At the Northern Fort

Free time in the talking room

I still don't like flames. I don't want to get as close as possible.

With that in mind, I was staring at the fireplace flames in the corner of the conversation room.

Now there's a bunch of knights in the talking room inside the quarters who have finished dinner, and they enjoy their free time before they go to sleep in their thoughts.

That said, they usually read books at this hour, play games with their buddies, or blossom into stupid stories, and they're not focused on them today either.

Because you have me here today!

No, it's not like I'm complacent. Because I just told the truth. Because you are all paying so much attention to my every step of the way...

Every time I move, my gaze follows me. Ma, if there's an animal in the room, you're worried. If you're not used to this situation, forget it.

After dinner, the Shigeye Knight tried to get me back to my room, but Mr. Tina, Kicks and the Kowamote Legion stopped it. I mean, he was begging for some more contact time with the kid fox.

You must all be tired at work. You want to get healed by dealing with animals.

Then I was in a mood to take off my skin, and the knight of the ship's eye left me in the talking room to sweat if he would see what was going on while I was in the bath.

Sometimes about today's ink incident, the knight of the ship's eye seems worried about leaving me alone. They're worrying about me getting hurt rather than worrying about getting my room vandalized.

There were a lot of knights in the bickering room, but they were all undressed or dressed relaxed, so they weren't as intimidating as they were when they were wearing uniforms and swords.

Besides, there were so many known faces in the colloquial room, such as Tina and Kicks, the Kowamote Corps, and Aniki who took the snowballs during the day, that I was surprised and fine in the absence of the knight of the ship's eyes. The people sitting on the couch over there are the faces I saw in the dining room in the morning, and the people in front of the fireplace have had their mistakes in the hallway.

Maybe not more knights here in the fort than I thought. It doesn't look like hundreds of people are working, so one of these days, everyone's face is going to be remembered.

By the way, the bath seems to shift time around the large bath area in the dormitory for everyone to use. I wonder if Mr. Teena will go in alone in her free time.

It's normal to take a bath every day, according to the Japanese feel, but the people here don't seem to either. It's cold, and as long as it's not even hard training, I don't sweat, so maybe it's okay......

At least so far my nose is not bent sensitive to the smell, so I guess they're all washing their bodies before they get unclean. Let's believe that.

The Shigeye Knight was still pumping hot water and wiping his body in the room this morning after his workouts, but it looks like he's taking a proper bath every night. "Isn't it a hassle to come in every day? 'Cause Kicks was telling me.

And to infer from the conversation of the knights, the bath water here is apparently a hot spring. However, it does not smell characteristic, such as sulphur odor, often described as the 'rotten smell of eggs', or iron. I wonder if there are any ingredients like that. I wasn't interested in hot springs in my previous life, and I'm not sure.

"Hands!

As I was putting my thoughts to the hot spring, my palm was suddenly offered in front of me. Kicks.

"Hands!

With a glistening face, he stares at his hand.

As much as you want, you can do it. I was human in my last life.

But Kicks doesn't know that. It's a good place to wave impotently about giving a "hand" suddenly to a child fox who's not even used to being perfect yet, without teaching him anything.

I ignored the kicks and scratched my head bubbly with my hind legs.

"No..."

No, you can't. I won't do it. Something strange if I could.

People around me also say to Kicks, "You don't have to do it, but you don't have to." In contrast, Kicks objected with a little grumbling.

"I thought I could. Nah. 'Cause there's something clever about it, Mill."

"Really? I'm still young, and you don't seem very smart... you don't seem to think about it..."

"Yeah, yeah, that sounds a little silly. No, no, that's cute."

"Oh, I know. You look peaceful for living in the wild."

... What?

Surely I may not know much about the harshness of the wild. Because there were no external enemies on the mountain, and I, the Spirit, had never felt hunger or cold.

But what do you mean you look stupid! I can't believe they didn't think anyone but Kicks was smart. I'm laughing at Tina.

Kix's stock went up a bit in me. I can't believe I'm smart. I have eyes.

But I still can't accept the juvenile behavior he shows against me from time to time. He still suddenly reached this way and tried to hold me up, so he fled in a hurry.

"Uh, don't run away."

"If I kiss you, you haven't punished me yet? They just hate me for trying to cuddle you so hard."

Teena flatters.

"Really? I've never had a dog before, so you don't really know how to handle it. I've always wanted to have a dog since I was a kid."

I was stared at with sparkling eyes, explaining so. I'm not a dog. I mean, I don't care if you turn your thoughts on my childhood. It's heavy.

But in the meantime, Kix took Mr. Teena's advice and became an adult, so I relaxed my guard and walked around the bickering room.

Smell the floor with the humphung as you try not to go to the fireplace. You still smell all kinds of people.

Near the door I found the leftover incense of the knight with the eyes of a ship, shaking his tail. Aren't you back from the bath yet, huh?

I walk to My Pace smelling the smell along the wall from the door, feeling the gaze of the people around me staring at this one intrigued. It's fun because you can get all kinds of information from the scent.

Oh, what is this smell? Sounds like a beast, but a little dusty...

I smelled the concern and the tip of my tail was nervous. Is there an animal in this talking room other than me?

And, a little further ahead of his gaze, he discovered a small hole in the connection between the wall and the floor. The smell of concern emanates from here. I tried to get my nose close there, and the next moment ——

" * # ▲ ~... ugh!?

He screamed without a voice and flew out loud behind him. My whole body hair swells bong like a cat.

"Whoa, what's up, Mill?

Surprised by my odd move, Kicks calls out from behind.

but I can't stand him right now. From the dark hole in front of me, hey, hey...

"Hey! Rat!"

Mr. Tina spoke for me about my cry. A brown mouse crawled out of the hole in the wall, squeaking tiny chuckles.

"What is it, a rat?"

But it seems that only me and Ms. Teena are feeling scared, and the men, including the Kowamote Corps, were very calm reactions. Are you used to it?

The rats are also out-of-the-box, grand in a bright room when it comes to large numbers of humans. In fact, it looks bigger and stronger than a Japanese rat.

Showing off her splendid front teeth, she rang short to complain about me approaching the 'nest' and pulled back into the hole again without panicking.

…………

I shuddered my feet with a pull, away from the wall. Hey, rat frightening.

"I need that hole plug..."

Ms. Teena also says in a tone of blue face, but with strong determination.

And behind it, the men looked at each other and were whining about it somehow.

"A fox eats a rat, right?

"Yeah, probably"

"Mill, I was freaking out."

"You were flying behind me, Bing! What?"

"A fox moves like that when you're surprised... phew"

When one blew it out, the whole conversation room was engulfed with laughter as it followed.

My cheeks get hot. Wow, don't laugh...!

I bit Kix's pants the closest I could get and pulled him.

"Wow, what? Are you mad? Are you lit?

Even with his pants pulled, the Kicks seemed rather happy. Play your voice like you're excited, keep going.

"Look, I knew Mill was smart! I'm ashamed."

"Really?

"You sure look embarrassed to be laughed at. But that move...... buffoo"

"Stop, you remind me. Guffoo."

Once quiet laughter spreads again. Wow! Forget it already! Forget it, guys!

I barked like a protest.

"It's annoying."

—— Suddenly, an extremely calm, ice-cold voice watered the boom of the discourse room.

Even though that voice was never loud, it seemed to reach my ears and those of everyone around me firmly. In an instant, the inside of the room calms down.

I turned around and explored the Lord of my voice. Standing in the hallway and opening the door to the discourse room was a hot brunette - Mr. Toito Branch Manager.

He frowned in a grumpy manner and glanced at his men chilly.

"Enjoy your free time, but don't make too much noise"

Mr Branch Leader briefly advised him to look down at me for a moment at the end and then shut the door quietly with his grumpy face.

Oh, pissed...?

Until I couldn't hear his footsteps leaving the hallway, the conversation room remained quiet. I also keep my breath shut.

Eventually one young knight relieved the tension and exhaled.

"I was scared... That's the Ice Branch Leader."

In contrast, the chin mustache knight of the Kowamote Legion returns it in a manner that calms him down like an elder.

"You did make a little too much noise. Some of them will be sleeping in their rooms by now."

"And should I go to the chief of the branch and apologize? I was pretty angry..."

"No, you mean that one's angry...... hey?

Chin Beard Knight spoke to a knight as old as himself, not a young knight who was in conversation. And the knight of the shaken looks somewhat strange and nods deeply.

"Oh, you envied us more than you were angry"

To that word, the other knights nod, "Yeah, yeah," too. However, some people, such as the earlier young knights and Mr. Teena, tilted their necks so that they could not understand the reason. I react in the same way as the latter.

Could it be that Mr. Branch Leader has no friends? So we all make a lot of fun noise and envy these people?

That made me almost cry. The next time I see Mr. Branch Leader, I'll be nice to you.

"Envy? The chief of the subdivision took us? Why is that?

"Why don't you know that rumor about the chief?"

Rumor? Is that a rumor that he doesn't have close friends?

"What's that rumor?"

"You know, the Branch Leader, oh, look --"

"Mill, we're back."

As the knight with the eye entered the talking room where I was concerned, I was retrieved by him and could not hear the contents of the key rumors.

No, I know you don't even have to ask.

Somebody be friends with Mr. Branch Leader!
