Chapter 1213 - 1191: The Green Dragon with a Sense of Familiarity
"Roar!"
The flames of the true dragon descended from the sky, spreading across the ground and forming a burning path.
And the Terror Tyrannosaurus was right in the middle of this path, while Lann was ’luckily’ just outside its range.
But to be safe, the Demon Hunter decided to expend some of his currently abundant physical and mental strength, using [Curse Fire] to pat a [Intense Sweating] onto his chest.
He reintegrated the Curse Fire with a pre-structured magic formation into his body, transforming a part of his body fluids to have excellent fire-resistant properties, then evaporating them to the exterior to form a misty protective layer.
The true dragons are native creatures of the Magic Middle Ages, and they even sometimes target monsters that come from the celestial spheres.
But at the same time, they are not reluctant to steal human herders’ cattle and sheep, or even eat the herders outright.
To this world, true dragons might be beneficial creatures. But for creatures living in the food chain, being killed by a true dragon or by monsters from the celestial sphere is no different.
So it’s not surprising that groups like the Clifford Plunderers, famous for dragon hunting, can make a living this way.
The dragon flame of a true dragon in this world doesn’t appear particularly distinctive.
But in terms of sheer heat, it’s quite remarkable.
The Terror Tyrannosaurus, which had originally been knocked back by the massive impact of Lann’s [Smaug Dragon Flame], just stabilized its body and continued its attack, ignoring pain and disadvantage like a mad dog.
But the true dragon fire that poured down from the distant sky covered its back.
Its body was too long, and its attack posture too precise, causing the dragon’s breath to almost fully scorch its back.
"Awooo!"
The pain of burning flesh suddenly swept over a large area, and even the nerves of the Terror Tyrannosaurus, tortured since birth, responded with a howl to vent its emotions.
The originally various skin wounds, caused by its own muscles bursting open in [Muscle Expansion State], were now rolled and hardened by the smell of roasting proteins.
And then, due to the pain, its metabolism skyrocketed further, its muscles expanded even more, and the freshly hardened skin was forced to burst open from within!
The frenzy and madness of its body and roars even startled the true dragon that had just spit fire.
The frequency of its wing flaps became erratic.
The true dragon looked down in horror.
The wild beast far larger than she was, its mouth twitching menacingly, its venomous and irrational yellow eyes tightly fixed on her.
Unfazed by the flames just endured, not showing the slightest hint of retreat from the recent pain... It was simply not like a normal creature!
Is the bloodline of such a creature really normal?!
This true dragon, though considered knowledgeable, had never seen such a naturally frenzied creature as the Terror Tyrannosaurus.
Yet, amidst the unconscious fear, the true dragon felt a rising sense of mission and an unyielding bravery in the face of disaster.
"Roar!"
She hovered mid-air, issuing an intimidating roar towards the terrifying beast below.
The roar of a true dragon carries authority, and typically upon hearing it, dragonkind or similar creatures would go weak in the knees before even starting a fight.
But the Terror Tyrannosaurus did not give an inch.
After the true dragon’s commanding roar, it immediately responded, opening its terrifying maw and roaring back to the sky!
"Awooo!!!"
The brutal roar driven by its terrifying lung capacity left spreading, visible white rings in the air!
And it wasn’t over yet.
After finishing its provocative roar, the black mist with crimson lightning at the corners of the Terror Tyrannosaurus’ mouth grew denser in an instant.
Finally, with a crisp ’crack’ similar to breaking thin ice, a large amount of Dragon Attribute Energy was constrained into a smoke pillar by its mouth and respiratory tract, spewing out into the sky!
Thankfully, the diffusion speed of the smoke pillar formed by Dragon Attribute Energy wasn’t particularly fast.
The true dragon in the sky, moving in three dimensions, managed to soar upward with a strong flap of her wings, and the smoke pillar just grazed past her tail.
At least it didn’t hit her.
But even so, Lann below saw that the Terror Tyrannosaurus’ attack and ferocity seemed to have truly frightened the true dragon.
The true dragon, who had just entered the battlefield less than three minutes ago, had already had two instances of unstable wing flapping in her brief encounters with the Terror Tyrannosaurus.
And this series of actions by the Terror Tyrannosaurus, even during its battle with Lann earlier, was considered just within the scope of ’using ordinary techniques’.
Anyone who hasn’t faced this monster directly can hardly judge the immense pressure of standing before it.
Those mountain villagers struck dumb by the passing traces of the Terror Tyrannosaurus were not cowards; they had genuinely reached the limits of their mental endurance.
"I reluctantly consider you as an ally."
Although feeling an inexplicable familiarity with this true dragon, Lann, out of caution, called out to her.
"You handle its head; I’ll try to see if I can disable its legs!"
True dragon, as long as it didn’t come from a remote area, should be able to understand human speech.
After all, this is a world dominated by humans.
Sure enough, the true dragon in the sky—according to Lann’s knowledge, this grayish scale color should belong to a green dragon—nodded towards the Demon Hunter.
This action made Lann feel more familiar.
It always seemed like he had seen this habitual small movement of the true dragon when its subtle muscles twitched somewhere before.
But now was not the time to think about these things, as the Terror Tyrannosaurus’s stomach sack was still drawing nutrients transmitted from the Curse.
Furious emotions, physical pain, the enemy close at hand—all these factors were further uncontrollably increasing its body’s metabolic speed.
"Roar!!!"
Overflowing with Dragon Attribute Energy almost spilling from its mouth, the Terror Tyrannosaurus lowered its head to bite at Lann, who was approaching proactively!
But the Demon Hunter suddenly accelerated upon contact, rushing past beneath its mouth.
The Dragon Attribute Energy even shooting out during normal biting from the Terror Tyrannosaurus’s mouth made Lann not want to be touched by it at all.
And as the Terror Tyrannosaurus lowered its body, making a biting gesture with its long neck downwards, the green dragon in the sky seized the opportunity to swoop down!
The true dragons possess a four-leg, two-wing structure, making them much more advantageous in close combat and physical struggles than the two-leg, two-wing dragon creatures.
Normally, any creature with brains shouldn’t lower its head to focus on attacking a target at its feet while still having enemies flying above.
However, even the green dragon in the sky—an intruder that entered the battlefield less than five minutes ago—could clearly tell: this Terror Tyrannosaurus now was nothing but a purely insane creature!
The green dragon swooped down from the sky, clutching onto the ridged, muscle-defined spine of the Terror Tyrannosaurus resembling a violent mass of flesh.
With limbs like a butcher’s hook, it dug into the thick, undefended skin and muscle of the Terror Tyrannosaurus, leaving new scars on its body.
The wind pressure from the green dragon’s winged swoop stirred up the stones and dust on the ground, already trampled by the Terror Tyrannosaurus, briefly lifting them into the air before they settled back down.
"Woo!"
But a short and restrained whimper still came from the mouth of the green dragon.
She really didn’t expect the temperature of the crimson muscles on the Terror Tyrannosaurus’s back to be so high!
Her claws grabbing onto it were akin to holding onto a branding iron!
No wonder this creature’s previous breath toward her was merely a venting roar of pain rather than fear or shrinking, for its own body was already in such agony!
Yet, despite the initial surprise, a sense of determination and fierceness drove her to continue her assault even as her limbs and claws were scalded by pain.
After the claws dug into the muscle of the Terror Tyrannosaurus, the green dragon started flapping her wings forcefully, pulling towards the sky.
The idea was sound. The skeletal structure of the Terror Tyrannosaurus offered it no effective way to handle things on its back.
If the green dragon could keep pulling the Terror Tyrannosaurus’s neck upwards, rendering it unable to lower its head to focus on its feet, Lann would have his chance.
But the green dragon clearly lacked a direct understanding of the Terror Tyrannosaurus’s physical strength.
She believed that with her wingspan reaching twenty meters, while the Terror Tyrannosaurus, though forty meters long, with her advantageous position, she was only contending with the neck muscles of the Terror Tyrannosaurus.
Thus, she thought she could manage.
This idea was gravely mistaken.
Lann had just rushed under the Terror Tyrannosaurus, preparing to ’fix’ these iron tower-like, solid feet that could support such a monstrous creature to jump around effortlessly.
But immediately, the commotion from above and the feedback from the Terror Tyrannosaurus’s muscles made him instantly realize what was happening.
Mentos, moving with the owner’s thought, immediately processed and presented the possible scenario of the two dragon beasts’ battle above.
... Not optimistic at all.
"I asked you to handle its head, not to get close to the flesh..."
"Boom!"
Lann didn’t even have a chance to shout out the word ’struggle’ when the tense muscles of the Terror Tyrannosaurus drove its body, creating a booming sound in the air.
From Lann’s perspective, he only saw an enormous burst of black blood froth from the Terror Tyrannosaurus’s back, which even its gigantic body couldn’t fully cover!
Lann was right beneath the Terror Tyrannosaurus, looking up at its dark green belly, and only the edges of his vision could see the moonlit night sky.
And now, it was all suddenly pitch black!
After the darkness came a ghastly scream!
"Awoo!"
The Terror Tyrannosaurus never planned on being led by the green dragon clutching the nape of its neck, nor did it care about the muscles on its neck.
Thus, the beast made a simple choice.
... It turned its neck abruptly and fiercely, widening and tearing the wounds where the green dragon’s claws had dug into its neck and flesh with utter disregard!
The uneven wounds began at the Terror Tyrannosaurus’s nape, stretching all the way to the neck and back!
Saying those hideous gashes were caused by the green dragon’s claws—the green dragon herself wouldn’t dare claim it!
... Those were wounds the Terror Tyrannosaurus tore from itself!
