Ascendance of a Bookworm

Each Martial Arts Herald Part 1

"Welcome back"

"Welcome, Master Hannelore. We sincerely appreciate Dunkelferger's cooperation."

The sight I saw when my shaky vision returned was the same as when I left, a training ground for knights in the castle. Charlotte and Florencia are welcoming us side by side, but only with minimal sides. I'm guessing Merhior is in the temple, but I don't see Vilfried and your father. My chest rattled at the sight of a different welcome.

"I don't see my adoptive father, my brother Wilfried, Melchior, your father..."

"It was a little quicker than the end of Gerlach's battle, but this one was just finishing up earlier too. Calstead, chief of the Knights, is in the Knights' Stuff. So much so that Wilfried is helping you. Melchior hasn't returned from the temple yet either. Not everyone got hurt badly. It's just not over yet. Don't worry."

We have thrown the post-processing round to the knights of Ahrensbach and the nobles of Gerlach, but we have no place to throw it at Aerenfest. Aub's adoptive father is the chief officer, and the Lords' clan seems to be being pursued at the end of the day. Your father, the Knights Commander, can't keep his face off the feast, so he seems to be in a great mood.

"How was the lower town or the temple? Was there a lot of damage?

"Reports of so much damage have not come in so far.... Don't look so anxious. He said soldiers at the gate and knights who were packing in the temple worked. We should hear from the local neighbors."

I wanted to say hello to Dunkelferger, so I pulled back quietly when he told me to stay away from this. Next to the adoptive father, the adoptive mother and Charlotte also enter to exchange a long greeting with Hannelore in the name of the gods and to express their gratitude for their cooperation.

"... Without the cooperation of the knights of Dunkelferger, it would have been difficult to preserve the foundations. Gerlach's reinforcements were very comforting."

My adoptive father tells me that Hannelore's use of Volchenil in the Lanzenave sweep in Arlensbach and how Ferdinand dealt with the poison he received helped defend Aerenfest. Apparently a line of Georgine let Voorhenil go to the gate. They had knights stationed at each gate, so they didn't take so much care of it, but some soldiers were injured.

... Glad Clarissa and Haltmut's letters seem to have helped.

"If we miss now, it will be difficult to reward the cooperation of the knights of Dunkelferger. I know very much that you took it despite the fact that it was a sudden invitation. After the six bells, there will be a feast celebrating victory in the small hall. Whispering, I'm glad you enjoyed the feast tonight and received Aerenfest's thank you."

When his adoptive father finishes his greetings and thanks to Hannelore and Heishitze, he looks back at his adoptive mother and Charlotte.

"Charlotte, Florencia. Take the Dunkelfergers to the guest room...... It is also ready for cleansing. Enjoy your stay to the six bells."

"I'm afraid so. I wanted to clean up before the feast."

Hannelore laughs as small as she does. After smiling back at Hannelore, his adoptive father turned his gaze to Ferdinand.

"Ferdinand, who also prepared the rooms"

"... Guest room? Oh, yeah."

After Ferdinand looked puzzled for a moment, he glanced at me. Even if they say "welcome back," Ferdinand has given me the house to return to. You must have remembered that your house doesn't exist. You want to give Ferdinand back to Aerenfest, but that I have taken his place. This shouldn't be it.

"Dear Ferdinand, please use the library"

"No, that's..."

"Don't worry, I will use the castle room. I leave your room intact. Master Ferdinand would be more comfortable with the place he's used to, wouldn't he? If you need medication, you can use the workshop or materials as you like. If possible, show Razapham you're safe."

Hannelore looked strange when I suggested that Ferdinand use the library room.

"Is there a room for Master Ferdinand in Master Rosemayne's library?

"Yep. My library was originally Ferdinand's. When I was supposed to go to Arlensbach, I inherited it and made it into a library."

There are many books, and I give Hannelore the pride of My Library. Most of them are Ferdinand's books, but I don't mind.

"Dear Hannelore, I naturally didn't have a wife or a son on my way to Arlensbach by royal decree. When I thought about who would inherit the hall I had given away from my father, it was just appropriate to give it to my guardian, Rosemaine.... To be honest, I didn't think you'd still have a room"

I turned away from my face with a slightly shuddering voice.

"Didn't you say that you would leave your room so that Master Ferdinand could return home at any time at will?

"I don't expect such promises to be kept forever. It's about you. I thought you'd soon be eroded with books?

"I still don't have enough books to erode. I'm trying my best to print it..."

I want enough books to stick out of that library. Ferdinand exhaled lightly as I walked through my thoughts on the enrichment of the library.

"If my room is still there, my room will calm down better, but are you really better off even if I use it?

"Of course it is. I also have a room in the castle. I'll contact Rutherfam so he can get ready to pick you up at Ordnants, right? After that, I will see what happens to the lower towns and temples."

Looking around at the lower towns and temples, going back to the castle to prepare… and thinking about the next steps, Ferdinand cautioned me to "wait".

"What if you leave the guests you brought in yourself? There seems to have been no major damage to the lower town or the temple, so keep it to hear from the sides today, and it's tomorrow morning to look around. We don't have that much time before the six bells when the feast starts."

I don't have time to think about taking a bath, getting dressed, or listening to reports from the neighbors. I fly Ordnants to Razapham and ask him to accept the three Ferdinand, Brother Eckhardt and Justkus. I got a response from Razapham right away. They're already ready to hear that Ferdinand is safe through the Rezelators and will be back for the feast.

"You're brilliant, Razafam."

"I educated you. Naturally."

Hung and I were laughed at with our noses as if we were good at it, so I and "because the leaselators are excellent" against each other.

"... Um, Aub Aerenfest. Do you two always look like this?

Hannelore and Heishitze look like they were taken aback. "… generally as usual," murmured his adoptive father, who let his gaze wander slightly to look for answers to what to answer.

"Welcome back, Master Rosemaine. You're safe."

Three people greeted me: Otilier, Lieselator and Greater. It seems that Lieselator and Gretia had received my return contact from Charlotte and had come back from the library to prepare me. The invited are not the only ones bewildered by the sudden invitation. It's hard to serve those who have to be ready to accept.

"Brunhilde is running to get ready for Dunkelferger's room, and Bertilde is being driven out to help you there. I'll be on my way."

When Otilier finished his greeting face-to-face with everyone who had returned, he left the room early with a slight blind eye to the figure of his son, Hartmoot, and his fiancée, Clarissa. He really wanted to make sure everyone was safe, and he was sticking around here.

"Master Rosemayne is going to take a bath in the water, so why don't you take turns for the escort knights and go back to the dorm? If you're going to the feast, you're going to have to get dressed, right?

The escort knights nodded at Lieselator's words and began to set the order. Verifying it sideways, I head with Gretia to the bathroom. The hair decoration was removed and Greater Tier began to carefully untie the hair that had been tied.

"I also contacted the temple, so I think by the time Lady Rosemaine finishes her bath, Eudit and the others will be back."

"... Hey, Greater. What was this battle like? Didn't anyone get hurt?

"We were in the library, and thanks to the magic tools to protect the library that Master Rosemayne left behind, we felt no particular signs of battle"

Ordnants fly from the lower towns and temples, so they found out the battle had begun and ended, but no damage was done to the library at all.

"There was no sign of a battle, but Dermuel brought Gutenberg and his family to the library in the morning, who have Lord Rosemaine's amulet. I was surprised when all of a sudden a lot of civilians arrived."

Darmuel seemed to have felt a visit earlier than Georgine had arrived, and he moved the Gutenbergs to the safest library with my protective magic equipment.

"... Darmuel kept us all as promised."

"Yes. I was impressed that the family of hair decorators were keeping their amulet with Dermel, who wanted him to give it to his father. We started creating hair decorations and costumes if we didn't do what we could because Rosemayne's amulet and Darmuel would protect our father."

By the time Greater untied her hair and began to make her take off her riding beast clothes, Rezelator had also come.

"Oh, is this today's story? There were also a few Gilberta Chamber of Commerce needles among those who had taken refuge in the library, but they were bringing Rosemaine's costumes and hair decorations to the library as the most important items to be evacuated. I have to make some temporary stitches, but I wonder what would be convenient for Lady Rosemaine? And I was working on it. We have to get in touch."

The figure of Thuri and Corinna, who were desperately working, came to my attention. He seemed to be moving his hands because if he hadn't done something, he would be anxious, and of course there would be a realistic problem with the impending delivery date. But it seemed an unexpectedly peaceful sight that my Gutenbergs were evacuating to the library in the aristocratic district and doing their work.

"The people at the Plantan Chamber of Commerce were keen to visit the interior of the building and the library. Looks like he was looking for a place to eat or a book reference. He said he had never looked closely at a new Aerenfest book, although he knew it well because he was making it and selling it."

At the end of the bath, Eudit and Filine were back. They both look fine. It seems that Rhoderich is waiting outside the room with the male escort knight because my change of clothes has not finished.

"Looks like the library was safe, but did the temple become a place for battle?

After Filine nodded with a hard look at my question, she said, "Um, but everyone in the orphanage is safe. Because by the time the three bells rang, Ordnants flew in from Dermuel and evacuated them as trained," he continues. Ordnands flew to the library and evacuated the Gutenbergs. The temple was evacuating the orphans, he said. Eudit nodded as well, who seemed to have guided the orphans together and kept in touch with Merhior's proximity.

"I replaced the temple gatekeeper with a knight from a gray cleric and put him on watch with the Schmills of sorcery. After a while, Darmuel contacted me that an enemy had appeared at the west gate."

... Wow, that's kind of a darmuel thing to do.

Darmuel was on guard of the lower town, so he should have been closest to information on the enemy attack, but still, I can't help but feel Darmuel's struggle when I hear his name in the library and in the temple.

"I was riding the horseman and looking down into the lower town. I heard a noise at the west gate, and even though they were telling me to evacuate, I knew the battle was really starting because I could see the civilians who were out there fleeing."

He saw the knights positioned at each gate in the lower town moving to the west gate, and wanted to go for an addition if Eudit could too. But it is the protection of the Temple that Eudit was entrusted to. He said he was staring at the West Gate where the fuss was happening.

"As I watched downtown, I noticed a wagon moving strangely."

It was around the time of the three bells that Darmuel flew the alert Ordnants, and the West Gate became noisy, he said, before the four bells rang. By the time the noise started at the West Gate, there were fewer people on the streets, and the farmers who had brought vegetables in their luggage cars were apparently just out of the gate and heading back to their countryside or to a shelter in the south.

"By the time the four bells were close, the north side of the city was full of stores with closed doors. At that hour there was a carriage headed north of the city."

What caught Eudit's eye, who was concerned about the West Gate and was somewhat of a ride out, was the wagon he was traveling to sew up the alley, he said.

"When I thought it stopped in the shadow of the alley and it no longer looked unexpected, I saw a few figures approaching the north gate a little bit. There was no silver costume, but I thought the West Gate might be moving, and I sent Ordnants to the knights who would protect the aristocracy."

That's what Eudit said looking good at. Eudit's right, he said, and a few shadows put out a fight attitude by who gets done or denied or horseback.

"But that was also a positive move. The back gate of the temple was broken open as Ordonanz flew in that battle began here and there."

Apparently, as many common mouths as people could pass through were blown up, and enemies came aboard with a bunch of demon-petrifying poison magic equipment, flash bombs, and more.

"The knights' lives were safe with an instant vachen or a drink of Jurevé, since Master Rosemayne had been informed of how to deal with it by letters from Haltmut and Clarissa that arrived in the space of about two days after he headed to Arlensbach"

However, they had to drink Yulevé, so the battle was supposed to rely on the Schmirs. They also poisoned Eudit, who was wandering over the temple gate. Apparently, the knights immediately activated the Schmirs as a state of emergency.

"The Schmills were really strong. Of the enemies that the five of us came in, one had a silver cloth perfectly all over his body, and Schmir seemed unrecognizable, so he entered the temple, but the other four were all defeated by a pink Schmir and a water-coloured Schmir rushing through a large gate for the carriage."

They say the attack by combat specialists Schmir and the others was just an early start to electrolithic fires.

"The fast moving of Schmills as they slaughter their enemies one after the other with a golden sickle of magic equipment. It's a battle until we run out of magic, so I'm sure we have to finish it fast, but we truly stumbled on our enemies in no time. I took a lot of blood back and got dirty, so I vachented it."

"Oh, thank you. I know, Eudit."

Eudit says with a smile he seems to be good at, but I'm afraid to imagine Schmir and the others dyed red with return blood.

"We have contacted Lady Merhior that there is only one person who put together a silver costume and headed to the temple. Later, I just heard the report, but one of them was put in some traps by Mr. Georgine and eventually moved to the White Tower."

Apparently Eudit hasn't seen the library scene. He said he wanted Melchior and his side to hear more about it.

"Speaking of which, among those defeated by Schmir and others, was Graozam, the father of Matthias."

"Huh? Is it Graozam?

"I'll leave it to Lady Rosemaine to report to Matthias or not."

... we defeated Graozam in Gerlach, didn't we?

I remember leaning my neck. Matthias did say, "There are three shadow fighters".

... the Shadow Warrior? Which one of them is real?
