Chapter 88. Suicide
Southern Continent.
Eldorath Empire.
Hessington State.
Fulco City.
Hervora District.
Vhorn Manor.
Occasional bangs reverberated from outside a door for a long time.
"How long has it been since they last came out?"
Someone outside the door said.
"It’s been several weeks. They’ve remained cooped up in their bedroom for too long. We are worried that something may have happened to them," another replied.
"Sigh... after the young master disowned them, they’ve been very depressed."
"Don’t blame the young master for this. His life has been better without them. It was hell for him when he was here. Have you forgotten the kind of bad treatment the young master endured? Have you forgotten that among other gruesome things, they personally whipped him when he failed to memorize or complete certain tasks?"
"I even remember an occasion where the young master was starved and only survived on water for two months. Just because he could not spell a word right!"
"You are right! Their actions on that day before the rank 1 gate sealed the deal. I think initially, the young Lord just wanted to be independent of them after he became a warrior. But, what they did that day sealed the deal for him. They don’t deserve to be parents at all."
"Yeah. They are not victims."
"Shhh. What if they hear us?"
"They are not warriors. You think they have super hearing or what?"
Bang!!!!
With one last forceful push with a metallic object, the door forced open.
The group of workers in the Vhorn Manor entered the room.
The place was very filthy. Clothes and objects were scattered across the place.
The only light in the room was the light from the TV.
"Something smells here. Something rotten," someone said.
"Arrrghhhh!" The person screamed as they stumbled over something.
"No way... it’s the master and mastress. They are...they are..."
"What .."
The others rushed towards the worker who had screamed.
She was currently seated on the ground in fear. Did someone kill them?
One of the workers, a more experienced person, sighed when he saw the couple sprawled on the ground lifelessly.
"Look at their wrists? They committed suicide," he said.
Everyone looked at the wrists of the couple.
They had taken their own lives. Blood had pooled beneath their wrists and sharp cuts were at where their wrists were.
"Looking at the nature of the wound, they killed themselves yesterday," the worker sighed.
"There’s a letter here on the table." Someone took a letter from the table and brought it to the others.
The letter read: "We can’t live with this guilt, especially on seeing that we pushed our own son away. We can’t watch him succeed when we can’t be a part of his life. His maternal and paternal grandparents were normal people who lived good lives, and raised us well till they died of natural causes. How is it that we could not do the same for our son? Our selfishness led to our deaths. Aiden, if you see this, we are sorry. We have regretted everything we did to you! We did not kill ourselves to make you feel bad or guilty or sorry for us. We simply can’t keep on living anymore.
Is this the kind of suffocating life you had to live under our roof? Now that we are constantly criticised under the expectations of others because of how we treated you, only now do we have an inkling of how you felt.
We know you won’t take anything from the Vhorn Business from us even if we leave you anything behind. So we donated everything to an orphanage. The company has also been shut down. Live your life as it pleases you, Aiden."
The workers of the manor sighed.
"We need to at least get this to the young master," someone said.
"I have his old number. I don’t know if he’s still using it," someone said.
"Alright..let’s send the pictures of their corpses, alongside the letter to him. Even though he has disowned them, he at least deserves to know they are dead."
"Right."

Southern Continent.
Eldorath Empire.
Hessington State.
Derulo International Airport/ Entrance.
Snow drifted heavily from above.
Several individuals clad in hoodies walked past the place. It was snowy, but as usual, the airport was busy. It was an international airport. Derulo City was also one of the largest cities in the empire, and it was where one of the best Warrior Universities across the empire was.
The city never slept.
A cab pulled to a stop. A few seconds later, a brown haired fellow with green eyes in a hoodie, jeans and sneakers stepped out. He nodded politely to the driver and stood by the side.
Suddenly, his phone buzzed.
Aiden’s calm eyes narrowed slightly and eased.
He didn’t feel happy. But he didn’t feel sad either. He was not angry either. When he severed ties with them, he meant it. He was not emotionless.
But Aiden had a different concept of family. Because of the kind of treatment he had endured from them growing up, Aiden had come to a realization early.
Family was not merely those who were related to you by blood. Someone could be related to you by blood and treat you worse than an enemy would. Someone could be unrelated to you by blood, and treat you very well.
Falan and William may have brought him into the world, but they were not family, not after he came to that conclusion after everything they did to him, and he disowned them.
Aiden typed a message on his smartphone.
Do with the Vhorn Manor as you please.
Also, how you handle their bodies is up to you.
Thank you!
Aiden sent the message to the worker at the Vhorn Manor who sent him the suicide note and the picture of the corpses.
Then, he walked into the airport.

Meanwhile, at the entrance of Derulo City University.
A car was parked somewhere in front of a restaurant.
Four people were seated in it.
"It’s been several hours since we came here. We need to send notice back to the Vermin guild. Aiden Vhorn has no intention of leaving campus. Had he left campus, we would have spotted him," a guy with a scar on his face said.
"I thought Vermin wanted to wait till he brought his organisation to order before he dealt with Aiden Vhorn," another person said. "To think he’s suddenly put such a large bounty on Aiden Vhorn. He actually hired legendary rank 2 assassins like ourselves to deal with him."
"Well.. some of our fellow Assassins are saying that they also received bounties from the other guilds and Conglomerates in the city he has a beef with it. It seems they’ve adjusted their plans. Considering his rapid increase in strength, they are estimating that if they don’t make some sacrifices and hire us to deal with him now, he will become too strong to handle in the future," someone said. "They can’t also deal with him openly since he has the backing of his friends’ parents who are major guild owners and business tycoons. Not to mention he’s also openly backed by Pamela Ashira. They can only resort desperately to assassinations. But it doesn’t look like he’s stupid enough to leave campus. The guy is a scheming bastard."
Everyone nodded.
They didn’t know that Aiden had left campus by disguising himself as another person.
"If he does not come out by the close of the day, we should report to Vermin that he’s cooked up on campus and is unwilling to leave. We can’t keep wasting our time here for nothing when other bounties are available."
"Yeah."
The other assassins who were also searching for Aiden Vhorn across the city also reached the same conclusions.
Aiden Vhorn had outsmarted Vermin Guild and the others again.
