At the Northern Fort

Mr Branch Head's circumstances (2)

"Hey, Kicks"

When I finished eating the rice served, I snuck up on Kicks just as the Shigeye Knight was called by my uncle in the dining room to take a seat.

There are chivalry knights in the dining room, some are snacking, others are just relaxing and having tea with their peers. People here eat well in the morning and at night, so they don't eat if they're not hungry by day.

Kicks grabbed the little blue apple and put me at his feet on the table.

Nobody gets angry, but as an ex-human, it seems like riding on a table is a bad thing to do.

"What is it, Mill? You want an apple?

That's what Kicks has been saying and offering his freckled apple.

I don't want to eat Kicks!

Though I thought so, I can't help but check the smell for now if I can get it to my nose tip. I know what apple smells like.

But this apple seems more sour than the Japanese apple in my memory. There is a wrinkle in my nose over the sour smell.

Citrus. But my nose seems to recognize the sour as rotten and dangerous, and I didn't have an appetite for the apple in front of me either. Fruits like sweet ones.

"I don't want it. than that......"

I stretch my neck away from the apple I was offered, and it's right there in my ear to the kicks.

"Sarrell, who are you and what kind of people?

If that person is going to be the new head here, I want to know what he is.

Of course, I don't want Mr. Branch Leader to go back to Wang Capital, so it's best that he stay in the north fort like this.

Kicks answers with a skewed face.

"Seventy-three divisions with round glasses, nervous nasty guy"

What? I can't believe he doesn't like it while he has a fun look that he's seventy-three minutes apart with round glasses.

"It would suck if a guy like that came here. Because I have a cleanliness problem, it's up to me to let them clean the whole place first. As soon as you're dressed in a sloppy outfit, you'll be watched, and you'll be stared at just putting him to sleep."

"It's good to stick."

The knights of this fort were somewhat wilder than the knights in the castle of the king's capital.

Keeping it clean is a good thing, and it's a good thing everyone cares about familiarity.

"It's not good. There are rumors that Captain Sarrell became captain of our regiment because of Conne and pressure. He lives in the Duke's house. I guess my brother inherited it now. Captain Cromwell's house is also the Duke's, and his position is very similar to Captain Sarrell's, but he's not human. I guess the chief of the branch has worked hard to get stronger, but I know what Captain Sarrell's prowess was. It's suspicious if you've ever held a sword. Can you trust him with this fort?"

I am worried that if someone is indeed aristocratic and does not involve strength, he will be able to survive the harsh winters of this land and put together the knights of the vandals of the fort.

Sure, Mr. Branch Leader was named by the knights of this fort at first, but he was recognized because he had proper strength, wasn't he?

"I don't like the fact that I've always taken close men around me."

"Is that because Kix was flown into this fort as soon as he joined the Kishi Regiment?

When I asked him that, Kicks looked starred.

"Well, you have that... Now I'm glad I came to this fort, but I resented being unreasonable at the time, and I don't personally like me and Jildo, so I took heavy action. Well, the Spirit wouldn't know, but there are things that don't suit humans. Well, I'm sure I'm not the type to go with Captain Sarrell."

"Phew."

When I listen to you, I don't feel like it's going to suit me either. It's like cleanliness, and will you allow me to exist like I always sprinkle my hair?

I walk on the carpet in the Branch Leader's office on the earthfoot, and sometimes I sneak up on the meatballs and glide the mud, okay?

"Besides, he wants to come here... Mill, you must be the target. Feel a little more at risk."

"What, me?

I thought about it for a few seconds, and it caught my blood.

"No way...... are you trying to get my hair?

"Different time. I don't want you in the fox. I'm after you, the Spirit, or Snowlea. If you come here, you'll be able to connect with the Spirit."

It is true that the Spirit is special, so in some cases it may be more beneficial to have connections with royalty.

"You wouldn't know, but the ratings of Chief Cromwell are also up in the Knights compared to before. Because Mill, the Spirit, likes you."

"What happens because I like you?

"In times of need, it's more likely that Snowlea will cooperate with the country now. I don't rely entirely on spirits. The Branch Leader just adores the mill unintentionally, but some knights and nobles don't think that way. Captain Sarrell, too, it's not funny how spirits like you like a rival. That's why I thought it was my chance to come back to King's Capital and think I'd come here instead."

Is that why Kicks was saying something about Captain Sarrell?

"Then I figured I'd rather have Shinichi stay much longer than someone like that."

I don't like being used by Captain Sarrell to raise the ratings from around you.

"Right? Tell that to the chief of the support team from the mill, too. Captain Sarrell told me to get rid of him.... Well, the chief of branch is younger, and his position in the Knights is down there, so maybe it's hard."

Kicks are rarely fading away. Looks like Captain Sarrell is not very comfortable with you.

I raised my tail and told him to encourage me.

"Leave it to me! I'm going to Shinoko's!

"Is that true? I asked you, Mill!

"Yeah! Okay!

I was just trying to run out of my mind, and I remembered that I was on the table.

"... you know, I just want to get off the table."

Because I can't go down there alone!

"Shinny-san!

I told the Shigeye knight I was leaving already, and headed from the dining room to Mr. Branch Leader's office.

It's hard to open a splendid door by yourself, so I give in and call Mr. Branch Leader from the slightest gap that's open under the door. I feel that these are easier to hear.

I also try to stick my hands in the gutter but all I could get was nails.

Footsteps showed that Mr. Branch Leader approached the door, so he stood up and took a few steps away.

When the door opened quietly, Mr. Branch Leader looked cold and first looked around the left and right corridors. They're checking to see if there's anyone else but me. It's the usual.

"Nice to meet you."

When I found out my men were gone, Mr. Branch Leader loosened his expression and invited me inside.

And I've reached this way at the same time as closing the door, but I avoid it slightly.

If you want to touch this fur, let me ask you to do this first!
