They were now back at Rose District, and it was only about a ten-minute walk to school. If Qin Jiao hadn’t stopped him, Shen Yi would have driven her!

Qin Jiao said, "My mom said walking is important. Not just at this stage, but even when it’s time to give birth, it’s still good to walk a little."

"Really?" Shen Yi, having never been a father before, genuinely didn’t know about this.

Qin Jiao said, "If you don’t believe me, go ask your mother. She’ll definitely know."

Just as the two of them left the district, they saw a young couple approaching from the side. It was obvious they were a couple because the woman was visibly pregnant and clinging to the man’s arm.

The woman wore a blissful smile, but the man was far more aloof, his handsome face completely expressionless.

If one were to use a single word to describe it, that word would be "hollow."

But those hollow eyes twitched the moment they saw Qin Jiao and Shen Yi, suddenly springing to life.

Only, the expression wasn’t one of brightness, but of gloom.

The couple was, of course, Lin Nian and Shen Feng.

And just like that, the four of them met.

Qin Jiao noticed that the smile on Lin Nian’s face was entirely genuine. She had married Shen Feng, just as she’d always wanted, becoming the new Mrs. Shen. Now, she was pregnant, and Shen Feng was treating her wonderfully.

In time, once Shen Feng became the wealthiest man alive, her life would be truly complete.

She had finally succeeded in snatching away everything that was supposed to belong to the heroine, Qin Jiao. How could she not be bursting with pride?

Qin Jiao saw her smug satisfaction but only found the woman ridiculous. ’Becoming the wealthiest man alive is no easy task.’

Take herself and Shen Yi, for instance. They had already built such a solid foundation, yet they both knew they were still a long, long way from that goal.

Three of the four had no desire to exchange greetings. Qin Jiao couldn’t be bothered to deal with the other two. Shen Yi acted as if they were completely invisible. As for Shen Feng, his feelings toward Qin Jiao and Shen Yi were too complicated, so he didn’t want to say anything either.

But Lin Nian did!

She had worked so hard to snatch everything from Qin Jiao; what was the point if she couldn’t show it off? That would be so boring!

"Qin Jiao! What a coincidence to see you two again."

Qin Jiao offered a small smile but said nothing.

Lin Nian continued, "I’m pregnant, and I can’t keep anything down, but I just love eating at the noodle shop your parents run."

Qin Jiao finally stopped in her tracks. She turned back to look at Lin Nian, whose smugness was evident in every line of her face, and said with a smile, "Oh, is that so? Then I’d suggest you not go next time. With your delicate condition, we wouldn’t want something you ate to cause a problem. My parents’ little noodle shop can’t afford the liability."

The smile on Lin Nian’s face chilled. She said, "Qin Jiao, you’re just jealous of me and Ah Feng, aren’t you?"

Beside her, Shen Feng frowned. "Xiao Nian!"

Lin Nian retorted, "What, did I say something wrong? Qin Jiao and Shen Yi have been married for so long, and she’s still not pregnant. I wonder if there’s something wrong with her. You’re still young, you should hurry and get yourselves checked out by a doctor."

Shen Yi immediately opened his mouth to retort, but Qin Jiao stopped him.

’There was no need to tell them they already had a baby on the way.’

She looked at the triumphant Lin Nian and nodded. "You’re right, you two are pretty impressive. From high school until now, is this your third child, or is it the fourth? When it comes to that, we really can’t hold a candle to you."

Upon hearing this, the faces of both Lin Nian and Shen Feng darkened in unison.

Shen Yi shot Qin Jiao an adoring look. He stifled a laugh and nodded in agreement. "Mhm, I have to admit, we can’t compare to you two on that front. Jiao Jiao, let’s go. You still have to take care of things at your department."
