Beast Taming: I Have an Immortal Mansion

Chapter 498 - 358: People from Black Wind Valley

Three tranquil years passed in the blink of an eye. For a Cultivator, time flows at a different pace.

To Fang Qingyuan, however, the three years had flown by. The three-year mourning period had just ended when unrest began to stir in White Mountain.

Rumors of discord and impending war once again spread among several Nascent Soul Powers. Unlike the previous conflict between the Pill Alliance and the Spirit Wood Alliance, this one involved four or five such powers.

The reason, as usual, was nothing more than conflicting interests. After all, the White Mountain People had always waged war for profit, not principles.

None of this had anything to do with Fang Qingyuan. The only matter that concerned him was the White Mountain Beast Taming Sect’s campaign to open up Moyun Valley.

For the past three years, the White Mountain Beast Taming Sect had never stopped clearing out the Cloud-Clawed Lizard’s territory. They would kill a Foundation Establishment Demon Beast one day and clear a small patch of land the next. Through this piecemeal effort over three years, they had managed to deal with all the demon beasts, large and small, in Moyun Valley.

From the battles over these three years, Lechuan felt that the Old Lion would not appear again—or at least, not easily.

The last time it appeared, it was likely drawn out by the aftershocks from a battle between several individuals with Nascent Soul Battle Power. As for why the Old Lion had suddenly vanished afterward, Lechuan had managed to gather some information over the past three years—information he now wished he didn’t know.

The reason was simple: the Old Lion’s battle power was simply terrifying. It was no wonder that Yue’e Ancestor, no matter how much she was pressured, had refused to come and take charge of the situation.

「One day」

Fang Qingyuan was in his Immortal Mansion, fiddling with a pile of parts. Using his divine sense to sort through them, he quickly assembled a Spirit Field Puppet. He inserted a Spirit Stone, channeled Magic Formulas into it, and watched as the puppet wobbled to its feet. It swayed for a few steps before staggering and collapsing.

Seeing how useless the Spirit Field Puppet was, Fang Qingyuan let out one of his customary sighs, retrieved it, and continued his research.

This was a Spirit Field Puppet of Fang Qingyuan’s own making. Compared to the genuine ones working in the distant fields, his new creation was far more clumsy.

The Bee Queen snacked contentedly to the side, watching Fang Qingyuan work. Beside her, Nanli was also quite busy, occasionally pouring her tea and water.

Further in the distance, Yinbao stretched its massive body in mid-air, stirring up clouds of mist and vapor. This condensed into rain that fell upon the Spirit Fields below, watering the flourishing crops.

Fang Qingyuan had also brought in Yinbao’s several wives and concubines to join it. The Immortal Mansion was now vast enough to comfortably house Yinbao and its entire family, so Fang Qingyuan decided to move them all from the sect to the Immortal Mansion to take on the task of making rain.

Yinbao much preferred the Immortal Mansion to the cramped Beast Cages back at the sect. Thanks to three years of nourishment and Yu Ran’s generous past contribution, the Spiritual Qi in the Immortal Mansion was now even richer than before.

It was now at the level of a Tier Two Upper Grade land and was on the verge of reaching the standard of a Tier Three Spirit Land.

Of course, not every location within the Immortal Mansion had Spiritual Qi approaching Tier Three density. Now that it spanned a vast fifty-li radius, the Spiritual Qi had finally begun to settle and rise naturally, just like in the outside world.

Before Fang Qingyuan had achieved Core Formation, the Spiritual Qi concentration had been roughly uniform across most of the Black Land in the Immortal Mansion. But now that the space was larger, the qi naturally clung to areas better suited to retaining it, resulting in an uneven distribution.

This was a natural phenomenon, and Fang Qingyuan wasn’t concerned. Even in the areas where the Spiritual Qi was thinner, it was still far more abundant than in the outside world. At the very least, growing Spirit Rice was not an issue.

Within the Immortal Mansion, the Purple Bamboo Forest had indisputably become the place most abundant in Spiritual Power. After a hundred-odd years of growth, the forest had expanded from the original ten stalks of Tier One Lower Grade purple bamboo into a dense grove covering nearly a thousand mu. It had even produced mutated, high-tier spiritual materials like Jade Sound Bamboo, Purple Thunder Bamboo, and Sword Sound Bamboo.

Fang Qingyuan paid little mind to these changes. With the Bee Queen managing everything, he didn’t have to worry about the Purple Bamboo Forest’s development.

The Bee Queen nibbled on her refreshments. The thought of Jinbao still eating dirt out in the Barbaric Wilderness made her feel even more content.

For the last three years, Jinbao had been protecting the disciples of the Qingyuan Sect in the Barbaric Wilderness. Thanks to his presence, not a single Qingyuan Sect disciple had died in the years of fighting. Among all the pioneering parties, the Qingyuan Sect had become synonymous with safety.

It reached the point where even in the heat of battle, other teams would feel a sense of relief the moment they saw the Qingyuan Sect’s group arrive. ’We’re safe now,’ they would think.

This feeling was peculiar, and Jinbao’s fearsome reputation played a huge role. As a ferocious Companion Beast capable of withstanding a surprise attack from a Golden Core Demon Beast and even engaging it in melee, Jinbao’s name had become widely known.

The other part of this sense of security came from Jiang Wanqin.

Over the past few years, Jiang Wanqin’s efforts to rescue people far and wide had built a reputation for the Qingyuan Sect. Many Cultivators from the outside now knew that the sect had a Fairy who was as kind-hearted as she was beautiful, with formidable healing skills.

Some Cultivators even went so far as to intentionally injure themselves for a chance to meet her, hoping to get close and receive her healing.

Of course, whenever Jiang Tianfang discovered anyone like that, he would call over other disciples, and they would pile on the person and give them a much more severe beating.

After three years of conflict, both Jinbao and Jiang Wanqin had amassed their own crowds of admirers. When Fang Qingyuan heard about it, he simply laughed it off.
