After sending the message, Chen Lin placed his phone face down on the desk and opened a video-streaming site on his computer, planning to find something to watch to unwind after a long day.
He had just clicked on a video titled "Saitama Workout Challenge 1000 Days—Endgame" when his phone buzzed on the desk.

Chen Lin picked up his phone and unlocked the screen.
Sure enough, it was a reply from Sun Yu. Several messages, in fact.

Chen Lin tapped the shared location, and his map app automatically opened.

He zoomed in on the map for a closer look.
It was a residential complex built in 2008. Judging by the photos on the map app, the buildings were well-spaced and there was a decent amount of greenery.
Chen Lin was more concerned about the commute.
From the subway station at the complex entrance, it was eight stops on Line 2, transferring to Line 6, to get to First Central Hospital Station near Yannan University. Including walking time, the entire trip would take about forty minutes.
For a major city like Jinmen, that commute time was pretty standard—especially since Yannan University was located in a university district surrounded by shopping complexes, office buildings, parks, and museums.
With a clear picture in his mind, Chen Lin quickly replied.
Chen Lin: [Sounds good, Sun. Should we set a time? How about tomorrow morning?]
Sun Yu: [No problem! I’m free anytime! Just name the time!]
Chen Lin: [Alright, let’s say 9:30 tomorrow morning at the south entrance of Liuzhuang Xinyuan?]
Sun Yu: [You got it! See you then!]
With that important matter settled, Chen Lin felt a weight lift off his shoulders.
He stretched, leaned back in his chair, and got engrossed in watching three straight episodes of a Chinese animated series he was following on the video site.
When it was nearly nine o’clock, Chen Lin closed the video site, and his eyes landed on a new icon on his desktop.
It was a strangely-shaped insect knight wearing a stark white mask.

Li the Monkey had enthusiastically recommended the game to him before the break.
At the time, Li the Monkey had been a whirlwind of excitement, gesticulating wildly as he hyped the game to the heavens. He’d called it "the ultimate fix for a Souls-like itch," praised its "god-tier map design," and claimed "the art, music, and atmosphere were maxed out." He also swore up and down that the sequel, *Song of Silk*, would definitely be released in September, insisting that Chen Lin absolutely had to beat the first game during the summer break.
Intrigued, Chen Lin had spent what amounted to a lunch money and bought the game on Steam.
