The bathroom door creaked open. In the darkness, a round, slender head cautiously peeked out. Its large, round eyes shimmered with a faint blue light, like a pair of precious gems.

Through the crack in the door, its eyes surveyed the living room.

That Yu Dian Farm Dog was sleeping in the living room again tonight.

’He didn’t notice me tonight, either...’

The blue-eyed creature breathed a sigh of relief. It tiptoed out, propping the door open before slipping into the living room.

It was a Pet Beast shaped like a sea serpent, but with lizard-like limbs. It had large, pink, fleshy wings on either side of its forelimbs. A closer look would reveal that its entire body was pink. A pair of small, rounded horns grew from its head, along with a tuft of fine, multicolored fuzz that looked like a hair ornament.

With every small movement, a faint, splashing sound echoed around the Little Sea Serpent.

Water Element High Level Extraordinary Skill: Hidden Water Field.

This was a stealth-type Skill used by Deep Sea Pet Beasts to mask their energy signatures and evade predators. However, it had a drawback: an unskilled user would create a faint sound of flowing water when casting it outside of an aquatic environment.

The Little Sea Serpent had been anxious the past couple of days, so worried that Yu Bao would hear the noise that she hadn’t dared to leave the bathroom.

But then she discovered that the dog didn’t seem very bright; it hadn’t noticed her at all. And so, she grew bolder.

’Open the door, sneak to the cafeteria downstairs, steal some food, sneak back, close the door...’

The Little Sea Serpent mentally reviewed her heist, advancing with light steps. As she passed in front of Yu Bao, she slowed her movements to a crawl, even holding her breath for a moment.

Yu Bao’s brow furrowed.

The Little Sea Serpent instantly panicked.

Then she saw Yu Bao smack his lips, yawn, and roll over.

The sound of his snoring started up again...

The Little Sea Serpent breathed a sigh of relief. Her tense body went limp, and a good deal of water seeped out from around her.

’That scared me to death! I thought I’d woken the big dog up...’

The Little Sea Serpent kept her eyes fixed on Yu Bao, backing away one step at a time toward the door. Only when she was opening it did she finally let out a true sigh of relief.

Only to bump right into Yu Bao, who was waiting for her with an innocent look on his face.

"Hee hee... ⌓‿⌓"

Yu Bao offered a friendly smile as a Yellow Earth Wall erupted from the floor, sealing the doorway completely.

"HIIISSS!! QAQ"

The terrified Little Sea Serpent slipped. Seeing her escape was cut off, she spun around to flee back to the bathroom, only to find that door was also blocked by a Yellow Earth Wall.

"CLICK—"

Yu Bao leaped up and flicked on the light switch with his paw. The Little Sea Serpent’s delicate pink body was exposed under the sudden glare, trembling uncontrollably.

BANG! Several bedroom doors flew open. The very people who had just claimed they were going to bed emerged with their Pet Beasts, completely surrounding the Little Sea Serpent.

The Little Sea Serpent looked left and right, forward and back. There was a sense of overwhelming pressure from every direction.

"Hiss!" The Little Sea Serpent bared her teeth at Yu Bao, revealing a set of small, rounded teeth in a threat display.

’Quickly, let me go!’

’I’m super fierce!’

Yu Bao tilted his head, his eyes curving into happy crescents as he looked at the Little Sea Serpent.

’Soooo cute I could just squish you~’

"HISS-ROWR!" Seeing no way out, a fierce light glinted in the Little Sea Serpent’s eyes. Baring her fangs, she lunged at Yu Bao.

’Even in death, I will show this Land Species the might of a beast from the sea!’

But Yu Bao didn’t even use a Skill. Relying on his high agility of 2.26, he dodged and snapped in a single fluid motion. He gently bit the scruff of the Little Sea Serpent’s neck, leaving her dangling in the air.

"Hiss! Hiss!"

The terrified Little Sea Serpent struggled for a moment, her delicate pink tail whipping back and forth against Yu Bao’s body in an attempt to make him let go.

But not only did Yu Bao refuse to let go, he actually looked like he was enjoying it.

’Is... is this the power of a land-dwelling Pet Beast? Not only is he not in pain from my attacks, he even takes pleasure in battle...’

Yu Bao’s expression was the last straw, utterly shattering the Little Sea Serpent’s will to fight.

Having lost all courage to resist, the Little Sea Serpent curled into a trembling ball and buried her head deep within her coils.

"Ahem. Knock it off." Seeing the look of pure bliss on Yu Bao’s face, Su Zhi couldn’t resist flicking him on the head. He then scanned the Little Sea Serpent.

The Pearl Harbor Colored Snake. It was an Exotic Beast unique to the Pearl Harbor region. They were extremely rare and, like the Storm Fish Dragon, were a protected species that non-Beast Tamers were strictly forbidden from raising or capturing.

Liu Yuhang hadn’t scanned it. "Is that a Storm Fish Dragon?" he asked, surprised.

Su Zhi handed him the phone. "It’s a Pearl Harbor Sea Serpent."

The young of the two species are indeed nearly identical; the differences only become apparent after they turn one.

Without modern tools like a Beast Tamer’s specialized scanner, even a highly experienced Beast Tamer would have a hard time telling them apart at a glance.

Even the two species of Exotic Beast were known to mix up their young, only realizing the mistake after raising them for a while before returning the little ones to their proper parents...

Shao Ya crouched down for a closer look, her sapphire-blue eyes blinking. "Wow, you really caught it. By the way, how did Yu Bao know it was there in the first place?"

"Arf! Woof woof~"

Seizing the opportunity to brag, Yu Bao began his grand tale.

As it turned out, he habitually practiced his Earth Force Field. He had sensed something was off way back on the cruise ship.

At first, he thought it was just some aquatic Exotic Beasts, but after they checked into the hotel, he realized that strange feeling had followed them.

So, for the past few days, Yu Bao had been pretending to sleep while using his Earth Force Field to survey the entire room, gradually mapping out the intruder’s movements.

Thanks to the precise, rigorous, meticulous, and... *sweet*... plan devised by Yu Bao the Wise One, the suspect beast was finally caught red-handed today!

As Yu Bao spoke, his mouth had automatically loosened. The Little Sea Serpent seized the chance to break free and frantically tried to slither away.
