Xavier looked at Wu Chang’s intact chest, his face full of disbelief.

The dagger he held was not imbued with ordinary steam rules, but with Divine Power.

Divinity!

Even when facing a God, he could use that dagger to wound the deity, so why couldn’t it even pierce Wu Chang’s skin?

Xavier couldn’t comprehend it; he could only attribute it to Wu Chang using some other means, just like when they entered the Holy Land together. He came empty-handed, while Wu Chang brought the Lake Light Holy Sword.

He murmured, "Unfair, this duel is devoid of fairness and honor!"

Upon hearing this, Wu Chang was immediately displeased and said:

"Duels in the Holy Land are absolutely fair. When I told you the rules, you should have gained some insight."

"If you’re lacking, practice more. If you can’t afford to lose, don’t play. Failing a sneak attack and then crying about unfairness, when you’re infused with Divinity to deal with a mere mortal like me, did I ever say it was unfair?"

Xavier couldn’t argue with Wu Chang, but his intuition told him there was definitely something wrong with Wu Chang.

Seeing that Xavier was not planning to explain anything, Wu Chang decided to end the battle.

"Speak whatever you have to say with your grievance against me."

He raised the Lake Light Holy Sword in his hand and said:

"All my abilities come from my sweat and effort. When I fight others, I never blame fate or others. Observe carefully, this is the difference in tolerance and Will between us!"

As he spoke, the Holy Sword in Wu Chang’s hand glowed brilliantly, the sword blade erupting with Golden Light, and the Light Blade soared into the sky.

In the glorious duels within the Holy Land, all Talents, Active Skills, Cultivation Techniques, and Items are prohibited, but belief can be turned into a weapon.

What is belief?

Xavier, considering himself a Plane Son, carried the mission as belief, while Wu Chang’s Will on his Attribute Panel was also a belief.

Previously, in the engagement with Xavier, he only used the Lake Light Holy Sword’s physical form, without wielding his belief.

Now, it was time for his 257 points of Will to take action.

Xavier tilted his head back, looking at the gigantic Light Saber spanning over two hundred meters where the sword tip pierced the sky, and suddenly smiled with relief.

"To hell with fairness."

Wu Chang swung the massive Holy Sword in his hand, shouting:

"Magnificent Curry Stick!"

The enormous Light Saber cleaved down vertically, with the imposing presence to bisect the entire island, slicing vertically onto Xavier.

Xavier, with a steel body condensed by belief, was effortlessly divided in two under the colossal Light Saber.

Wu Chang wiped on his forehead with the back of his hand to remove non-existent sweat, and exhaled a breath of relief—it truly was a thrilling and satisfying duel.

The satisfaction of swinging the final sword was immense, but Xavier did not seem pleased with the outcome.

As he predicted, Xavier left behind a pool of resentment so intense it was black at the place he fell.

He sheathed the Lake Light Holy Sword and walked toward the resentment.

It was time to unveil the mystery.

He gazed intently at the resentment left by Xavier, from which a substantial amount of red steam gushed, enveloping Wu Chang.

When the steam dissipated, he had already possessed the childhood form of Xavier.

Xavier, born in a small town similar to White Stone Town, had parents who were the Lords of the town, who besides leasing out land, also ran a textile factory due to the territory being near a tributary of the Hills River.

He was a prodigy in the town from a young age, quick to grasp mathematics and physics. At five years old, the private tutor hired by his father was already struggling, drenched in sweat, under his questioning and had difficulty providing answers.

At seven, he claimed there was nothing more to teach Xavier, recommending him to study in the capital Grimgland and wrote a letter of recommendation for him.

Mathematics and physics were like puzzles to Xavier, where answers were evident at a glance. The sense of achievement from solving them was less satisfying than watching the private tutor flounder for books.

His true passion was mechanics.

The sound of collisions between gears and steam spewing from valves fascinated him.

No matter how complex the machinery, a few glances were all he needed to deconstruct its internal structure and understand its principles.

Thus, when he entered Grimgland for study, he chose to learn about mechanics.

Researching mechanics, without sponsorship, was an exceptionally costly endeavor.

To obtain enough wealth, he improved the existing looms in Stilan, doubling their work efficiency at least.

This invention earned him a fortune, making him a renowned figure in academia temporarily. However, he didn’t care about that; he just wanted to focus more on researching these massive constructs of steel.

Xavier was a devout Saint Bishop believer, believing everything was arranged by the Holy Master. He believed he was brought to the world with this Talent to fulfill some mission.

But what this mission actually was, he had yet to discover.

And so, time quickly passed until he reached the age of twenty.

Until one day, he heard of a peer who improved his loom design and went to inspect the factory using the new loom.

On that day, two remarkable events happened that left a lasting impression on him.

The first was that a guy named Mace, hailing from a worker family, indeed had great Talent; he was self-taught, never went to college, yet had a keen understanding of mechanics.

Although Mace appeared very inexperienced at that time, clumsy and nervous in social situations, often stammering when questioned by Xavier.

But Wu Chang still recognized this young novice would later transform into the Executioner, able to take the lives of hundreds of Transcendents with a poker face.
