and frowned.

"Here, witch apprentice. What happened to the side service? What do you mean you're going out without a single companion?

"... Huh?

I have Dermuel, so I thought it wouldn't be a problem, but apparently the escort and side service are separate and should not be counted as companions. She said she shouldn't leave the room without taking the ladies to serve.

I had no choice but to speak to Delia.

"Delia, I need to talk to Vilma in the orphanage from now on. Please accompany me."

"Dear Mine, I..."

She swallowed what Delia wanted to say, turning with a strong face, and bit her lips with regret. Even if you want to say you don't like it, there's no way you can say that in your position. Usually I can respect Delia's opinion, but with Darmuel, the knight, waiting, I can't possibly do that either.

"Delia, you can go to the front of the orphanage. Could you put up with that much? I'll ask Vilma to accompany me home."

"... Yes, sir."

Delia leads the way in depression and goes down the corridor. I can also see that Delia's shoulders are stretched, and her footsteps are heavy, which is behind her. I can only see my back, but I will be in desperate shape, although I cannot see my face.

I came all the way to the orphanage. Pittari and Delia's legs stop.

"Well, I'll be back."

"Here, side serve. Open the door before you go back. Are you going to let the Witch Apprentice, the Lord, open it?

Dermuel spoke harshly to Delia as she tried to turn her heel back. There is no way I can let Darmuel, the knight, open the door of the orphanage. Side service is to keep the hand of the Lord from annoying.

Delia turned into a bright blue face like she had lost her color, and still, seeing Darmuel, who did not change her harsh expression, she turned to the door without a choice. Delia closes her tight eyes, eats away her teeth, and pushes open the door of the orphanage with her trembling hands.

I made a giggly heavy noise and the door opened. It is the orphanage dining room that stretches out in front of you, with large tables sloppily lined up. And there was a big cushion in the back, and there were gray witches around it.

You noticed the door opening, and they turned to you all at once. The gray witches notice my visit and all kneel on their backs to the dilk on the cushion.

Master Mine, I'm coming back.

Delia squeaks as she leans over to keep the sight of the orphanage out of her eyes.

"Yeah, I'm sorry I made you impossible. Thank you, Delia."

"No."

Only once, turning to those with dilk, Delia tried to turn her heels back. At the next moment, when Delia opened her eyes and wondered if she looked back again, she rushed out toward the cushion behind the dining room.

"Dilk."

I could see Dilk's body sticking out of the cushion for more than half of his success in turning over. If you succeed in turning around with this momentum, you will fall out of the gobble and cushion.

Ugh, utterly, it was almost at the same time that Dirk succeeded in his first turnaround as Delia offered her arm as she slipped into the dilk where she was twisting her body.

"Me too! What would you do if the dilk rolled off the cushion and was injured!? Don't take a good look!

With the dilk back in the center of the cushion, Delia hoisted her eyebrows. Even if you complain like that, there's no way you can stay on your knees when the Blue Witch Apprentice comes. Dirk, I lay down my shoulders lightly on Delia, who was blind to cuteness.

"... I think I even put him in the orphanage, and what if Delia watches?

"Ah!?

In my words Delia sees where she stands and opens her eyes wide. To Delia, who stood up hastily, I handed the rags to Pong.

"It's a toy that sounds. I was going to give it to Dirk. Give it to me from Delia. Because Dirk would be happier to have Delia play with him than I would."

I stare at the red rattle that Delia has in her hand as she hesitates.

"It should be time to be able to chase the red color with your eyes.... Should I give it to you?

I thought it would be a good idea to give you my first toy from your sister, but when I tried to take the rattle in Delia's hand, Delia shook the rattle and raised her hand gently. I cannot reach them when they are raised high.

"Then give it to Dirk from Delia. Vilma, I need to talk to you, okay? Everyone else should go back and take care of Dilk."

Head to the table where you can see Dilk's cushion, and when I start talking to Burma, the gray witch who was kneeling also starts to move.

"Dirk, this is a toy from Master Mine. Can you see it?"

Delia spoke gently and moved the rags as they shook and made a sound in front of Dilk. Dilk follows the motion with his wide open eyes.

To see if I could give it to Camille, I thought I'd give the toy to Dilk to see how it would react, but it seems pretty eye-catching. I can see Dilk following sound and color with his eyes. If this happens, I'm sure Kamil will be happy with it.

"Well, you seem to see it."

"Do you react to sounds?

The gray witch, who has no experience dealing with babies, looks at Dirk and Delia with interest.

Apparently Delia, who realized where she was in her surrounding voice, turned red and stood up staring at me.

"Master Mine, I'm going back to your room! Ladies and gentlemen, I entrust you with the dilk."

Trying to push a rag on one gray witch, Delia pops out of the orphanage. I put it in once, so if I get used to it a little bit like Burma, I guess I'll start putting it in the orphanage, too.

Vilma looks worried as she frowns a little over Delia's back as she pops out.

"Dear Mine, is Delia okay? I heard you didn't like orphanages."

"... what do you think? Dilk, I hope you get used to cuteness a little bit. Delia doesn't feel comfortable with orphanages from her past memories, but she doesn't have the basement where Delia was anymore."

I bet Delia, who spent all the time on the basement and moved to the temple chief's room on baptismal day, has little memory of an orphanage other than the basement. At best, it would have passed. If I get used to it, if it's about the dining room, I think I'll be able to get in and out.

If you don't get me in and out of here in about a year, Delia won't be able to see Dirk. Because if Dirk can sleep at night to some extent, he will be transferred to a room with pre-baptism children in the orphanage.

"I hope I'm not going to leave with my sweet little brother."

"Every day, when you pick up Dirk, Delia won't really try to let go, and you'll look so sorry, will you? Something I seem to be doing wrong with taking them. It's sad for both of us to miss you even though you're so adorable, so I hope Delia gets used to the orphanage a little sooner"

Burma's face, fluffy and smiling, has no shadow of fatigue like Rosina or Fran.

"Is it because we have manpower here? Vilma's not that pale."

"Because lunch is the only time I deal with Dirk, and I'm not going to take care of him alone. Rosina and Fran will be alone at night, won't they? I think it's tough."

Though it's only during lunch that Vilma takes care of Dirk, she still feels like Dirk took Vilma, and some of the young kids are in a baby return condition. They don't leave when they fall asleep.

"Vilma is like an orphanage mother. It's tough with a lot of kids in your hands."

"I have memories of my mother adoring me on the basement until the baptism ceremony. That's why I want to give my love to the children who lost their mothers too. I'd love it if everyone thought like a mother."

With a loose laugh, Vilma narrows her eyes. I felt from the bottom of my heart that it was good to have Vilma as an orphanage administrator because the kids were so cute.

After that, I talked to Vilma about the picture books. From now on, I'm going to start printing a new picture book, so I want you to give me a copy of the paper, the color ink is complete, and from now on, I want you to think about a picture that uses color ink. However, since the printing method is the same Confucius printing as before, it is necessary to make a sheet of paper for each color. Lowe, I plan to make the original paper, so that, in time, I can paint more delicate pictures.

"Master Mine really likes books, doesn't he? I can't believe I can think of one new way after another like this...... I'll do my best to paint."

"Thank you, Vilma"

By the time I had finished the whole story and deposited a copy of the paper from Vilma, it seemed time for Dilk to get hungry. As Dirk began to grumble, I hurried back to my room. With me, the preparation of Dilk's meal is delayed.

"It's going to be tough for all of you, but I need you to take care of Dilk. Vilma, I'm sorry, but please escort me to my room."

"Yes, Master Mine."

He seems to be getting used to taking care of Dilk, and even without Vilma, the Grey Witches were quickly bringing the goat's milk from the basement and starting to get ready.

"... what voice is that?

"You sound like Delia."

When I was going back to my room, Delia said, "No!" I heard her screaming. I met Vilma face to face with the hysterical voice of Delia, who was basically in a good mood since Dirk arrived and didn't hear much.

When I returned to my room as quickly as I could, there was a figure of Fran and Delia making up their minds.

"I don't trust the Chief Cleric!

"I'm trustworthy."

I blinked at the unusual combination of the two of them, or Delia's bite on one side.

"Fran, Delia, what's the fuss?

Until I spoke, it really seemed that the two of them had not noticed. Ba and looking back Fran hastily apologizes and welcomes me.

"Welcome home, Master Mine. I apologize for making you look ugly."

"Dear Mine, what the hell are you going to do!?

Unlike Fran, Delia rushed out to me and yelled at me, staring at me tightly. All of a sudden, I have no idea what it is.

"Uh, what can I tell you?

"Delia! What is that attitude towards Master Mine!?

Listening to Fran's reprimand, Delia grabbed my shoulder with a gasp.

"I'm asking you what it means to adopt Dirk!

"So, as I've said many times, didn't Arnault say the story went through? Get your hands off Master Mine!

... Um, someone, description, pleez.
