Chapter 560 - 590: Wanting to Start a Business

Over the past two years, Qin Na had opened up and started talking more with the old lady. Although it was hard to change her deeply ingrained ideas, Qin Na hoped she could subtly influence her over time. That way, the whole family would become more harmonious and happy.

Xiao Lan had gotten into North City’s Foreign Language University last year. The young woman would often come visit on Saturdays and Sundays.

Qin Bogang and Sun Li had also discussed it and made plans. In a few years, once they retired, they would move to North City too.

This way, their whole big family could gather here, which was a good thing.

After saying a few more words, Qin Na noticed her mother looking a bit awkward, so she didn’t press the matter. She took Xiao Cheng and Xiao Yu and went home with Sun Jianhua.

Sun Jianhua sat on the sofa, looking as if he had something heavy on his mind.

Qin Na watched Xiao Cheng playing with Xiao Yu for a moment, then turned and poured Sun Jianhua a glass of hot water. "Jianhua, what’s wrong? Did you run into some trouble?"

Sun Jianhua folded his hands, frowned in thought, and then said, "Xiao Na, I want to start my own business."

Qin Na was taken aback. "You want to start your own business? Isn’t the clothing company doing really well right now? What’s wrong? Did you run into some trouble at work?"

"No, work is going great. There are no issues. The clothing factory’s operations have stabilized. I saw that even Xiao Yi is starting an electronics company. I’ve always wanted to be in the fruit business myself. I once heard Xiao Yi say that in the future, sales won’t just happen in stores—they could shift online. The potential is huge. That’s why I still want to go back to my fruit and vegetable business."

Qin Na didn’t understand all this talk about "online" and "offline." She just felt that things were great right now, and there was no need for Sun Jianhua to strike out on his own.

She said, "I don’t think that’s a good idea. If you strike out on your own, what will Xiao Jiao and the others think? Besides, I feel like things are great as they are."

Sun Jianhua looked at his wife. He understood why she had this desire for a comfortable, stable life, but deep in his bones, he still yearned to build a career of his own.

Back then, circumstances weren’t right, he lacked experience, and he even got scammed several times.

But the entrepreneurial fire in his heart had never once been extinguished.

But Sun Jianhua also knew that Xiao Jiao and her husband had truly helped them so much. They had sorted out their children’s schooling and given him such a good job.

Not to mention, in the past two or three years in this position, he had learned a great deal and honed his skills.

To just pack up and leave at a time like this would be really ungrateful.

But in a few more years, he would be forty. As he got older, the difficulties of striking out and fighting for his own success would only grow.

Sun Jianhua was silent for a while before finally saying, "I’ll think about it more."

Qin Na knew her husband hadn’t given up on the idea. But if he really did it, it would be a huge disservice to Xiao Jiao and the others. On the other hand, she also understood her husband’s desire to build something of his own and not work for someone else.

So she started to feel anxious about it too.

Over the next few days, Qin Jiao noticed that something seemed off with her aunt, Qin Na. She asked, "Auntie, are you not feeling well?"

"Oh, no, I’m fine. I’m doing great."

"Then why have you seemed so preoccupied these past few days?"

Beside her, Su Yun added, "That’s right, I’ve noticed it too. Xiao Na, did something happen? We’re all family. Tell us, maybe we can help you figure it out."

The more concerned Qin Jiao and Su Yun were, the more guilty Qin Na felt.
