Ashes and Kingdoms

5-5. Shitsuji/Lost

Shitsuji, where the streets from Winnea aimed at Karsumu and the crossroads linking East and West, had a simple accommodation run by farmers in one hassle.

Once busy with the people who come and go, there too, is now completely idle. On the east side of the road are stables and rest stops, behind which houses of farmers and warehouses and work huts are built. Thus, a line that followed the sidewalk from the northeast was able to sneak into the warehouse without fear of being found by a few travellers passing through the main street to Karsum. Of course, it was only with the guidance of the Lord of the building that it was.

After the fugitives were brought in, the LORD went out with a hammer. Nearly twenty pairs of shoes clean the dirty streets to the right place and rebuild the grass trampled down from the side of the road towards the warehouse. In the meantime, the farmer's wife prepared a trap of water in a row.

Tired soldiers sit there already, washing their faces and hands. There came two figures from the mother house.

"Brother!

Hugging Nellis, who jumped as he rushed over, Finn caught his eye. Pleased to be safe with each other, Finn gently strokes Nellis' round head. "You surprised me," Finn smiled at his sister, who looked up as a scarecrow.

"Short hair suits you, too."

"Uh... I guess so"

As soon as he was done, Nellis let go of her body lightly and softly put her hands on her hair.

"Really? Do you really think so?

"Oh. She's cute."

Finn nods gently. The voices are serious and there are no signs of lies or comfort. Nellis dyed her cheeks and laughed all over her face.

"Eh heh. As a matter of fact, I've been looking in the mirror a lot of times, and I'm starting to think it's pretty good. Well, let's keep it short."

Mac makes an odd noise from behind saying "eh" to Nellis, who said that while illuminating. Nellis looked back and glanced at him, and said, "Oh, my God.

"It's easier if you're light-headed, and if you look good. Hey, brother."

Nellis' gaze for consent and Mac's gaze begging him to stop is poured on Finn. Of course, the only thing that arrived properly was my sister's. Finn nodded with a straight face.

"Oh. Wouldn't that be nice?"

After stroking Pong and his sister's head, he walked up to the door. The farmer came back to leave the garden behind. That was the man the sentry guarded from the bandits the other day.

Finn offered his hand to "give back" to the farmer after a light meeting. Oh, and the farmer responds. In the rough and grueling hand, a tiny key fell, making a crisp noise.

"Sure. Mr. Igross seems to have delivered it properly."

"Thanks to you, it helped. If I couldn't use that cabin, I'd go on for two nights and almost be in the wild. I can't believe you even have food and straw... thank you so much"

Otherwise, I'd have had to keep an eye on Farnayne in addition to the Dark Beast. If he felt it was a repetition of his miserable journey from Tetna, the young Farnein must have escaped or cried. The safety aspect is not the only thing that helped me sleep in the cabin.

Finn bowed his head deeply, including that part. but the farmer waved with a bitter smile.

"Aspiring, what about your brother? I don't want to thank you. You owe me your help, and even if you don't, you're welcome to harass the Commander and Nialdo."

……

"The area where the cabin was originally ours. That Nialdo guy set it up with the commander, and he tricked my father into threatening to take it away. Belly, I didn't tell you anything detailed about where it was, and I left some cabin keys hanging. If you need it, you can build it."

The farmer snorts wildly and indignantly. Finn hammered convinced him, "Was it?" Because Valt knew those circumstances, he probably asked for help through the store where this farmer was wholesale of crops. I'd like to ask you next time how you got the information.

Even while I was doing that, Nellis and Mac, plus the farmer's wife, were busy standing up and taking care of the injured. Finn looked around the warehouse again and counted the number of people that it was what made it a big place.

All the sentry faces are safe. A total of seven, including Valt and Euches. Then Finn's family. Parents and Nellis and Mac and Farnayne. The rest is the survival of the tracking squad, but these are only five. Soldiers with bows and arrows are slightly wounded, but the remaining four are miserable enough to manage to walk on their own.

(Seventeen? Eighteen for me too...)

Why don't you let me in?

I heard Lena, and Finn flashed his mouth.

Let me in. Nineteen in all.

And there, as if I had read Finn's thoughts, Valt came and said.

"That's a lot more. I have to let them decide what to do from here again. Including the euchian abalone."

…………

"What do you want to do? It's not about you. I know him. It's Eucis."

Asked in a tone of exploration, Finn laid his eyes down. Valt folds there.

"The smartest thing is, I'm gonna kill him here and fatten him up in the field with horse manure. Damn. No mouth for the dead. It's safe and secure. I warn you, it's no use letting him swear to remain silent. Unlike you, he's not an old-fashioned man who keeps his vows no matter what. It hurts when you use yourself as a benchmark."

"I know."

That's all Finn answered, watching Youtis with a wrinkle between his eyebrows. I remember the day I bonded with Lena, the moment I intuited that I couldn't trust her. Now I know. That wasn't just an intuition. The power of the dragon made me realize, it is the essence of Euches.

I noticed my gaze, or Eucis turned around with an anxious face. And when Finn and I met each other, for a moment, I opened my mouth to beg for pity. But soon I get frightened and depressed.

Finn stared at him with a rugged eye.

I was uncomfortable. No Euches betrayal, no selfish “argument," no self or Valt's reaction to it.

"... I'm" pompous, leaking words. "Should we do what Euches says? Honestly, I don't think I can do the same thing as the old Dragon Marquis. Still, should I try? If we can kick Dilgius down and return the Corps on the North Side to its original duty of repelling the darkness and maintaining security..."

"Whoa, stop it. That kid doesn't see reality. What can you do alone? Do you think everyone will clear the way when I say that it is Master Dragon Hou? And first of all, isn't that what you want? What do you want?"

"Peaceful living with family. Yeah, that's right. … a selfish desire."

Walt sighed loudly at Finn, who felt tired and rubbed his face.

"Everyone lives at their own convenience. Neither do I. I won't help you because you decided to imitate your old hero. Instead, they flee far away. What's wrong with that? Even Euches expect you to give them that kind of life because they want to live in peace. Without trying to grab it yourself."

"Then why don't you take him? To a place where you seem to live in peace."

"No," Valt kicked. "He's untrue and untrustworthy. You're incompetent, you're handy, but you can trust him, but he's the one who hates the life of the benefactor, right? I don't know when you're gonna shrug your legs. It's going to be a long way from peace.... If you can't decide, I'll bury him here."

A whispering, but resolute proclamation.

Finn was silent for a while after Valt's harsh gaze, but when he exhaled slightly and deeply, he had a painful bitterness.

Let's make it a meal.

To the abrupt suggestion, Valt raises his eyebrows. But Finn shrugged his shoulder and went on in the tone that he had just decided.

"Everyone must have had very little to drink and eat since last night. Besides, if some people might break up here... it's not bad to eat together once or so. Eat something and calm down, then we'll talk about what's ahead."

".................. Hmm"

Neither did the distracted Valt roar, Finn seemed to have heard. I just walked over to Fauna's and the farmer's wife is also talking to her about the steps. The leftover Valt scratched his head and looked around at his companions. All I get in my eyes is a pointy face with hunger and tiredness.

I see. He was convinced of one. You might be right to eat something for now. Don't tell me you can't fight when you're hungry.

Speaking of which, I was hungry, and I put my hand on my stomach, and he suddenly shriveled and sat down on the spot.

Before Valt was depressed, the women began to move tightly with the addition of Nellis, who had finished the allowance. Of course Farnayne is being helped irrevocably.

I had to prepare the fire for a moment behind Valt's brain, but it didn't work the way my body thought it would. Oandus came to the side as he slipped into the mud and lowered his back.

There was a scene when the two of us blurred and watched, one young soldier still in good health, who tried to help but eventually interrupted and dispersed. Oandus spills a bitter laugh, and Valt laughs a little with him.

"Oh, man. We guys are totally useless for this kind of thing."

Shortly after Valt casually said that, Nellis, who happened to come to see how Oandus was doing, listened and pinched his mouth.

"I don't think so, though."

To his petty voice, Valt looked up softly, then did his eyes to those Nellis showed in his gaze and became tannic. Oandus sees the same thing, and, oh, he laughs bitterly. Phineas helps Fauna handily.

"You think my brother's not a man?

When Nellis stepped aside, Valt responded with a roar.

"Say stupid. He's the exception. He's..."

After I said that much, I accidentally added a dark bitterness to Valt's voice.

"It's not normal. It's special."

It was a tone with a weight that did not resemble a light topic. I thought you might want to come with me.

Nellis is baffled that something could have gone wrong and peeks at his father's complexion. And this one also had a harsh look at what was going on. Except it was Valt and not Finn he was staring at.

Noticing Oandus' shooting eyes, Valt clapped his shoulders and returned to his usual attitude.

"Think about it. On the day that was the" normal "and" normal "era, every man with nothing but“ get some meat ”like us would be abandoned by a woman. First of all, unlike us, he must have slept well last night. Alone, healthy and natural."

"It's hard when you say it."

Oandus also responded with a slightly deliberate bitter smile, then looked at his son and became a gentle eye.

"He's been in the orphanage a long time. I'm used to helping with housework, but I'm a younger babysitter, Captain Valt. … nothing, nothing special"

Removed from the profound interaction, Nellis frowned and compared the two faces. But without any explanation, that's where the conversation stops.

"Nellis! Hey, look at the pot"

"Ah, ha."

Finn calls me and Nellis rushes off to run. After the footsteps were far enough away, Oandus whispered low.

"Captain Valt."

"Yeah, I know. Shut up."

Valt annoyingly blocked Oandus and looked at his siblings one way or another before roaring in his mouth.

"... but fuck you, why do you look so much like that"

There was no reply to the soliloquy, then the two of them shut up and just sat down.
