The purple celestial thunder manifested and descended. Fang Qingyuan recognized it as the Purple Sky Divine Thunder. Its power was so immense that gods and ghosts would flee before it. He had originally thought this thunder would only appear at the very end, yet unexpectedly, the Laws of Heaven and Earth had unleashed it on only the third round.

As the Purple Sky Divine Thunder was about to strike, Fang Qingyuan remained internally calm. ’An early arrival has its advantages.’ He was long prepared for a Thunder Tribulation of such immense power, and he had more than one countermeasure.

He pointed his Sacrificial Sword at the banners on the Magic Altar. Instantly, the eight banners stirred without a wind, flapping violently with a WHOOSH.

"Cross the Sea!"

Fang Qingyuan chanted casually. This was a Divine Technique from the Seven-Star Altar, called ’Cross the Sea’.

’How could the Seven-Star Altar be related to the sea?’

Fang Qingyuan had wondered about this himself. It was only after obtaining this Magic Altar that he understood. ’Cross the Sea’ was a phrase with a hidden meaning. The explicit part was ’Cross the Sea,’ but the implicit part was ’Deceive the Heavens.’ In reality, it was the idiom "deceive the heavens to cross the sea."

To avoid the taboo of offending the heavens’ will, it was called the ’Cross the Sea’ Divine Technique, but its true intention was to deceive and cheat the heavens.

This Divine Technique could mask one’s aura, create illusions and distortions, confuse the heavenly will, disrupt all sensory abilities, and evade a Celestial Tribulation.

When Fang Qingyuan activated this Divine Technique of the Seven-Star Altar, his presence as the tribulation’s target instantly vanished from the perception of the Laws of Heaven and Earth above.

The descending bolt of Purple Sky Divine Thunder, which had been aimed directly at Fang Qingyuan’s Magic Altar, suddenly paused mid-air, as bewildered as a hunting dog that had lost its quarry.

Then, a flicker of Fang Qingyuan’s aura appeared for a brief moment at a location ten miles away.

A tremendous roar followed. In Fang Qingyuan’s perception, a massive column of energy had erupted at that spot ten miles away. Everything there had turned purple.

This was a characteristic of the Purple Sky Divine Thunder: to assimilate all foreign matter.

Witnessing such power, Fang Qingyuan’s heart trembled. ’Thank goodness I didn’t choose to face that head-on. Otherwise, my Seven-Star Altar would have been blown to pieces.’

However, evading the Purple Sky Divine Thunder was not without a cost. The eight banners on the Seven-Star Altar cracked and split, clearly rendered useless.

A significant portion of Fang Qingyuan’s Magical Power had also been depleted—the price for activating the Divine Technique.

Glancing at the damaged altar, Fang Qingyuan paid it no mind. The pressure from the Celestial Tribulation was growing ever more intense. He had no spare mental energy for irrelevant emotions. He had to focus his entire mind, body, and spirit on facing the Celestial Tribulation.

Following the Purple Sky Divine Thunder, another three rounds of tribulation thunder struck in succession. However, the combined power of these three rounds was not as great as that single bolt of Purple Sky Divine Thunder.

Therefore, Fang Qingyuan dealt with them without much difficulty. How could his profound accumulation of power over the years be for naught?

But watching the bolts of Thunder Fire from the Celestial Tribulation rain down one after another, Fang Qingyuan understood that this was merely the appetizer.

’It seems I’ll have to endure all of the Jade Star Thirty-Six Thunder Tribulations.’

To open up the void and evolve a world was, under the watch of the Heaven and Earth Law Will, the most heaven-defying of acts. It was like how a Celestial Demon would arrive the moment a Buddha of the Buddhist Teachings attained enlightenment; or how a great calamity would surely descend upon the appearance of the Taoist Sect’s Jade Capital Divine Talisman; or how the very heavens would press down upon a sage of the Confucian Sect who transcended the mundane.

But Fang Qingyuan’s current cultivation level was far from that of the aforementioned Great Divine Power Users. Although the Laws of Heaven and Earth desperately wanted to destroy him, they still had to operate within certain rules.

Otherwise, if a bolt of Thunder Fire far exceeding that of a Nascent Soul Cultivator’s tribulation were to descend, Fang Qingyuan would be killed on the spot, no matter how well-prepared he was.

Therefore, no matter how powerful this Celestial Tribulation was, Fang Qingyuan still had a hope of passing it. As long as he could withstand it, a vast new world of possibilities would open up to him.

....

Several dozen miles from the periphery, Bear Wind was pressing down on Jinbao’s head. No matter how hard it struggled, it couldn’t move.

He squinted, looking toward his own lair in the distance where Thunder Fire rained down like a storm. A pang of distress flashed through his heart. ’I thought Fang Qingyuan’s tribulation would just be a formality,’ he mused. ’Who knew the Celestial Tribulation would be this much more powerful than I imagined? The sight of some of those tribulation bolts makes even my heart pound with fear.’

Just then, a Great White Bear came running over, waddling as it went. It reported to Bear Wind in the gruff language of bears.

"Human Cultivators are sneaking over? They probably think some treasure is being born. Those greedy, disgusting insects. You few, go intercept them. If you run into anyone who doesn’t know their place, kill them on the spot."

Bear Wind gave the order. Immediately, the Great White Bear, along with four or five Golden Core Demon Beasts, led waves of Qi Cultivation and Foundation Establishment Demon Beasts, spreading out like a tide.

"Ow! You little cub, you dare bite me? Getting bold, are we?"

Bear Wind, having just issued his command, felt a sharp pain in his paw. He looked down and saw that Jinbao was gnawing on his hand.

Jinbao’s teeth were incredibly strong; it possessed the Talent for swallowing gold and chewing iron. Caught off guard, Bear Wind almost had his skin pierced by the little cub’s bite.

Bear Wind raised his other paw, intending to give Jinbao a smack, but as he lifted it, he found he couldn’t bring himself to do it.

Mumbling to himself, he instead pinched Jinbao’s snout, trying to get it to let go. But Jinbao paid no heed, biting down even harder.

......

This scene imprinted itself upon Fang Qingyuan’s mind, flowing through it as clearly as a stream of water, yet it failed to stir any extraneous emotions within him.

Under the Celestial Tribulation, his spiritual sense was expanding at a rapid pace. This was because the Immortal Mansion had absorbed an immense amount of Spiritual Power and was itself expanding rapidly. The Immortal Mansion now shared the same origin and life as Fang Qingyuan. This symbiotic link was why, in the past, it was always an increase in Fang Qingyuan’s own cultivation that had provided the impetus for the Immortal Mansion’s expansion.
