The Steam Councilor did not reply, just drove the steam carriage and chased in the direction Cold Mountain and Sword Star left.

Cold Mountain and Sword Star pushed their speed to the maximum, barely resting on the way, rushing to Bai She Avenue in one go.

Cold Mountain’s Power of Root was not suitable for traveling quickly; he accelerated on the road purely by burning Energy without any technique.

Even for a ranked player like him, it was somewhat unbearable.

In contrast, Sword Star used his Sword Control Technique, which was inherently a magic technique for fast movement; he consumed little on the way, and his status was even better than Cold Mountain’s.

Due to being tailed by the Steam Council’s spies, the two did not personally visit the Secret Security Department headquarters, but they knew it was located at Number 6 Bai She Avenue, right next to the Police Hall, making it easy to recognize.

Although the steam rules were tricky, as long as they found Peace, and the mysterious Sir Sean behind him, there was nothing to worry about.

The two stood in front of Number 6 Bai She Avenue, relieved to see the Steam Council had not pursued them, and pushed the door open.

The door opened easily, but inside was pitch black, showing no traces of activity.

Before they could figure out what happened, a man with a gun stepped out of the shadows, shouting, "Who are you!"

Sword Star and Cold Mountain recognized the man; his name was Connor, the founder of the Bright Lamp Report, and they relied on monitoring the Bright Lamp Newspaper Office to complete the Steam Council’s test task.

Cold Mountain said, "Calm down, we are Mr. Peace’s companions, and we have important information to tell him. Can you inform him for us?"

Connor, still wary, replied, "Then you wait outside for now. Mr. Peace is not at the headquarters, as he has taken an action."

Cold Mountain felt a slight unease and continued to ask, "What about the others, like the Negotiation Master or Earth Puppet? If not, Divine Tongue would do too."

Hearing Cold Mountain skillfully mention the codenames of several Secret Magic Knights, Connor’s wariness eased, and he said:

"They’ve all gone out; I’m the only one here. You can come in and wait slowly."

Cold Mountain and Sword Star’s faces stiffened, and they turned to leave, saying, "The information is urgent; where have they gone? We’ll go find them."

Seeing the two’s anxiousness as genuine, Connor said:

"They should be in the Chick Manor District in the West District. You should be able to meet them there."

"Thank you!"

The two hurriedly left Number 6 Bai She Avenue. Upon returning to the street, they couldn’t help but frown.

They saw a thick mist rapidly moving towards Bai She Avenue from the direction they came.

The Steam Council’s speed was faster than they expected.

If the Steam Council’s target was significant facilities on Bai She Avenue and the Stilan Palace, heading to the West District now was too late.

They had to make use of the current conditions to stop the Steam Council first.

Cold Mountain glanced around and immediately locked onto the Police Hall next door.

The Steam rules pursuing them alarmed the Abyssal Game Players inside the Police Hall. Several of the top hundred combat power players were vigilant and left to check the situation.

To Cold Mountain’s surprise, the first to come out to check the information was Phantom.

Cold Mountain feigned indifference and approached Phantom with Sword Star, saying:

"This mist is strange; I sense danger from within."

Cold Mountain was the number one figure on the surface for the Management Bureau, and Phantom for the Evolution Committee. In significant activities of the Four Major Organizations, both would attend, so they were acquainted.

Phantom glanced at Cold Mountain, directly pointing out, "Is this your doing?"

Cold Mountain immediately denied it, saying, "How can you accuse me out of nowhere?"

Phantom let out a "heh," turned, and was about to return to the Police Hall.

Cold Mountain stopped Phantom, asking: "You gathered so many players here, is there any important figure inside?"

Phantom expressionlessly replied, "No comment."

Cold Mountain didn’t insist, only seemingly talking to himself:

"I heard a piece of information that a mysterious organization plans to target the big figures of Grimland. Their forces are strong; facing them alone, Sword Star and I have no chance."

"If we don’t unite, we’ll sooner or later be picked off one by one."

Phantom’s steps halted, annoyed, saying, "And you say it’s not your fault!"

Cold Mountain stubbornly denied, saying, "I am kindly sharing information with you."

Phantom’s eyes shifted rapidly, after a brief consideration asked, "Why come to me instead of seeking that Mr. Peace?"

Cold Mountain shrugged, saying, "I went next door to find him first, ended up finding that he had taken people out, hit a blank."

"Those left at the Secret Security Department said they would return soon; we just need to hold on for a while to wait for strong reinforcements."

Phantom took a deep breath, reluctantly saying, "Anyway, there’s no choice now; let’s do as you said."

As Cold Mountain and Phantom talked, the thick mist had already surrounded the entire Bai She Avenue. Trying to leave now was too late.

Under Phantom’s call, in just a dozen seconds, over a hundred Transcendents gathered at the entrance of the Police Hall, among them thirty or forty players.

Cold Mountain did not expect so many players here, and couldn’t help asking, "Why have you gathered so many people, what do you intend to do?"

Phantom didn’t want to bother with Cold Mountain, perfunctorily replying:

"Following the Industrialist Association investigation, we found traces of Peace Church activities behind it. Prime Minister Glad was worried the Conservative Party already sided with Peace Church to seize power, so several sides were summoned for a joint investigation."
