Chapter 295 - 267: Dormitory
Li Qian walked over to the balcony and gazed out.
The view outside was a picturesque scene of a shimmering lake and verdant trees, incredibly pleasant.
All in all, Li Qian was very satisfied with living in an apartment like this. He hadn’t given much thought to a bigger room or more luxurious conditions.
After all, he was here to study, not to indulge himself.
Pursuing a comfortable life was fine, especially since he’d be living here for a long time. But there was no need to be overly demanding and lose sight of his priorities.
"Thank you for all your help today, Teacher Jin." Turning back into the room, Li Qian looked at Teacher Jin and expressed his gratitude.
Upon hearing this, Teacher Jin immediately waved his hand. "No need to thank me. Helping you with the enrollment procedures is just part of my job."
"The enrollment is complete and your dorm is arranged. In that case, I won’t disturb your rest, Student Li Qian. If anything comes up, you can call me anytime."
Li Qian nodded. They had already exchanged contact information earlier in Dean Fei’s office.
After thanking him again, Teacher Jin took his leave. Li Qian surveyed the apartment that would be his for a long time to come, a faint smile gracing his lips.
The apartment was fairly clean overall, but since it had been unoccupied for a while, it had inevitably collected some dust.
A quick scan revealed that the previous occupant had left behind a complete set of cleaning tools. Not wanting to waste any time, Li Qian grabbed a broom and started sweeping.
Since the apartment wasn’t very dirty, just a little dusty, the cleaning was relatively easy.
After cleaning for about half an hour, Li Qian scanned the room again and saw that it was now much neater and tidier.
He took out his bedding from the Crystal Necklace and began to make his bed. Halfway through, his phone suddenly rang.
Li Qian glanced at his phone screen. The call was from Fatty An.
Without hesitation, he pressed the answer button.
Fatty An’s voice immediately blared from the phone; since it was on speaker, it was quite loud. "Qianzi, you at the dorm yet?"
"I’ve already moved in," Li Qian replied with a smile, hearing Fatty An’s question.
"I’ve moved in too! By the way, what was up with Senior Sister Hong Ling taking you away by yourself?" After just a few sentences, Fatty An couldn’t help but start gossiping.
Knowing full well what kind of person Fatty An was, Li Qian cut him off. "What else could it be? For the enrollment procedures, obviously."
"That Senior Sister Hong Ling has a killer figure and a pretty face, too. You didn’t have any... other ideas?" Fatty An’s voice took on a lecherous tone.
Li Qian heard this and retorted irritably, "Actually, I did. I wanted to ask her how she’d deal with a fatso with a big mouth if she heard what you just said."
Hearing this, Fatty An immediately started begging for mercy. "Don’t, Qianzi! You absolutely can’t tell her! I was just kidding!"
After bantering for a while, Fatty An requested a video call. Li Qian didn’t think much of it and accepted. An image immediately appeared on his phone screen.
On the screen, Fatty An was holding his phone, panning across a dorm room. It was a double room and looked pretty nice.
Through the phone, Fatty An showed off the inside of the dorm, saying smugly, "See, Qianzi? I’m at my dorm. It’s a shared room, but you can see Cui Liu Lake from the balcony. The view is pretty great."
Li Qian looked at the balcony view Fatty An was showing, which seemed rather familiar. He couldn’t help but mutter to himself, ’So this lake is called Cui Liu Lake...’
On the phone, Fatty An was still showing off. "Bro, look, the dorm is pretty big and spacious. This is my roommate, Zahar."
Just as he was speaking, a young man with thick eyebrows, big eyes, and a full beard suddenly burst into the frame. Seeing this, Fatty An went ahead and introduced him.
"Hello," Li Qian said, greeting the fully-bearded Gaochang Race man. In his head, however, he couldn’t help but roast him.
’This guy is Fatty An’s roommate, which means he’s probably only eighteen years old, too.’
’To look like that at eighteen... Li Qian could only think that his life was going to be much easier in some respects.’
After exchanging greetings, Zahar left. They didn’t know each other, after all, and there wasn’t much to say beyond "hello."
Fatty An looked around and noticed that Li Qian’s phone seemed to be pointed at the ceiling, showing nothing. He asked curiously, "By the way, bro, which building are you in? I’ll come hang out when I’m free."
Driven by curiosity, he continued, "Put on your VR glasses and let me see your dorm."
"I’m still cleaning, it’s a bit of a mess." Li Qian refused without a second thought. This guy had been endlessly gloating about his own dorm on the phone.
If he saw his apartment, his composure would probably shatter in an instant.
It couldn’t be helped. Fatty An had paid a hefty price for that double room, but Li Qian’s apartment had been assigned to him completely free of charge. The difference was obvious at a glance.
"It’s fine, I just want a look. Who knows, after I’m done here, maybe I can even come over and help you."
Since Fatty An had put it that way, Li Qian no longer held back. He took out his VR glasses and began to scan his surroundings.
The VR glasses were connected to Li Qian’s phone, so after he put them on, everything he saw was simultaneously displayed on Fatty An’s screen.
"Fine, take a look then." Li Qian used the VR glasses to pan over the entire apartment. After seeing it, Fatty An’s composure instantly shattered. "Holy crap! Are you sure you’re in a school dorm and not a hotel room?!"
Finally, when Li Qian’s view shifted to the balcony, taking in the shimmering, emerald lake, he cried out in astonishment, "That’s... Cui Liu Lake!"
Once he got a clear look at the view from the balcony and figured out roughly where Li Qian was, he couldn’t help but curse. "Damn. Pretend I didn’t say anything."
At that moment, he was filled with envy, but it was just envy; there wasn’t much jealousy.
He knew very well that everything Li Qian had obtained today was earned through his own strength.
Besides, given the strength and Talent Li Qian had demonstrated, receiving this kind of treatment wasn’t an exaggeration at all.
Li Qian chuckled and looked at Fatty An on his phone screen, a faint smile playing on his lips. "Didn’t you say you were going to come over and help me clean?"
Hearing this, Fatty An immediately put on a confused expression and played dumb. "Huh? What’d you say? My signal’s getting bad, gotta go."
’This guy!’ Li Qian muttered to himself, then couldn’t help but laugh and shake his head.
