Ascendance of a Bookworm

Presentation of the Lords' Meeting (two years)

I asked Hartmoot, who was accompanying him, what happened to the clergyman, but it seemed that the only place Hartmoot was allowed to be present was at the negotiating table with Dunkelferger, and he could not be present where the clergyman was summoned.

"I just saw Aub Aerenfest yell in the dorm and Master Ferdinand quietly flush it through. I guess from the end of the word, it seemed like an inevitable royal fate."

And I get a report from Haltmoot on the outcome of my negotiations with Dunkelferger. Arrangements for stamp duties and translations fell roughly within the scope expected.

"You're afraid of the lady lord over there. He didn't seem sure, but he seemed to notice something about printing."

"Why not?

"He said he was compared to the book he lent to Master Hannelore, but that there was no more disturbance in the handwriting than strangely enough to say he was the same person. The fact that ink around the letters is different from other handwritten books. Most importantly, the idea of selling books at Aerenfest meant that there was a technology that could prepare the same thing."

... Civilians in the Great Territories are scary.

I felt so scared of Drevanhell analyzing the phosphor I got to try, but I'm also scared enough of Dunkelferger's civilian to look at the book my daughter borrowed and realize that's all without having to know how to print it. Differences from Aerenfest were shown in various ways.

"Then there was a relatively fast understanding of the cost of stamp duties and translations and how much they cost."

It's hard to incorporate concepts like never before. Because it is normal to make books by hand, I can't seem to understand the "per book" part, and it was very hard to make the junior civilians involved in the printing industry understand it. Though my mother's understanding of actually making and selling books was very quick.

"I was very nervous at a meeting with a stabbing gaze about whether I deserved to be Clarissa's opponent."

Looks like Clarissa's father was Aub's escort knight, and Haltmut has always been admired. He seemed thrilled to finish the meeting, wondering if he would be cut off suddenly.

"The shield of Lady Rosemayne's Windy Goddess, who protected Aerenfest students during the awards ceremony raid, seemed very prominent, and was rumored in the Lords' Conference,"

"... Hartmoot hasn't said anything extra, has he?

"It's just the legend of the Virgin of Lord Rosemayne, which has always been publicly said. That's how much I know."

He really wanted to spread his recently purchased legend of the Virgin, including the blessing of the Dark God when he first crusaded the Turnis Befalen and the restoration of the gathering place. But he weighed himself properly.

"Weigh yourself a little more and don't even stop spreading exaggerations like the legend of the Virgin Mary"

"I'm a little dissatisfied as far as I'm concerned because I only have a modest story, but I can't help it if Lady Rosemaine wants it"

The next day will be the same debriefing as last year. The Lords' clan and its proximity, the Knights, and the upper echelons of the civil service gather together. Wilfried, Charlotte and I took together and headed to the conference room, where we got to the seat that was to be decided.

"Your uncle is in a rare mood. Was calling the Lords' Conference a good thing?

That's what I said when I saw the Cleric Chief sitting almost in the front with Wilfried sitting next to me on the left. I saw the makeover laughter of the chief priest, who kept his gaze out of sight as much as I could, and I shook my body blindly. Making smiles like I haven't seen much. That's why I'm scared. The sheriff has no idea what he thinks behind that smile and what he's angry about.

"Brother Wilfried, do not be fooled. That's a very grumpy face."

"Really?

"... you smile like you've never seen one before, huh?

Charlotte, sitting next to me to my right, raised her voice of surprise and said so in a way that Wilfried seemed suspicious compared me to the chief cleric.

"Master Ferdinand hides it without expression if it's a little emotional swing, but when he's very angry or bitter, he smiles even more so that he doesn't understand the emotions around him."

"Rosemaine"

The chief cleric deepens his smile and calls me, holding his mouth with one hand softly raised. I found myself told to "shut up," and I nodded several times when I held my mouth down with both hands.

... I knew the Chief Cleric was more afraid to smile.

"Everyone seems to be here."

After everyone is ready, the lords and their wives come in. And just like last year, the debriefing began.

"There have been many contacts this year due to another major change. There have been many important decisions, so be careful not to overhear them."

After the adoptive father's greeting, the ranking of the year was first announced by the adoptive father's clerk. They say Aerenfest is 8th. The next House of Lords will use doors and rooms number 8.

"Rosemaine-style magic compression is causing the magic power of many growing children to show significant growth. And I think even the number of outstanding people knows well that the results of the children who worked hard with the goal of improving the overall performance of the territory, not just the individual. His performance in the House of Lords improved considerably. I want you to keep up the good work."

Wilfried pointed his lips a little dissatisfied with the announcement of the ranking.

"I was wondering if I'd get more rank..."

"The House of Lords' grades and fashion alone will be harder than this. If Aerenfest doesn't become more influential in the center, I think it's time to hit the head. The territory above this is all the royal kinship, the middle territory, and the great territories that originally had a lot of influence."

If we are to aim for a higher ranking now, the epidemic must, of course, send human resources to the centre. However, if people spill out of Aerenfest so that they can speak and influence in the center, Aerenfest will have difficulty as soon as possible.

"Do you need to develop people?"

"If you have to be able to produce talented people while maintaining this grade, you will need time"

Wilfried and Charlotte all together and sighed. Aerenfest is somewhat of a small number of nobles for the size of the land. It still takes time for people to grow up so that they can be put out in the center.

"It can be said that this year's deal has allowed us to have a little influence in the centre and in Crassemburg. We plan to finally spread the print material in the House of Lords next year. I want people involved in the printing industry to stay focused and hit the job."

And they talked about this year's deal. They've decided with Central, Classenburg and Dunkelferger. Civilians look around the conference room and report.

"With eight in the centre, six in Classenburg causing disturbances in the lower town, and six in Dunkelferger, too, the Chamber of Commerce will be given permission. This year, we sold Lincoln's recipes and sweets to Rosemayne in territories where we couldn't do business again."

Because of the many territories I wanted a Lincoln in, they put the method up for sale for a pretty high price, but they sold well.

"This will also curb a little vegetable oil surge. We need to expand the deal, but we deplored the need to develop the whole thing, not just the city of Aerenfest, to do that."

Because the lower town of Aerenfest alone is limited to acceptable merchants, we can't afford to expand the city of Aerenfest or develop a town that will be a passage like Grechelle's without working out some measures to increase the deal any further.

... but urban planning around here is my adoptive father's job.

"We will now report on the printing industry. Discussions were held on publishing a book on the history of Dunkelferger"

After Haltmoot told me about the report, my adoptive father's side brought some kind of box and gave it to my adoptive father.

"I'm keeping the loot from Dunkelferger to Ferdinand, who won this right at Ditter"

Looks like it contains the material Heishitze was offering to pull the Cleric Chief into battle. The clergyman checked inside the box, nodded, "I did receive it," and gave it to Justkus.

Another clerk stood up again and started stating that it was an application for fringe against Charlotte.

"Dear Mr. Wilfried and Mr. Rosemayne are engaged, so an application for fringe has arrived for Mr. Charlotte"

Apparently, there were too many applications for the Second and Third Ladies of the Great Territories, and the First Lady of the Upper Middle Territories, which had never been conceived before.

"This is not a matter of immediate decision, so we put it on hold with regard to the reply and will consider it, including Charlotte's comments"

Even as Aerenfest, he still hasn't decided which territory to connect with at all. We need to think carefully about whether it would be better for even the Second and Third Ladies to have connections with the Great Territories or for the First Lady to be able to attend the Lords' Conference as well.

"Similarly, Aub Aerenfest had applications for Second and Third Ladies. Please consider this carefully."

He's an adoptive father who has publicly declared that he doesn't want to marry a wife other than his adoptive mother, but that would have been nice if he had pulled the cage with little connection to the others. Things are changing now. We must connect with other territories through marriage and expand our influence.

"… like Charlotte, shall also have reservations in respect of the case"

When my adoptive father said that with a bitter face, my adoptive mother flashed her shoulders when she even said "someone in trouble" next to him. I cough up with Cohon, my adoptive father gets up, waves a little and changes the subject.

"And I have royalty-related news. The unveiling of Prince Hildebrandt, son of the King's Third Lady, took place"

That he is a prince who draws the blood of the Great Territory Dunkelferger, but is raised as a subordinate. It seems no exaggeration to say that the next king has made his decision to Gigisvalt because Dunkelferger is also good at it.

"The third lady of Dunkelferger seems more magical and better than the first lady's son of Guillesenmeier, but Dunkelferger has often pulled back,"

"You must be making avoiding a coup d 'état a top priority."

Various opinions rise from around him about Hildebrandt growing up as a subordinate. Another report was made to block that voice.

"Then the ritual of star knot of Prince Anastasius and Lord Candidate of Classenburg, Lady Eglantine, was also unharmed. The hair decoration that Eglantine-sama used at that time was that of Aerenfest. I think I will continue to have orders from the big territories and royalty because they were very prominent."

If the Gilberta Chamber of Commerce hair decorations had gained prominence, there would be another order this year. I think of the face of the next Lord's Candidate to graduate, and I may have an order for hair decorations to give to your opponent from Dunkelferger's Restylaut.

... I wonder what Dear Dietrinde will do? Aub asked me to be his son-in-law, but the clergyman said no.

Um, thinking, "I have a critical report for Aerenfest at the end," my adoptive father said. My voice is slightly lower and my expression is disappearing like I'm suppressing my emotions.

... Is it the most important thing of this Lords' meeting?

I raise my face. Everyone slowly opened their mouths when they paid attention to their adoptive father.

"The royal decree determined the marriage of Ferdinand and the Lord's Candidate of Arlensbach. As their counterpart, Lady Dietrinde, has not yet graduated from the House of Lords, they will be engaged for the time being."

... I told you that story was over! What's a king's life?

Unexpectedly I saw the Chief Cleric. The clergyman's face has been the same ever since he came back from the Lords' Council, and remains a makeover laugh.

"Congratulations on your engagement. Ferdinand finally has a story like that…"

"I was in the temple, so I didn't expect you to talk to me from the Great Territories. What an honor."

"He's the one who took the best in a row, so I guess he also wanted to congratulate the royal memory"

The nobles around you utter the words of blessing. Besides, the chief cleric is still making laughs, nodding lightly and responding. It is also evident from the fact that the clergyman himself did not wish to marry, which he refused with his own mouth, that anger and dissatisfaction are in the heart of the clergyman only to make a laugh. Yet the chief clergyman is blessed with such a delightful face.

... How much patience does the Chief Cleric have to put up with? How can you really be happy marrying Deatrinde, who looks a lot like Master Veronica, who doesn't like you?

Just looking at the clergyman of the making laughs has made me so paltry that I want to cry more. I guess I feel the same way, my adoptive father, who was faceless until earlier, carved a deep wrinkle between my eyebrows as I looked at the clergyman, making me look unpleasant. My adoptive mother gently poked me in the arm and I am putting my face back on my face without expression, but I am not back.

With a slightly ill looking face, my adoptive father looked around the conference room "quietly". Words of blessing are interrupted and attention is once again drawn to the adoptive father.

"The decision so far is that after Dear Dietrinde graduates, Ferdinand will move to Arlensbach. And we are supposed to perform a star knot ritual at the Lords' Conference that will take place shortly afterwards"

Normally I would put an engagement period of about a year, but it's a lot steeper. Did something happen in Arlensbach?

"For this reason, we must remove Ferdinand from the position of chief cleric. Rosemaine cannot run the temple by herself, so we need to appoint a new chief cleric"

The meeting hall was deliberately deflected. It is a pleasure to be in a position to assist me because I can connect, but I do not want to be involved in the temple because my impression within the nobility is worse. I could feel that air.

Though there seems to be twitching and consciousness reform because of me and my proximity going in and out, the fact that I performed Haldenzel miracles in divinity, and so on, there is still a strong aversion to the temple at times of agitation.

"Aub Aerenfest. Please leave me to the Chief Cleric"

It was Haltmoot who ran for it. It will be hard to state that Haltmoot is already in and out of the temple as a proximity to me, that the handover is easier than the others because there is a part of him who was helping the clergyman with his work, and that it is a proximal role to assist me.

"But Haltmoot. I thought you were getting married in a few years.

The clergyman frowned that there was no way he could get into the temple while the clergyman introduced him to whom he was married. There are no married men in the temple. I can't get married. That is why it is only a limited time until I marry, even adults, when I am the head of the temple.

Haltmoot smiled like nothing to the chief cleric's point.

"Like Master Ferdinand, we do not abandon our position as nobles. All I do is assist Master Rosemaine. If Master Rosemayne grows up and leaves for marriage, I will also resign and marry the clergyman. If Clarissa doesn't like to go into the temple to assist Master Rosemaine, you just have to stop the marriage, and there's nothing wrong with that."

... I think we have a problem! What if Clarissa or Clarissa's parents tell me that you've been in the temple since you promised to marry her, and you're the only girl who's going to be able to marry Haltmoot, but this story goes on!?

It will be four years before I grow up. If I let him wait until then, Clarissa, who will grow up next year, will be 18. It's not a year they say I'm late for my daughter-in-law, but I think it's a little too long to keep Clarissa waiting.

... because I don't want anyone who can't get married any closer!

As I held my head, my adoptive father entrusted only one candidate to the new chief cleric.

"Then I leave Haltmoot to the clergyman. In addition to his nearby assignment at the castle, he will be assisting Rosemaine at the temple. Very hard, and besides, the takeover period isn't that long, thank you."

"I did accept"

The debriefing was concluded by the decision of those who would succeed the clergyman, and the blurring returned deliberately to the conference room. Everyone who gets the topic of celebration, with the exception of some, also leaves the room with a bright expression.

"You've had a lot of reports this year."

"Yeah, the printing industry is going to make a big move next year, so maybe you should say hello to Elvira and talk to her so she can turn your work around from now on"

In working with my uncle, Wilfried and Charlotte, who decided to give the civilians more work to work out, turned to their mother.

With the two backs dropped off, I stand up rattled and turn my foot to the chief cleric, who does not break my makeup and laughter.

"Dear Ferdinand, I need to talk to you."

I want you to let me know what you mean. It was at the same time that I glanced up at the chief clergyman and my adoptive father proceeded to this way.

"That's an odd encounter, Rosemaine. I wanted to talk to Ferdinand, too. Come to my office, both of you."

There was plenty of anger caged in that voice, and I couldn't help but say, "You don't have to put it together!" I wanted to scream.
