Chapter 2248 - 1605: We Won!
"You noble savage of the Demon! I challenge you to a duel! A duel!"
"?! You raving Evil Demon! Why are you chasing me? First, I’m not a Priest, second, I’m no Hereditary Noble... go find someone else to slaughter!..."
Red-haired Chabo was running along the deck, nimble as a Jungle monkey. The veteran captain Turnadilla gave chase behind him, all the way down to the cabin, the sharp sword tracking his back, about to ram straight into Chabo’s body!
"Chief Divine! This Evil Demon’s gone mad! Stop him, somebody!..."
Red-haired Chabo cursed at the top of his lungs, then swished down through the hatchway. The veteran captain Turnadilla had lost all reason and jumped after him into the pitch-dark cabin. At once he let out a sudden roar, a scream of pure agony!
"Ah! My eyes, my eyes! You damned noble savage of the Demon! What did you do to me?! Ugh!..."
White lime fog drifted out from the hatch, followed by the sound of wild slashing. Very soon, that sharp sword slammed into a plank and stuck fast, unable to be pulled free. Then there came a dull "thud"! And again Turnadilla’s furious bellow!
"Kill me! Kill me! Let me die! I will never accept being taken prisoner!... Ugh! Uuuuh!..."
A moment later, Red-haired Chabo, covered in dust and grime, crawled up from the bottom of the cabin. Then Sailor Ah Yue, born of the Amazon Alavakan Tribe, also clambered up through the lime fog, pinching his nose and shielding his eyes. The two of them together hauled the fully Iron Armored Turnadilla up onto the deck.
By now, this stubborn Evil Demon no longer had the fearsome look of that Martial-Arts-astonishing butcher who’d hacked his way through everyone. Both his eyes were burned blind by lime, his hands and feet bound with rope. He thrashed desperately on the deck, still mumbling and groaning! This captain of veterans who had fought ten full years in the Kingdom of Castile’s Holy War had finally become, in this brutal and blood-soaked ambush, the first Evil Demon to be captured!
"Almighty! Don’t kill me! I surrender! I surrender! I’m a Noble of Castile! Heir to a Viscount Family! You can take me, demand ransom from the expeditionary army—no, from the Kingdom of Castile itself!..."
captain Vicente screamed in terror as two of the Kingdom’s Warriors dragged him out of the Large Ship’s cabin. By now the Caravel Medium-sized Sailboat was awash in blood, and strewn with corpses twisted into every grotesque posture!
Twenty common-clothed scimitar Sailors, nineteen Breastplate Holy War Veterans—all lay dead on the deck. The fatal wounds of those Holy War Veterans were almost all at the neck. And beside each Holy War Veteran, there were often two or three Kingdom’s Warriors fallen in battle! The carnage of these mutual deaths was so horrific that it truly deserved the name of Divine War!
"I offer the Evil Demons’ blood to the Chief Divine! I beg the Chief Divine to lead our companions’ Spirits onward to the Red Divine Kingdom!"
"Hah! Cut off their heads! Tally the battle merits! Record the names of every fallen Samurai!"
The Warriors of the Kingdom showed no mercy, slicing off the heads of these Evil Demons one by one and tossing them to the side where the spoils of war were being counted. These Evil Demon heads—especially those of the elite Evil Demons—were the battle merits of their Divine War! Such merits could win them titles of Nobility for military service in life, and after death bring them to a loftier station in the Red Divine Kingdom!
"Great Chief Divine! We have finally won! This ambush has ended in victory!!"
"Haha! We’ve won! The Chief Divine has feasted on the Evil Demons’ blood and is greatly pleased!"
"Praise the Chief Divine! Victory in the Divine War is certain!! Roar! Roar!!..."
When Shoumaoying Chief Priest himself stood upon the last Evil Demon Large Ship, boots sunk ankle-deep in blood, and proclaimed the victory of this battle, all Samurai and Sailors roared out in unison! They had finally defeated the first band of Evil Demon Warriors! And after this, there would be more and ever more blood and sacrifices! More and more!
