Ascendance of a Bookworm

First Lecture Passed

The rapport is over and we go back to the dorm. Thinking while walking out of the small hall was about the children of the old Veronicans. I want you to meet my family, but there's no way I can do that, and this solemn Qing is something I have to do. What more can I do than stop it? What can I do?

"Dear Rosemaine!

"Rymund."

Lymund came from a specialty building on a civilian course with a Hirschühl lab rocking a vine-colored cloak. The surrounding knight apprentices are alert to the advent of the Arlensbach nobility and take a position to make noise and protect the Lordship Candidate.

Lymund gazed as surprised, then took a little distance and called to me.

"Dear Rosemayne, this is a message from Master Ferdinand. Would you like to hear it?

"Is something wrong?!?

"No, because I got a message blown in when I went to show you this magic trick..."

Saying so, Rymund took out his magic equipment. They've made the magic equipment for recording a little smaller. They said it should be more miniaturized, but that's when they blew in a message to us.

"I listen. I'd like to hear it."

As I embarked upon myself, Lymund nodded and touched the part of the demon stone.

"Rosemaine, it's me"

It was definitely Ferdinand's voice that flowed from the magic equipment. I feel so nostalgic even though I've only been a little while since I headed to Arlensbach. But its well-stained nostalgia scratched out to the next word.

"I'm afraid you're neglecting your studies as soon as I'm gone."

...... Yikes! I'm not studying like this!

"I promised you I'd take the best. You, of course, try to see Aerenfest's overall grades drop over last year. I can't forgive you."

Uh-huh! and as I held my cheeks, the voice heard from the magic apparatus only became a little gentle.

"I'm not asking you to improve your grades. Don't drop it, he says. Good as last year. What's so hard about that?

"Just like last year...... Right. I'm starting to feel like I can do something when they say that."

Behind me gripping my fist, Charlotte shrugged softly.

"I don't think my best sister can improve her grades any more..."

"Shh! Keep your mouth shut, Charlotte, because he's motivated."

... Ha! I certainly couldn't raise it any more! Me, deceived!?

Even if I stare at the magic apparatus, the magic apparatus keeps talking in Ferdinand's voice.

"Vilfleet, Charlotte. The same goes for others. Expecting the work I deserve for the protective magic equipment I gave you. Let me tell you the good news about the first day of Aerenfest."

"Gu!"

"Oh no..."

The hurdles are up for Charlotte, who couldn't all pass the first day last year. Charlotte shuddered with a pull at the pressure of pressurizing. If you don't comfort Charlotte, and the moment you reach out, Ferdinand's voice says, "Oh, yeah. Rosemaine," he called me.

... Has your voice been tender to the unpleasant feeling?

I move my gaze from Charlotte to the magic apparatus in Reimund's hands, sounding peculiar to the first time I was unscrupulous.

"If your grades fall, I'll talk to Zilvester and take away the library I gave you. There's no way anyone who can't manage their own library."

"Ooh! I don't like that much, Master Ferdinand!

Though I accidentally cling to the magic appliance, there is no way that the only magic appliance I am recording will compromise me.

Now that no one puts out assignments, and melancholy things like Solemn Qing are happening and the mood is sinking, instead of studying, I haven't even read the book, and even though thinking about my library is the only support of my mind, I die jokingly when it's taken up.

"Ah, that's all the message from Master Ferdinand....... I should still be able to improve, too, but the challenge from Master Ferdinand is tough on each other. Good luck, Master Rosemaine."

That's what Lymund says as he compares me to the magic apparatus in his hands with an indescribable look, and he leaves like a scum and a run.

"What are you gonna do, Rosemaine? If you think about it, you haven't studied at all since you came to the House of Lords."

"Me too, sister."

All three were solemnly taken by consciousness and even completely out of the question of the Performance Improvement Commission. Even though my adoptive father had told me to leave the matter of Solemn Qing to me here, I have not been able at all to do what has to be done in the House of Lords. This is not good. They must be lightning down as soon as they meet Ferdinand in a territorial rivalry.

... My library will be covered when my adoptive father and Ferdinand talk to each other on the spot of a territorial rivalry!

"I don't have time to be worried like this. I have to do everything I can to protect my library!

When I held my fist and cemented my resolve, Wilfried looked at me with a bloody face.

"... hey, wait, Rosemaine. I have a really bad feeling about this."

"It's okay, Brother Wilfried. I'll shake it off if you don't like it."

"No! It's not!

The recurrence of the nightmare pounded Wilfried's shoulder with his head, smiling so that he could feel a little at ease.

"It must be. We haven't started the exam yet. We have time before the beginning of tomorrow's lecture, and we should all be studying over the course of a year."

"... Mmm, right. Library costs the same, but is the situation different from then"

He's nodded several times to convince himself that Wilfried punched Pong in the hand and said, "Besides, it's instructions from his uncle who knows how to use the drama. What the hell is drama? What I don't know is behind me. First of all, we have to win everyone's first day pass.

"We're going to perfect the review and see if there's anything we've forgotten by tomorrow. It's not hard if you just pass."

Rezelator and Brunhilde smile happily with Nico, giving me my back.

"Yes, Master Rosemaine. One that I study hard for a year. We'll all be fine from now on."

"If Aerenfest's ranking falls, he'll still mock you for being temporary, and Master Ferdinand in Aerensbach will have a narrow shoulder, so you have to work hard"

Even the Middle Territories go to the Great Territories. Brunhilde tells me that if my hometown rank falls before the star knot ritual, I will have narrower shoulders than ever before.

"Maintaining grades is important to you, no matter what. Let's do it. We're still gonna make it."

"All right, hurry back and we'll all study together"

"Ha!"

The Lordship Candidate and his proximity walked down the hallway of the central building in a hurry, opening the doors of eight wide.

Wilfried rushed into the multi-purpose hall and said, "We all have to pass tomorrow's exam. Each of you, gather here with your study tools!" Seeing as I speak, I enter the Lesser Bus.

"Leonore, Rhoderich. Tell the children of the old Veronicans to gather in the multi-purpose hall with their study tools."

"... Yes, sir."

Seeing Leonore snort with a hard look, I run up the stairs in the Lesser Bus. And I jumped straight into my own room where Eudit and Filine opened it for me.

"Richarda, prepare your study tools. We're going to study in a multi-purpose hall."

"Yes, I will be ready right now.... And yet, all of a sudden. Is something wrong, Princess?

"Master Ferdinand threatened me. He said he'd take away my library if he dropped Aerenfest's grades."

I tell Richarda I am preparing that Lymund has brought me the magic equipment of the recording.

"You'd think Richarda would be terrible to take away what she gave you once, wouldn't you?

"I thought it was really Ferdinand's concern to build up challenges for the princess even when she left."

"I don't care about that!

When I let him get angry, Richarda gave me the study tool, laughing "I'm laughing at your face for being angry with your mouth, princess," Couscous said.

"I'm talking about Master Ferdinand. If there is punishment for dropping it, there will be rewards for accomplishing the challenge. Don't study hard, Princess."

"Now let Master Ferdinand poke at his astonishing grades and have my library make the magic equipment I need"

... protect the library and I will definitely reward you!

When I held my study tool, I boarded the Lesser Bus again. As soon as you get to the multi-purpose hall, clean up the horseman and ask the neighbors to make a place to study for the Lords Candidate Course. Charlotte is at the sophomore table, so there's only two of us this year with Wilfried.

"Brother Wilfried, let's study here. There are only two Lords Candidate Courses."

"... um. I'll read this first, so Rosemaine can start studying first."

Wilfried dropped his gaze on the wooden plaque he held with a face that didn't seem to feel too comfortable. Leaning my neck, I speak to everyone who gathers in the multi-purpose hall.

"Please take your seats with reference to last year's squad split. Use the table there for freshman year."

As everyone gathered, the children of the old Veronicans came in with a bewildered face with their study tools. He looks around in the multi-purpose hall, stopping in front of the door.

"You guys, it's too late! Please get to your seats quickly."

"That's right. I'm not going to drop Aerenfest's grades. Tomorrow we'll all win our first day."

When me and Wilfried spoke, one child glared at us with kicking, strong eyes.

"I can't help studying when my family might get killed."

The air in the room froze in the words. I'm going to temper you, and me and Wilfried's face, which was looking up, goes down. At the next moment, a glowing band jumped out of Leonore's Starp, one step ahead, to capture the child. Roll around and fall on the spot with bothee.

"Become!?

"Leonore, suddenly what do you do!?

"Don't we have any idea where we stand? What exactly did Matthias and Laurenz do to convince you?

Leonore's blue eyes are a complex color I've never seen before. Mathias, who gave it a surprising look, turned his gaze to me, the Lord of Leonore.

"I thought you said Lady Rosemaine would save the innocent..."

"Yeah, you said it. Lady Rosemayne asked Aub to save the lives of those who had not sinned, and when she told me that the children before baptism were not eligible, she set up an orphanage to receive them."

Leonore was smiling but seemed to have so much enthusiasm within that that the color of his eyes changed that it was increasing in awesomeness.

"Attempted kidnapping against Master Rosemaine, poisoned and put him to long sleep, this time attempted assassination again... I got my hands on the Lords clan. The whole clan is disposed of together, right? Even though you don't have to worry about it if you dispose of it in unison as usual, you can't help a child who hasn't committed a crime or run away, haunt his head and break his heart."

... I usually forgot because I'm quiet and don't claim to be very self assertive, but Leonore was a complete Risegang aristocrat!

There are children of the old Veronicans. Naturally, there are some Risegang children on this occasion. Although the Risegang children are senior aristocrats, basically trying to save them together because they are near the side of the Lords' clan, there seemed to be some dissatisfaction with changing practices within them.

I just think of the mood of the children of the old Veronicans, and I bluish realizing that I hadn't thought about what my proximity was on my side with.

... Oh, I, Lord disqualify!

"Anyone unhappy with avoiding collusive disposition will thus be sent to Aerenfest. Because this is the way it's supposed to be."

With that said, Leonore flickers over his child with a piece of paper that says "unconvincing".

Brunhilde advanced in graceful footsteps as everyone gobbled and breathed in the rage of Leonore, then slipped. Behind it is the leatherette.

"You can't do that, Leonore"

"Brunhilde, don't stop me. For the sake of those who are disposed of and deserve it, I cannot bear any more to see the whole clan of lords being complained of by nobles of various positions by breaking customs and being hit with dissatisfaction by those who are trying to save them even more!

"I'm not going to stop you. We're transferring them in a transfer formation, so it wouldn't make sense to tie them up with magic, would it? We have to use the strings for this capture."

Brunhilde and Lieselator removed the slightly thicker string softly. Lieselator grabs the pin and string and pulls, looking down at the kid who is captured with a serious face as usual.

"Because of this, you don't need someone to get in the way when Rosemayne feels positive and excited to put it together in the dorm. To protect the spiritual health of the Lord, I will exclude you as a sideline."

... I didn't want such a leaselator excellence! Me, health! Because it's healthy, both physically and mentally!

"Yeah, the leaselator is really right. Let's get rid of it. Even the merciful clan of lords are just trying to keep dozens of criminal blood relatives alive, albeit children, while they have tough territorial management in many ways. If you're raising a living nobleman for Aerenfest, there's still no food in Risegang to keep alive criminals who don't even appreciate the clan of lords."

... Ah, Brunhilde was Risegang too! Shit! Our proximity is on a rampage! Somebody, stop!

Awww, I look around, but there's no Haltmoot or Brother Cornelius that seems to make me any better at times like this. As the LORD thought I had to stop, and I tried to get up, the vicinity of Wilfried and Charlotte came in and out.

I looked up to them with anticipation, but they also hold a stamp.

"Master Wilfried was taken out to the White Tower by the children of the old Veronicans, with indelible stains. We're working hard day and night to get a little snow on that stain."

When Alexis, the knight apprentice of Vilfleet, looked around at the children of the old Veronicans, several children appeared to have been involved in the matter, bowed their eyes.

"Master Charlotte was exposed to the nobility of the old Veronicans on the day of the christening ceremony, and I have always been heartbroken that it was my fault that Master Rosemaine, who went out to help, fell asleep for a long time. And we have worked excessively hard to be able to replace Lady Rosemaine, known as the Virgin of Aerenfest."

A hazy glance at Natalier's words gathers in Charlotte. All three Lordship candidates here have suffered disadvantages from the old Veronicans.

"If you are dissatisfied with the response of the Lords clan and do not even intend to show them the degree of effort to pass the first day, after reflecting on what the former Veronicans have done to the Lords clan, this one is perfectly fine with the collusive disposition as is customary. How special do you think we are?

It was the Lords' clan that wanted to save them, and there were more nobles who didn't feel good about breaking the custom, Ignaz mocked the children of the old Veronicans.

"... no. That's, uh, I appreciate it. But if you think about us, have mercy on your father and mother."

It's hard to leave my family. It was almost at the same time that Charlotte took her seat and opened her mouth that I accidentally held my chest to the voice of a freshman who remained tied to Leonore, if I could give her something.

"I have trouble getting such a misguided wish directed here. Wasn't it your family who committed the crime? You can't have never committed a crime you've already committed, and if you're not part of a crime, you won't be disposed of. All we can do is reach out to the innocent."

Criminals are not eligible, Charlotte ran out of clarity as she looked around at everyone with blue eyes.

"Our clan of lords pitied you without sin and showed you the way to survive. We're not the ones choosing first from here. It's you."

... Ugh, Charlotte is cool. I feel kind of protected.

Because I am your sister, I am not protected by Charlotte, but I have to step forward and protect Charlotte and the others, but the other way around.

Not like this. When I stood up, Leonore reached out worried. I hold Leonore's hand and laugh and show him, "It's okay".

"It's not your family that can save me, it's your future. If you are going to lose your family in this Solemnity, you must live on your own. If that happens, grades will be an important weapon to find the next asylum. That's what I've been told since I was raised in the temple, and I've been educated by Master Ferdinand."

Thanks to Ferdinand's constant care of me to acquire upbringing, study, and obtain a better environment, I was not killed by the Earl of Bindebalt as a civilian, but as an adopted daughter of a lord.

"Besides, think about what happens if your family has to dispose of it lightly. Can your grades cause you to significantly lower your overall Aerenfest grades and face your family? Couldn't you believe your family that you couldn't have sinned, could you? Even minor dispositions can be seen with harsh eyes as a criminal's family, but grades are also mandatory if you want to do enough work to support your family."

Matthias got a tough look as the children of the old Veronicans looked at each other as bewildered.

"Dear Rosemaine, I'm worried about leaking information. I'm not in favor of getting them out of the dorm, though for Aerenfest grades"

"Don't be dramatic, Matthias. I received my first report from Aerenfest earlier. Solemn Qing seems to have finished crude. Details of dispositions, etc. will be later, but they just sent the information somewhere during tomorrow's exam, and it doesn't make sense anymore."

Wilfried waved the wooden plaque gently. Stunning eyes are pointed at the wooden plaque.

It was faster than I thought. Looks like the adoptive fathers are in a speed battle.

"It looks like Solemn Qing is over. Come on, choose not. Are you going to study now and win your pass in tomorrow's exam or are you going back to Aerenfest tied up like this? I respect your choice."

All that being said, I immediately take my gaze off the children of the old Veronicans and return to my seat. I really don't have time to lose my grades.

"Neither Brunhilde nor Lieselator should get into studying. Is this the year we're going for excellence?

"Yeah, this is a great year."

Matthias and Laurenz immediately followed suit as the proximates turned themselves over and began their studies. The children of the old Veronicans go into the circle of everyone studying with one and the other as they explore each other's condition.

"Untie me! I study too!

Only one left in front of the door was the boy tied to Leonore. When everyone starts studying, they're leaning like bitches and bouncing fish on a slab.

"Don't you want to go home to Aerenfest's family?

"My family does not sin! I believe."

When Leonore unties him, he runs to the freshman table with his own study tools.

"I will not tolerate one failure to protect my library."

All of Aerenfest attended the first day of lectures the following day, and all won seating passes.

"All freshmen passed!

Theodore, excited about his first passing, gives me a happy report. With joy we had lunch in all the dorms. According to Brunhilde, fifth grade students also take passes at leisure.

"But, Theodore. Not all third-year students pass, they're all full. Ugh."

"Huh?"

The third grade was also a common sitting exam, but it was about writing down all the names of the gods. It was such an easy exam for us to play in Carta and grow up reading Bible pictures that we felt bored.

"Then I'm full of them right now. I want to be a third grader soon, too."

"Eudit, fourth graders are seated in the afternoon."

"Yes. I've been studying for a year. All in common today will pass."

"You should be careful not to accidentally make strange mistakes," tears Eudit's reliable smile. Ordnants jumped in there.

"Dear Rosemaine, this is Solange. The new clerk was more seconded from the center. Would you like to register Schwartz and Weiss, please?

Solange's soft voice echoed three times full of joy. Getting the new clerk to turn from the center is what Solange has always wanted. This eliminates spending the spring to autumn season alone in the library or taking on all of my work.

Looking up at Richarda, who was serving me, Richarda smiled and nodded at me.

"If you just want to register, you can head after dinner. If you can't register for Schwartz and Weiss, the clerk will have more trouble with your job. I just don't have time for the princess to read. May I?

"... hey, just a little, but?

It can't take that long to think about Hildebrandt or when I signed up for Hannelore. You should have time to read a book in a minute. And when I had eaten down and begged him, Richarda sighed.

"When I get the exit signal, I close the book without question."

"Okay."

... Wow. Libraries, libraries!
