"What’s there to talk about," Han Li said coldly. "The fact that I’m still alive must be a huge disappointment for you."

The Han Family Master quickly retorted, "How could that be? After the incident with the Tian Family, I’ve been sending people to look for you, but we could never find you. Seeing you safe and sound now, I can finally rest easy."

"Li’er, we’re father and son, not enemies. I know you hate me, but back then, the Tian Family was too powerful. For the sake of the Han Family, I had no choice but to send you and your mother away..."

’It was all the Tian Family’s fault. If anyone’s to blame, it’s the Tian Family!’

Han Li was silent for a moment, then suddenly asked, "I’m your first child, right?"

The Han Family Master was taken aback. Thinking his appeal to emotion had worked, he quickly nodded. "Yes, you are my first child, the eldest son. I had high hopes for you."

"But I remember," Han Li said, knitting his brows as if in thought, "your second son is only a year younger than me."

The Han Family Master froze. Then he heard Han Li continue, "I had just turned one, and you already had a child with someone else. And you talk about deep affection..."

He let out a sneer. "Cold and heartless... that describes you perfectly."

Han Li had never felt resentment toward the Han Family Master. No, it was more like he saw the man as a stranger and didn’t want to waste a single drop of emotion on him.

He only felt it was unfair to his mother from his past life.

After saying this, Han Li watched the Han Family Master’s face turn pale, then flush. After a long moment, the man stammered:

"You... you were going to be sent to the Tian Family. The Han Family needed an heir."

He was growing flustered and angry. Coaxing his son with a few nice words was his limit; Han Li’s words and actions had now pushed him past his tolerance.

Han Li saw no remorse in him, only fury born of embarrassment. He was disappointed for a second, but quickly let it go.

’A man like the Han Family Master would never admit he’d done anything wrong.’

Han Li lost all interest in talking to him. "Since you already sent me away and the Han Family has another heir, what are you doing looking for me now?"

"You’d better stay away from me from now on. Otherwise, I won’t go easy on you just because you’re my biological father."

’Besides, that blood connection was from a past life. Now, he was the child of his Female Mother and Beast Fathers.’

"No! You can’t leave!"

The Han Family Master instinctively blocked his path, preventing him from leaving.

He’d had many children, but none of them were promising. He had thought the Han Family was headed for decline, but then he unexpectedly ran into Han Li here.

The Han Family Master guessed that Han Li very likely had Heavenly Level... or even Divine level Spiritual Power!

If he could bring him back, how could the family not prosper?

The Han Family Master had been distracted and dazed for the past few days, mulling over this exact issue—how to coax Han Li into coming back.

Han Li didn’t know that the younger generation of the Han Family was so pathetic that you couldn’t even pick a tall one from a crowd of dwarves, so he was unaware of the Han Family Master’s scheming.

He rolled his eyes and started to walk around the Han Family Master to head back.

’There’s a lunatic here. I need to get back to An’an!’

But the Han Family Master was determined not to let him leave and kept blocking him. Han Li’s patience ran out, and he was about to get physical.

’No one is around. If the Han Family Master died here, no one would know.’ Just as he was about to lose control, Yu An’s voice came from ahead.

"A li, I was wondering why you were gone for so long. It turns out someone was holding you up."

She and Mo Yan walked over, followed by Han Fengyun and Han Xiaoyun.

Immediately, the two Beast Fathers flanked Han Li, glaring menacingly at the Han Family Master.

"What do you think you’re doing?"

Han Li’s expression softened. He stood behind the two Beast Fathers, letting them back him up.

"An’an, Female Mother, he’s the one who won’t let me leave."

Han Li grumbled, tattling. It seemed that besides his two Beast Fathers, he also wanted his Female Master and Female Mother to back him up.

Mo Yan glanced at the two fierce-looking males and chuckled. "Your Beast Fathers are enough. Come on, the food is ready."

"Can’t you handle it yourself?" Yu An poked his arm. "All that training your spiritual power for nothing."

Han Li cleared his throat. "I just didn’t get the chance."

’If they hadn’t shown up, I would have thrown a punch. I definitely wouldn’t have gone easy on the Han Family Master.’

After watching the three of them leave, Han Fengyun slowly and deliberately rolled up his sleeves.

He smiled at the pale-faced Han Family Master. "Now, let’s have a talk about you trying to steal my son."

Han Xiaoyun snorted. "My son."

Han Fengyun shrugged. "Close enough. The point is, someone is trying to steal him from us."

Internal competition was one thing, but if an outsider was involved, they would naturally present a united front.

The Han Family Master limped his way to the exit. Strangely, the Mo Family Head and Master Lan showed no concern for his injuries.

Because it had belatedly dawned on them: if Han Li went home with the Han Family Master, wouldn’t the Han Family surpass them by a huge margin?

The four families had supported each other for many years and had a certain bond. But if one family attempted to surpass the other three, those three would spare no effort in dragging it back down.

’A family can prosper, but not more than us.’

’It’s best if we all stay on the same level. No one should think of getting ahead. If we’re going to rot, we’ll all rot in the ground together.’

The originally harmonious and lively group was now split into three factions. Feng Qi led the Feng Family in staying out of it, focused only on quietly developing their strength.

With the Han Family Master’s intentions exposed, the Han Family formed one faction on its own, while the Mo Family and the Lan family formed the third.

Compared to the other teams, the atmosphere among them was eerily silent.

Yu An sat on a rock, cracking melon seeds as she enjoyed watching them fall apart.

She hadn’t even done anything. Han Li wasn’t even thinking about getting revenge on his scumbag dad, and they were already at each other’s throats.

’Serves them right!’

"Auntie An, this fruit is for you."

Yu An had just met a small team. They were from Earth Geography City, a group of friends led by a young married couple.

The couple had brought their daughter along. Their goal was to find the Snow Flower to treat their daughter’s illness.

Yu An took the fruit from the little girl and smiled sweetly. "Thank you, Tongtong. Auntie will give you some candy."

She had casually mentioned that the fruit was delicious while talking with the couple, and this little girl had actually gone off with one of the older boys in the team to pick some for her.

She took out some homemade milk candies and fruit gummies, but though Tongtong shyly thanked her, she didn’t accept them.

She hadn’t picked the fruit for Auntie just to get candy.

Tongtong said in a tiny voice, "Auntie An, it feels so, so comfortable being near you. Can I stay here with you for a little while?"

Yu An was taken aback for a moment. Then she heard Tongtong add, "Just for a little bit. My body hurts so much, I feel like I’m about to cry."

"Auntie An, if Mommy and Daddy see me cry, they’ll start crying too."

From her chat with the parents earlier, Yu An had learned that Tongtong had a strange illness. Her whole body was in pain, but doctors couldn’t find anything wrong. Sometimes the pain was so bad she would pass out.

It was only after learning of the Snow Flower’s existence that the team had come here to try their luck.

Yu An pulled Tongtong into her embrace. Feeling the little girl’s body relax, Yu An started talking to her to distract her, while simultaneously using her superpower to examine her body.

Since fate had brought them together and the couple had been so warm to her, Yu An didn’t mind lending a hand if she could.

It pained her to see such a young child forced to be so mature.

Similarly, if her own children were ever in trouble, she would hope someone would be there to help them too.
