San Juan Bay extends along the north coast of Puerto Rico, with flat coasts on both sides covered in lush tropical vegetation. Mangroves hum under the sea breeze, encircling the narrow natural harbor. In the simple wooden port, the masts of four Clark galleons stand tall, casting long and dark shadows.

About a hundred steps south from the port lies a partially completed wooden fortress. Half-built structures surround a central wooden small fort, which without its top, looks more like a large Castilian mountain cabin than a fortress. The royal family’s gold and red flag fluttering atop the wooden cabin undoubtedly symbolizes the command center of the Castilian Expeditionary Army.

"The Chief Divine bear witness! Is this the last camp of the demons?"

"Yes! This is the demons’ last stronghold, the place where they first landed!"

Warrior Captain Kepili frowned, holding the Divine Eye Glasses, standing on the highest point of the North Bay Tribe’s village atop the small Cross Demon Temple. He was personally conducting reconnaissance on the demon "wooden fortress" from a distance of a li. The surrounding villages of the North Bay Tribe—from the vibrant western farmland, to the southern burnt-out huts, to the still lush eastern fields—had all been abandoned by the demons. Approximately hundreds of demons along with their large ships clustered around the northern bay area within a two-li radius. That region’s north is bordered by the coast and surrounded by a simple circle of fences on the east and west, with a half-built original log low wall to the south.

"Two li distance... the demons are clustered so densely this time? If there’s an attack on any point, their support can arrive in an instant! And their camp has been cleared again, with an open view making surprise attacks more difficult..."

"Captain Kepili, look! The reflective long strip magic artifacts on the shore facing the sea! Those are the demons’ heavy guns! And the reflective long strip magic artifacts on the demon ships aim towards the south area! Their cannons can shoot far, though without much accuracy at a distance... but if they come closer, a round of such cannon fire could cause significant casualties!"

Warrior Captain Kepili moved the Divine Eye Glasses, watching carefully over the reflections at the port and shore. The number of demon cannons was indeed large, and markedly bigger. The cannons were divided into two parts, one on the shore and the other on the ships. Most of the shore cannons aimed at the northern coast, especially the heavy guns. A few were mounted on the low walls with the barrels aimed south.

And the ships on the sea were even more flexible, adjusting direction at any time to aim the cannons inside or outside. This unknown cannon threat filled Kepili with dread! No matter how brave and fearless the warriors of the Kingdom were, taking such a round of heavy gunfire meant certain death.

"There are cannons in the south, we cannot launch the main attack from the south. Best not to launch an attack in broad daylight... it seems this battle will need to be a surprise assault."

Warrior Captain Kepili had watched for a long time, and had basically figured out the general situation of the demon camp. And his silhouette standing on the Cross Church, holding a strange magic artifact, was finally spotted by the Castilian Expeditionary Army. Several Shenluo Mercenaries saw his position, cursed under their breath, but none had the slightest idea of stepping outside the fence to shoot that barbarian.

"Damn! The Cipangu barbarians are here again! This time, they’ve climbed to the top of the church!"

"Is this a provocation? Should we go up with crossbows and give them a shot?"

"Forget it! The village in the south could be hiding people everywhere, who knows how many barbarians are there now? I’m not going to send myself to death!"

"Exactly! The Castilians have owed us money for three months without pay! No money, what are we risking our lives for?"

"Right! If anyone’s going to risk lives, let those Holy War veterans ’supervising’ behind us go die!"

Several Shenluo Mercenaries stood on the low wall, beside two 4-pound cannons. They watched cautiously for a while, seeing the barbarian make no move, they sat down again. But moments later, the barbarian finally made a provocative move. Swinging the bronze axe in his hand, hacking several times, he severed the cross atop the wooden church and forcefully tossed it forward!

"?!"

Seeing the broken cross, the pupils of the Shenluo Mercenaries shrank, sensing doom. Finally unable to bear it, about a hundred steps away, a squad of Holy War veterans, holding crossbows and carrying knight’s swords, furiously passed the mercenaries and charged towards the southern village. And Warrior Captain Kepili, gesturing a few more provocations, quickly jumped down from the church top with two confidants and headed south.

"Come on! Come on! You stupid demons! If you have the guts, catch up to me for a good battle!"

"Demons! Profane demons of the Almighty! The Almighty’s flames will burn you, turning your body and spirit to ashes!"

Holy War veterans shouted curses as they ran all the way to the wooden church. The leading captain picked up the fallen wooden cross, devoutly and carefully wiped it with his own clothes. Then, with anger in his eyes, he looked deeply at the taunting Cipangu barbarians more than a hundred steps away. Finally, after enduring for several breaths, he clenched his teeth and commanded.

"Go! Archers, shoot a warning round! Then we’ll return! Guard at the camp!"

"Whoosh whoosh whoosh!"

A round of iron arrows were shot in an arc, aiming toward the southern village ruins from afar with the church at its center. The closest arrow nearly hit the knee of the Warrior Captain. But given the distance, the arrows lacked much force, unable to pierce armor, serving merely as a threat and venting.
