Chapter 932. Frontline With The Nexus.
The Nexus was surprised that the Golden Sap Empire would start a war against them, but they were not fearful. While it was not a full frontal assault like the previous times, Zaros made sure to create some frontlines and threaten the Nexus’s Solar Systems.
The Nexus stopped the nonsense and sent two non- Level 300+ individuals in their direction. Noticed when they arrived thanks to a stealth-type Star Reaching Starship keepin an eye on ambushes.
When the two Level 300+ people rushed into the battlefield, intending to destroy a massive section of the army with an ambush and their imense strength, Zaros grinned like an evil indivual.
"Now. ."
It wasn’t just the soldiers.
The Star Reaching starships were living beings who deeply believed in their mother as both their creator and biological mother. So, the poured a massive part of Liu Shu’s stats onto them.
Sarluce didn’t even hesitate. Her engines roared to life, and her massive figure boomed forward, covering hundreds of thousands of kilometers in a matter of seconds.
The two Level 300+ individuals were not met with a panicky army that retreated, but one that looked at them like delicious prey. Feeling something was wrong, but by the time they realized, Sarluce was in front of them, her main cannon shining like a newly born star and covering their entire vision.
"Disappear."
WHOOOM!!!
Sarluce’s attack was just the begning. Around 100 other Star Reaching Starships had also charged at them fearlessly and fired their main weaponry.
BOOOOM!!!!!
It felt as if a literal star had manifested in the middle of the void. The Nexus army, who had thought the battlefield would lean their way with the appearance of the two Level 300 individuals, was utterly shocked when they saw them turn around and flee!
Forget fighting back, the first volley of attacks had shaved of over 40% of the Phoer Star Essence! If they remained and fought, they would die!
"What in the corrupted hell are those starships!?"
"The report said they were abnormal, but not ’even a Level 300 would die’ levels of abnormal! For now, shut up and flee into the our army!"
Sarluce, though, would not let them escape that easily. "Engine Burst! ."
Sarluce didn’t summon a massive lance. Instead, Light Aether Mana surged around her body, and her figure boomed forward, transforming into a mountain-dwarfing spear of light!
Weapons? Sarluce herself was her strongest weapon!
WHOOOOSH!
Her body tore through the void like an artist slashing a white line on a dark canvas, closing in and striking at one of the Level 300 individuals.
Seeing the massive starship coming, the man panicked. "W-What the!? !"
His aether mana churned and surged, creating a gigantic barrier of darkness for Sarluce to collide with. The collision was earth-shattering. If a world had been nearby, the shockwave alone would’ve peeled its surface off.
Sarluce tore through the defense, her gigantic body slamming against the man. It felt as if the powerful strike had stopped the world for a moment, only to resume right after.
"OUGH!"
BOOM!
[-1,035,481,000,000!!!] (-10,354,810!!!) (103.5!!!)
A massive damage number flashed in his vision with blood-red numbers before his body was blasted backward faster than the speed of light. His organs collapsed, and pain coursed throughout his entire body.
Thankfully, the impact had thrown him into the Nexus army’s midst, so he was safe. Still, his body was impossible to stop and eventually crashed into a Nexus Mothership-Class ship.
BANGG!!!!
The shields rippled from the impact, and the Level 300 saw the world shake as he coughed up a mouthful of blood.
Sarluce transformed back into her starship shape and slowly turned around at Zaros’s command, spoken through laughter. "That was awesome, Sarluce. Good job. Let’s return to formation."
Sarluce answered with a serious yet happy tone. "Yes, Commander!"
Back among the Nexus ranks, everyone stared at the Level 300 powerhouse, their eyes shaking. What did they just see? Sarluce was a massive ship, but her agility surpassed anything they’ve seen before!
His companion arrived, his face still lingering with fear. "You... How much damage did that last blow do? You tanked a runaway Mothership-Class starship charging at you."
"O-One hundred Phoer Star Essence. Cough!"
"One hundred!?"
That was about 10% of their total Phoer pool! Theoretically, they could be killed in ten blows? Them? Level 300 powerhouses?
The man received healing spells and recovered to his peak swiftly. ’If I had been hit without protection...’
He didn’t dare imagine. Still, he knew that his initial plans would need to change deeply. ’They have the ants to help them in the front lines. They have those freaky starships. I can even see one or two Fortress-Class starships in the distance. Their individual strength is also higher than ours. Their technology has already either caught up or perhaps surpassed ours. Our only advantage is that they do not have individuals.’
Looking at Sarluce floating at the front lines, her white-and-gold hull gleaming menacingly as she fired lasers and beams across the battlefield, he cursed under his breath. ’What the hell matters if they don’t have Level 300 individuals? Those monstrous starships go against all logic!’
If it were a Mothership-Class starship from the Covenant, he could’ve gone alone and punched a hole in its shields, destroying it single-handedly. Did he dare do the same to Sarluce?
’I might be the one who ends up with a hole punched through me!’
Worse, the two Moon Soul Fortress-Class had yet to attack. They were behind the army, their massive frames dwarfing even Sarluce, yet their presence was large enough to pressure them.
One of them was shaped like an oval disk, its upper and lower disks rotating in opposite directions.
The other Moon Soul Fortress-Class was more complex. It had a large frontal spearhead and several arms spreading out from the sides behind it. They both looked absolutely terrifying.
The Golden Sap Empire could feel it as well. Each time they fought or approached, the soldiers’ gazes would often drift behind them, and their lips would arch. ’You are afraid of them? You do well to be. If those two join, you are done.’
One of them spoke in a soft, gentle voice. "Little Sarluce, was your hull damaged from that impact? If you are damaged, come here and let Big Sister fix you."
For the Star Reaching ships, the Moon Soul fortresses were like gentle Big Sisters who handled their maintenance and gave them a place to rest. So, they usually acted like pampered little sisters with them.
Sarluce’s serious tone softened a touch. "Hehe. Don’t worry, Big Sister Leilune! I repaired the damage right away~!"
Zaros also spoke up. "Leilune, Gefiul, do you two want to join?"
Leilune, the disk-shaped Fortress-Class, answered with gentle laughter. "Don’t worry, Commander. We both prefer staying behind in case any of the little ones need repairing. The battlefield looked overwhelmingly in our favor as well. Don’t worry about us and continue with your tactics."
Gefiul’s voice was sharper, but it was more like a worried mother scolding her adored child. "That’s right, Zaros. Don’t be irresponsible. We are here to assist, not participate. If you ever feel pressure, we will join. However, until then, let the little girls play around as they please."
Zaros raised his hands. "Alright, alright. This frontline is basically solved, so I was asking to give you two some Experience Points."
Gefiul snorted. "We earn enough passively and following Mother’s Level. Worry about yourself. What if our army commander doesn’t reach Level 300 when others do? You’ll need to be replaced."
The people in the control room burst into laughter, and one advisor smirked at Zaros. "Lady Gefiul is right, you know? Lord Zaros, you’ve become a touch complacent."
Zaros sighed with a groan and stood up. "Alright, alright. I’ll go join the front lines for a while. You are in charge in the meantime."
The Sylvan bowed gently and sat in Zaro’s seat. "Sarluce, I’ll be in your care."
"Transferring Commander rights to General Dalrune! Mothership-Class Sarluce is at your orders, General!"
The Sylvan patted the seat and shooed Zaros away. "Go, go. We’ll take good care of Sarluce."
Zaros shook his head and shot up toward the ceiling. Sarluce swiftly opened a human-sized hole, let Zaros out, and closed it right after. Dalrune snorted. "Can’t he go out through the normal extraction points?"
Sarluce giggled, and someone in the control room spoke up. "Sarluce, I am changing the screens to follow Commander Zaros. Don’t waste your own processing effort on it. We will take care of it. We are also taking charge of armament sector 3 to assist him."
"Understood."
His fingers swiftly moved through the commands, and part of the screen around them changed to follow Zaros. Other people also became more active, controlling part of Sarluce’s weaponry to track Zaros’s surroundings.
Zaros arrived at the front lines, summoning a shield and a massive double-headed axe. His eyes sharpened as he rushed toward the front lines without disturbing the combat zones. Looking around, he saw they were not without fatalities. But for each death, the enemy lost several hundred.
’Our armies are now closer in number, and our number of powerhouses is superior to theirs. The only reason we are not completely crushing is that Liu Shu’s order was not to conquer, but to create a battlezone.’
In short, push slowly, but push surely. Minimize deaths, minimize damage, but make sure the Nexus feels the pressure without becoming panicky. ’This is basically a massive Experience Point farm Liu Shu created for our people.’
At this rate, Level 300s will start appearing on Liu Shu’s side soon. His body dove forward, his gaze silently checking the nearby Level 200+ individuals and the two Level 300s.
’Those two are hesitating. Good, Sarluce’s attack has shocked them, and now they are afraid. This will once more lower our side’s casualties by a lot.’
When he arrived, Zaros swung his double-headed massive axe. His muscles bulged out, and his hand gripped tightly at his weapon. Those nearby quickly felt the danger and looked over.
Sadly, it was too late.
Phoer Star Essence and Aether Mana surged within him, creating a brilliant spectacle.
"."
A simple name, but the effects were anything but.
SLASH!
BOOM!
Two nearby powerhouses were caught off guard and took the attack head-on. In front of Zaros, the dimension split open, creating a massive spatial rift that crushed their flesh and organs.
The system began pinging in Zaros’s mind.
[You’ve defeated...]
[You’ve defeated...]
[You’ve defeated...]
...
Those in the control room gulped. "I always forget because the Grand Commander is sitting in the back, but his strength is truly outrageous."
Dalrune snorted. "Do you think that just anyone can climb up to the Grand Commander position of our Golden Sap Empire? I heard he even matched Lady Heavenly Willow’s wives in a one-on-one spar for quite a while before being defeated. Lady Tempestria was even in her Sylvan Transformation state. Lord Zaros is a monstrous combatant."
Everyone else nodded, their memories refreshing.
