Chapter 1204 - 1182: Layers of Interference

The techniques from the old hunter of Yan’an allowed Lann to accelerate drastically in an instant.

Yet even so, it was an undeniable fact that he was a step too late from the phase of discovering the enemy’s movements.

"Ugh!"

Even after using the [Acceleration Technique], Lann still couldn’t completely escape the attack range of the Terror Tyrannosaurus.

This Terror Tyrannosaurus was already terrifying, jumping from such a far distance.

But what’s even more terrifying is that when it landed, there was no plan or preparation at all!

It was simply smashing itself over as if it were a cannonball!

Its demonic jaw opened ferociously, seemingly roaring, but nothing could be heard in the thick fog.

The weight and size, which would’ve normally caused joint injuries from jumping, seemed like nothing to the Terror Tyrannosaurus when it smashed its body over.

Upon the instant of its body hitting the ground, the pain didn’t affect its mind already tormented by endless hunger.

The entire body began to thrash violently.

Its swinging tail and menacing maw expanded the area of damage in the thrashing.

The gigantic tail, as thick as its body, crushed the ground; hundred-year-old trees fell like fragile toothpicks. Its teeth were disordered, and the protruding jaws bit randomly.

Eventually, it pivoted, standing up on its two rear legs.

The entire process showed no pause or hesitation due to pain.

Frenzied, tyrannical, everything was for the quick kill of the opponent, everything was to devour the opponent swiftly!

All the movements in the Terror Tyrannosaurus’s life were logically based on this aim.

This resulted in its actions being urgent yet smooth, filled with a terrifying sense of oppression.

The fall of this terrifying monster caused intense ground tremors.

Lann’s [Acceleration Technique] didn’t allow him to run out of the impact range in time.

In his movement, he was knocked off his feet mid-air by the tremors!

But [Acceleration Technique] nonetheless granted Lann the inertia for forward movement.

In the instant when he lost all balance and stability, the Demon Hunter adjusted with extraordinary bodily control and his technical skills.

During his forward lunge, his palm briefly touched the ground, with the arm providing the force allowing a spin of an additional third in mid-air.

With a motion similar to a ground-assisted forward roll, he stood firmly again.

Meanwhile, behind him in the thick fog, a strong, muscular tail tip just swept past the position his legs were in mid-air.

The Terror Tyrannosaurus’s lined spikes on its resilient, thick tail would strip away pounds of flesh without crushing if struck.

Lann rotated fluidly, stabilizing instantly from the brief wobble post-flip.

And before him, only the tail tip of the Terror Tyrannosaurus remained, silently retracting into the fog.

In actuality, given the visibility of the fog now, he couldn’t see the full figure even standing beside the Terror Tyrannosaurus.

At most, he could glimpse vast black-green limbs extending into the fog, forming shadowy outlines.

The visibility was less than five meters, yet this creature was forty meters long.

But the Demon Hunter’s gaze showed no fluctuation as he stared at the tail tip vanishing into the fog soundlessly.

"Mentos, have you recorded the magic characteristics?"

In his mind, Lann asked his trusty companion.

While his gaze had already deepened.

"The characteristics have been recorded, sir, now marking the outline for you."

The bio-intellect responded, operating on the retina display.

Subsequently, despite visibility being less than five meters in the milky fog, Lann’s eyes focused beyond ten meters, tracking as if pursuing something.

Now, after activating [Spiritual Vision], the view before Lann was no longer milky white.

Instead, it appeared colorful and chaotic.

This was the form of Chaos Magic Power within the fog.

Amid the colorful chaos, a mass with somewhat differing magic power was marked by the bio-intellect’s red line outlining the enormous Terror Tyrannosaurus.

"But I still must remind you, if the Terror Tyrannosaurus goes too deep into the fog, although you can see the magic power, I cannot accurately distinguish its movements, sir."

Mentos reminded calmly.

For that is the truth.

Although Lann possessed [Spiritual Vision] to immerse his view into the ’deep world’, thus gaining the ability to observe Chaos Magic Power directly.

Even top-level mages like Tishaya require casting spells, rituals, or custom equipment for this ability.

Yet seeing is one thing, while inherently chaotic Chaos Magic Power obscuring each other can result in indistinct judgment.

"To enhance the observation range to over ten meters is already quite good."

Lann, facing the foggy field of white mist, had already turned his head to the side.

Meanwhile, he returned Aron Dite into the waist scabbard and reached for the Alchemy Pouch at his back waist.

"At least there’s a chance to fight!"

Similar to the Terror Tyrannosaurus’s movements, the massive, dark greatsword was drawn, yet the procedure was silent.

Only an overwhelming, wild and savage aura pressed down!

-----------------

Members of the Squirrel Faction clustered together apprehensively.

Two of them had already died.

One was a previously injured Half-Elf, and the other an Elf.

Both were caught by the claws of Fog Demons that suddenly appeared from blind spots in the visibility, slicing their necks or plunging into their abdomens.

The battlefield on the brink of death was the most tempering place for humans.

Though the Squirrel Faction had never practiced mutual vigilance for companions, in this silent fog, they nonetheless learned quickly, at the cost of blood.

But they still couldn’t be sure whether they could survive and escape from this fog.

The fog was silent, yet they had seen with their own eyes many towering trees in the Mahakan Mountains, like fragile decorations on a cake.

Easily broken and flung away.

The thick trunks would occasionally fall beside them, causing the ground to shake, yet there was no sound at all.

All they could see were shards of wood and stone flying silently, hitting the ground and sweeping through the air.

It hinted to them that there was something terrifying nearby, within arm’s reach, that they couldn’t hear or see.

And those strange Fog Demons were appearing more and more frequently.

How many Fog Demons had they killed so far?

...Why were there so many Fog Demons in this thick fog?

The nerves of the Squirrel Faction members were already numb from the intense sense of crisis and the sudden attacks occurring again and again.

Suddenly!

A shadow flickered in the fog, and the Squirrel Faction thought it was another boulder flying out of nowhere.

They patted each other’s shoulders in warning and crouched down.

But soon, they realized it wasn’t a boulder.

It was that warrior who had just knocked them all down barehanded!

Now, he had somehow pulled out a massive greatsword, more like a tombstone than a weapon.

He seemed to be clashing with something beyond their visible range.

But his movements didn’t look nearly as smooth as when he fought them earlier; instead, he seemed constrained.

Lann’s battle was indeed unexpectedly not going well.

This made Lann, who could usually remain calm even when blades clashed or sharp edges brushed against sweat hairs, grit his teeth.

Although his visibility was enhanced by using his [Spiritual Vision] and Mentos’s magical characteristics, extending it by more than ten meters, it was still far from normal.

His hearing was completely nullified under this white fog.

The Terror Tyrannosaurus roared several times in front of him, but sounds that would normally be enough to make an ordinary person vomit blood were completely inaudible to him just a few meters away!

Not to mention he needed to focus on footsteps and the sound of wind breaking during the battle.

What made things even more frustrating...while facing this clearly unusual Terror Tyrannosaurus, he also had to deal with the suddenly appearing Fog Demons!

The small, dim yellow eyes of the Terror Tyrannosaurus were fixed tightly on Lann.

And its muscular, bloated body looked like a rubber rod that could spring back into shape at any moment.

The Terror Tyrannosaurus’s movements were broad and sweeping, a trait tied to its hunting style since birth.

No matter who the enemy was, it would rush in, crush, and bite! If it could win, it would eat quickly; if not, it would fight to death.

Each Terror Tyrannosaurus was driven insane by hunger.

So unlike other monsters, Terror Tyrannosauruses rarely used sneaky or hidden moves.

So even without using [Spiritual Vision] and working with Mentos to observe and analyze the movement patterns of the Terror Tyrannosaurus,

Lann could discern its intentions just with his extraordinary vision!

It wanted to turn and whip its tail!

The pale red Fighting Spirit silently ignited!

Lann, bracing the [Muddy Stream·Destruction] in front of him, was ready for a hard-impact confrontation.

[Great Sword Skill: Iron Mountain Lean]!

All his muscles, the steel-like tendons coiled together, and his reinforced bones locked firm.

This highly skillful stance could significantly lessen the instant impact from an enemy’s attack.

Even allowing a human to withstand the tail whip of a Terror Tyrannosaurus...provided the timing was precise enough.

With Lann’s skill and capability, he could certainly seize that fleeting critical moment.

But..."Damn!"

The Demon Hunter cursed under his breath.

The Terror Tyrannosaurus’s thick, spiky tail swept across like a cucumber with thorns.

Yet at the crucial moment, Lann had to actively abandon his stance.

Because a newly appeared Fog Demon was reaching its claw towards his flank.

Of course, given Lann’s current armor state and the [Inner Steel] beneath his skin, he wasn’t worried about getting scratched by a Fog Demon.

But this claw from the Fog Demon would undoubtedly disrupt his stance, and the [Iron Mountain Lean] tech would likely be shattered by the Terror Tyrannosaurus’s tail if disrupted!

So Lann had to retract his move.

Yet during the retreat, the Demon Hunter, venting his frustration, slightly lowered his body and spun around with a sweeping kick!

The Fog Demon that just appeared at his side was kicked right under the feet of the Terror Tyrannosaurus.

And due to his perfectly timed movement, Lann personally only lost a few strands of silver hair from his forehead to the spiky tail whipping past.

However, just after dodging the tail sweep, the wide-eyed Demon Hunter watched as the ever-hungry Terror Tyrannosaurus, without any pause,

opened its mouth and took a big bite at the Fog Demon kicked to its feet!

But the monstrous mouth, after a few chewing attempts, awkwardly shook its head as if displeased by biting into fog.

The Fog Demon bitten by the Terror Tyrannosaurus dissipated into white mist on the spot.

But in an instant!

In Lann’s [Spiritual Vision], in the nearby white fog,

another magical outline identical to the previous Fog Demon appeared.

In his deep-set eyes, having witnessed this scene, his [Spiritual Vision] was inspired.

Lann felt he understood something.
