Ashes and Kingdoms

4-4. Being Human

When he naturally woke up after a deep sleep, Finn was lying with Lena in his own bed. Lena remains a person. I'm sleeping well, and I don't even have the appearance of waking up to signs of movement right next to me.

The first thing he unconsciously did was lean back and make sure the ceiling was safe.

(Was it a dream?

No. I did have a feeling in my body that I could believe I loved Lena last night. But he didn't really turn into a dragon. Perhaps only consciousness temporarily entered 'that side', in fact remaining the figure of a person.

Finn woke up slowly and smiled looking down at Lena sleeping happily.

Then breathe deeply and quietly and stretch. Raise your arms and flip your back.

"... Huh!?

All of a sudden, I was showered with cold water. My throat makes a humming noise and breathes in. The feeling of well-being, which was full of body and mind, disappeared without a trace.

(Now what did I try to do)

He lowers his arms slowly, stunned and blue. And I twisted my neck to unconsciously look at my back. But of course, I don't see it myself.

Because if you don't have big wings, you don't have long tails, like you get into sight over your shoulders...

Palpitations quickened.

Finn trembled holding us and grabbed his clothes and wore them from his head so that something chased him, he ran out barefoot.

Barefoot. Yes, two legs, human legs.

Conscious of the back of his feet, he sucks in the air of dawn and wields his arms wide. Still, the feeling that there were wings had disappeared. There is an uncontrollable desire to tremble the wings and adjust the wings.

(No, I'm human)

He holds his head and slips his hands straight from his neck to his shoulders to make sure of his body.

A panic struck me like a tsunami.

(I'm not a dragon. I'm human, I'm human)

I want to be sure.

The thought intensified intensely, and he was almost half frenzied and looking around.

I wanted to hold a woman now. Anyone, if I hadn't held a human woman in the human way and made sure I was human, I would have gone crazy.

(Somebody help me, somebody)

Dominated by so much agony that I want to cry out. Nellis, standing at the door, jumped into his eyes looking for a shadow.

"What's wrong, brother? So soon."

A voice still half asleep says annoyingly as she bites off the absences.

Finn ran out toward her and barely took a few steps. Bite your back teeth to the point where they seem to shatter, yelling at you inside out.

(Stop!!

That's "Nellis" - "Sister". It's not just a 'woman of man'.

"Oh -"

Leaking a weak voice, Finn covered his face with both hands and knelt on the spot.

The agony disappears and reason returns.

(It was dangerous...)

Isn't it equally true that holding Nellis just to make sure he's human can break the proof that he's human? She is family. The family of Phineas, a human being, an important being. And now he's Mac's wife.

Breathe loudly. At the same time, he finally felt completely back to his former self.

I can't remember the wings or tail feeling anymore, even if I try to remember. Instead, my whole body was tightly heavy.

Staring at a fine scratched hand on the ground. A ragged, clumsy, fragile and weak hand.

(This is my hand)

At the same time as joy, pity filled my chest. I tasted the feeling of being a dragon, but I was sad at the same time that I was happy to be a human being.

"... brother? Are you okay?"

He sounds worried and his warm hand touches his shoulder. Finn nodded small, rubbing his face and stood up.

"Oh. Thanks"

Just say that briefly, and when will you rub your sister's head? Nellis stared up at him without being harshly blamed. The directly viewed fin shakes his head small and covers his consciousness so as to block the eyes of the priest.

"Nothing. I'm really okay now. Just... just leave me alone."

…………

Nellis slightly moistened his hazelnut eyes and, to deceive it, slammed his fist into Finn's belly before returning silently to his heel.

After his luxurious back disappeared into the doorway, Finn cursorily headed to the square tap, shrugging cold water in his hands.

I bend over to wash my face, the clap clogged my throat, and realize that my clothes were back and forth. Finn grinned at the stupidity of being in a serious state.

Come on, laugh in the back of your throat.

(If anyone saw it, they'd think it went crazy)

From within nightfall, he jumped out of the house wearing his clothes the other way, twitching by himself. It's already madman behavior itself.

Finn leaned over to the tap and chuckled, then cried just a little.

The first Nakte Dragon Marquis may have been the same. He loved his partner's dragon, but I guess he couldn't stand the feeling that he was no longer a person. The last time Finn felt it, he was hunted down by a thirst to the point of madness - and married a human wife just to heal it.

I don't even want to imagine what couples' lives were like. His relationship with his wife's son, or his kinsmen, would have been nasty.... enough to develop into a killer.

(But I'm not. I won't let that happen, is it something I would never do)

When I managed to regain my mind and went back to the room, Lena was completely shriveled. He's nagging me like a dog sitting on a bed waiting for you to preach.

"I'm sorry."

With a crying voice, she apologized first.

"I never thought I'd make Finn suffer so much. But, right? Finn is human."

"It's gonna be okay."

Finn says, gently lowering his hips next to Lena and holding his shoulders. The usual warmth seems a little short. Finn repeated "It's okay" again as he combed Lena's hair with his hands.

"I was just surprised because I didn't know what it was going to be. Because I'm really okay now."

After saying it three times, I laugh at myself if this isn't convincing. Either way, however deceitful the words may be, what is in your heart is passed on to Lena. Finn really coughed up and took care of the majesty.

"Oh, I'm certainly still a little upset. I'll admit it. But it's not about you apologizing."

My heart also calms down as I speak, and my love slowly fills up, no and growing, unchanged from yesterday. Lena felt it, too, soothing her expression a little.

"Thanks, Finn"

"It's this way to thank you."

Finn smiled bitterly and gently put his lips on Lena's forehead. Whatever happened after I woke up, it was a great experience last night. That I just didn't think about the shock when I fell up too high.

As soon as she did, Lena turned bright red to her neck. I saw signs that he was going to disappear as it turned into a swirl of light, so Finn hurried to stay strongly aware of the bond. If I can get away here, I can't wait. I don't care who sees me.

Lena wanted to escape. She couldn't escape. When she stopped moving slightly and unexpectedly, she touched Finn's throat. I just got my eye around it.

"... Finn? Kind of different than usual, huh?

My fingers scratch my inch-packed collar wonderfully. Finn smiled and, uh, yeah, etc. deceived the day after tomorrow.
