Ashes and Kingdoms

4-4. Bandit sweep battle

Happy or unhappy, Dilgius did not allow the formation of a crusade.

Instead, he imposed a scouting mission to locate the bandit's root castle only by sentry first. You don't have to worry about getting stabbed from behind by your allies, but if you're poorly explored and noticed, there can be total annihilation. Of course, I guess that's what Dilgius's secret desire is.

The row proceeded south down the street, equipped with a small light shield just in case. If the forest is the root castle of a bandit, there is a lookout somewhere that threatens to shoot an arrow. So if we're heavily equipped, we'll just make a gusha gusha metal noise and let them know we exist.

Finn kept walking about the rear of the line with an anxious look on his unfamiliar shield.

Eventually, as I approached the branch that the farmer was saying, the smell of smoke drifted faintly from somewhere. A few people stop, and the rest also notice and smell the air. Valt snapped.

"Near here seems certain."

Looking over the tree, the smoke hasn't leaked. Are you saying that wisdom turns enough to keep you from understanding where you are? It's a nasty opponent, Finn said. Speaking of which, I didn't even notice the guys lurking on the other side of the hill when they attacked me before I went into Winnea until then.

Although I had a bad feeling, I still couldn't say, let's go home. There may be Tetna's children. At least I want to make sure my voice is the only one.

At Captain Valt's direction, the troops split into a few men, quietly stepping into the back of the tree. The air containing the smell of earth and beasts is starving among the trees.

Finn gazed at his ears, not to miss the slightest sign, and proceeded one by one. The bird wings and the lizard shadow quickly blurs his feet.

(Where are you?)

Before we find him, we have to find him. I was in a hurry.

Eventually, Valt, going forward, looked back and invited him. Everyone, quietly, but in a hurry, rush over there.

At the tip of the captain's finger there was a small vacant lot and a few crude cabins were built. A hut that just dug shallow ground and combined round thickness and covered the top with grass and dead branches. If there's a little strong wind, they're going to fly.

There are several robbers and horses connected near the cabin. It would be their loot. Incineration covered with cida was still dull, and things like pots and skewers had been left behind. There is no shadow.

Are you paying it out, or have they noticed?

Valt looked around at the vacant land with a rugged face and toured. Anyway, I know where it is, so do we go back out here? Or if we destroy their castle in this gap...

And that was then.

"Come on, get some water! Go, curse!

I tried to get slapped out by the curse, and the kid came out of one of the cabins as he greeted me. Ha, and Finn wasn't the only one who took a breath. I'm an orphan of Tetna. I heard someone calling his name in my mouth.

Dirty, lean and decaying children flutter across empty spaces with heavy barrels incompatible with their bodies.

Uncomfortable, one of the soldiers called in a whisper. But it doesn't reach vain faced children. Another soldier picked up the pebble and threw it at the child's feet. Nobody stopped it.

Finally the child realizes and sees the flying one of the pebbles with a surprised face...

"Ah...!

I stood there frozen. Then I rush back to the cabin. Fortunately, there was no response from inside. During one breath, the child was confused because he could not judge the situation. but he ran back to me and said no. Spill tears without raising your voice.

The first soldier I called greets me with both arms extended. All he saw was a rushing child. I was also not at all aware that I had left the shade of the trees and stepped out into the vacant land.

Finn was staring at the kid, trying to get himself out of the way, too. But just a few moments later, Vun, and a slight roar struck his ear.

"Get down!"

Shortly after Finn and Valt screamed at the same time, one arrow pierced the child's throat. A soldier jumped out to hold the child turns his left hand as the arrow flew. And as it was, he glanced at the arrow that followed him in the face, how he fell.

"You're taking it off, idiot!

I don't see him, but the wild and ridiculous rose from behind the cabin. Answer me. From somewhere on the left, I would have guessed the second one, but the screaming sounds.

While stunned too, Valt dragged his fallen companion into the bush and took charge. I know I can't breathe anymore, but I can't leave you.

"We're getting away!

I command you short with whispers. But to the bandits, I had no intention of forgiving it.

"Oh, there! Shoot him in!"

At the same time as the decree, the arrows poured through the lurking vicinity of the sentry. The aim is mostly bullshit, but the effect of sealing the escape leg was sufficient.

"No, Valt, they're surrounded!

"Damn it!

With the curse, Valt dropped his buddy's body on the ground. After the shooting, the bandits showed up and attacked us.

"Stupid bastard showed up!

"I already found it when I came down the street, you idiot!

Mockery starts attacking one foot ahead. The sentry was prepared in a circle, but soon after the blade and blade exchanged, the formation also collapsed.

Finn, who was used to fighting in the open place, was struggling with the amount of things he could see. The bushes sway in the movement of men, and leaves and twigs fly. The noise, unlike the flat ground, makes extra noise everywhere. Still, only the enemy in front of me managed to clean it up.

You can't even think about what happened to your buddies, knock one down, knock two down. At the time of the third person, there was room to recall that it was a familiar face. Listening to the surrounding sounds in a corner of my consciousness has also allowed me to do a little.

So, when I finally took a breath and looked around, my people were scattered. The closest I was was to it was it or Euches...

(Not good!)

He was being targeted by bandits lurking in the bushes right around the corner with their backs full of gaps.

That's all I saw was moments. But the next time we took action, it took longer than that.

There's been a stray. Help or abandon.

Realizing his stray, Finn was determined to help him instantly so as to deceive that guilt. But you may not hear me screaming behind you, and the defense won't make it when I turn around. The only effective means, ironically, was once chosen by Igros.

"Eucis!"

Yelling, Finn threw his sword at the bandit. This is a move you can do because the sword of a legion soldier is made shorter with a more practical focus than it looks.

A surprisingly turned Euches solidified the axe in front of him, still trying to be swung down. but fortunately Finn's sword came first.

The bandit collapses after leaking his mundane voice. Euches watched it as if it had slipped through his heart.

Finn, meanwhile, was attacked by a newbie who saw him let go of his weapon and was defending himself with only a shield.

"Euches, come on!

Finn leaves his eyes on the enemy, screaming desperately. As I did, I expected the flying sword to be returned to its owner. But Euches was not Finn.

"What? Oh, thanks!

Finn was in danger of weakening when he was thanked for being out of place. I glance at Euches for a moment in frustration over what the hell I'm blurring at at a time like this. That was life saving.

Either way, Euches couldn't even think of pulling Finn's sword out, leaving his mouth half-open and being lost without any judgment.

Finn was stunned, and shortly afterwards he realized with his own hands that he had failed.

About a decent blow to the right flank, rolling over to flank. I didn't realize I screamed. His vision glows red and tickles, and his dizziness and intense pain strike him. I can't get up while I'm down. Still reflexively, Finn shielded himself and took the sword of a bandit who was constantly attacking him. One left arm could not support him, and when accompanied by his right hand, his flank burned to pain by the impact that transmitted his arm.

"Phineas!"

Someone screamed. My head gangs. As soon as the heavy pressure on the shield disappeared unexpectedly, the force fell out of Finn's arms. Feel the weight of your hands falling to the ground like other personnel. His right hand unconsciously searched for the wound and held it down with the palm of the. Even though it's obvious there's nothing I can do about it.

A broken rib touched my hand. Hot blood spills from between my fingers.

Damn it, Finn ate his teeth and cursed himself. Damn it, damn it, I can't believe you're dying like this. I don't want to die, I want to die...

The same words circle around my head. I could see Valt calling right next to me, but I can't hear what he's saying because his ears just scream.

(Nellis)

My sister's face flashed behind her brain. Then my adoptive parents laughed.

(Not once, father and mother... didn't call)

Regrettably, Finn tried to think about everyone in the corner of his paralyzed head. If I'm going to die anyway, I want to die thinking about the people I care about. But when I concentrated my remaining consciousness slightly, the thread of “connection” that goes through my mind swayed with Vin and disappeared from my family.

"Finn!"

A girl's voice echoed in her ear. White, blurry light shines on the vision that was getting dark. The pain went away and Finn opened his eyes round.

"...... lei...... na"

The voice that leaked out of his throat was so flimsy that it didn't seem like it belonged to him. On purple lips, earthy cheeks, pounding and hot Shizuku fall. Large tears, glistening in Lena's own light.

"Don't die, Finn, please! Don't die!

I would be happy if I could, but I didn't have enough energy left. Skewing the ends of your lips to create a grin is the best you can do.

"No, Finn, no..."

Lena shrugged, shook her head, and then shouted abruptly.

"Don't leave me alone! I'll be by your side for the rest of my life, please swear to God, right now!!

……

Finn leaned his heart and neck in obscurity. At least, I meant to do that myself. I can't believe I've only got a few moments left in my life.

"Quick!!

Lena's true cry overlapped with her earlier self. I don't know what you're talking about, but you shouldn't be thinking about it. No such respite has been granted.

"Okay."

Finn whispered in a blurred voice. I may not even have until I'm done with it, but the time I've been left to myself,

"With you... together, I'm here"

Yes, since I died on it. Because Lena is a spirit, she might pick up my soul by discerning it in the dark Yellow Springs Road. Then,

"Ever......"

I can stay with you. Ever, ever.

Slowly the lid came down, but Lena's scream stopped it.

"Swear!

At that time, Finn's physical sensation was almost gone, and I even thought it was kind of lame, funny, etc. Sounds like we're going to have a wedding just before we die.

Gathering the power to remain, Finn voiced only one word required.

"I swear."

- That, right after.

So much impact that the heavens and the earth reversed hit all the sensations of the fins, overwhelming them, smashing them to pieces and burning them down.
