Chapter 2260 - 2261: Qin Rumeng Is Coming
The Church’s secret techniques may be powerful, but it still depends on who’s using them. If it were Louis III, then there’d be a huge chance of trapping the Monarch.
But right now it’s not Louis III—it’s Michelle!
Michelle’s strength is nowhere near Louis III’s. After all, Michelle is merely the Church’s Saintess, while Louis III is the Church’s Sect Hierarch!
Just as the Monarch broke apart Michelle’s move, God’s Cage, Olivia in midair followed up and hacked down with a blade!
That single strike descended as if falling from the heavens themselves, and the whole sky echoed with a rolling thunderous boom.
Immediately, a gigantic blade edge came crashing down from the sky!
Seeing this, the Monarch let out a cold snort. "Break Demon!"
As the words fell, the long blade in the Monarch’s hand spun up, then slashed out in a blur!
In an instant, a silver-white blade light suddenly flared into existence in midair, ramming straight toward the arc Olivia had slashed down!
"Rumble..."
A piercing, muffled explosion rang out all around, like a bomb going off, stirring up a turbulent airflow in the sky that rippled outward. Huge swathes of air were instantly shattered, as if struck by some terrifying hurricane, the very space seeming about to be torn open by that dreadful current.
The next moment, before that airflow could fade, a razor-sharp blade wind once again descended from high above.
"Crash!"
The blade wind fell, like a river being sliced apart, its sound shrill to the extreme.
When the Monarch saw this scene, his pupils shrank tight in an instant, narrowing into the most dangerous needle-like points!
Then the Monarch’s long blade whipped out in a rapid arc, smashing heavily into it.
In that moment, no matter how fierce Olivia’s attacks were, the Monarch showed not the slightest thought of retreat, much less fear, meeting them head-on, completely unflinching.
While Olivia was clashing head-on with the Monarch, Michelle wasn’t idle either; she kept attacking the Monarch. Yet these strikes seemed to have no effect at all—every time they were shattered by a single swing of the Monarch’s blade!
Right now, Jue Tian didn’t move to strike. Instead, with a blur of motion he appeared directly in front of Ye Xunhuan. "You all right?"
"Not dead yet. But I can’t muster any Inner Strength at all." Ye Xunhuan’s face was slightly pale as he spoke to Jue Tian.
"I’ll help you." Jue Tian said heavily. "Sink your breath into your Dantian..."
"But right now I..."
"There are three Dantians. Don’t tell me you only know how to use one?" Jue Tian said coldly.
Hearing Jue Tian’s words, a spark of insight flashed across Ye Xunhuan’s mind.
In Huaxia Daoism it’s said the human body has three Dantians: between the brows is the Upper Dantian, below the heart is the Middle Dantian, below the navel is the Lower Dantian.
In Ge Hong’s "Bao Dizhen," the Dantian mentioned is generally the Lower Dantian, and in the "Huangting Outer View Scripture: Upper Section," when it speaks of breathing into the Dantian from the chest cottage, it too refers to the Lower Dantian!
But these Upper, Middle, and Lower three Dantians each have their own function: the Upper Dantian corresponds to the Governing Vessel, also called the Mud Pill Palace; the Middle Dantian lies at the Shanzhong acupoint in the chest, the place where Ancestral Qi gathers; while the Lower Dantian is the Conception Vessel’s Guanyuan point, three cun below the navel, the storehouse of essence!
Now Ye Xunhuan’s Lower Dantian had been destroyed by the enemy, leaving him unable to circulate qi. But Jue Tian wasn’t asking Ye Xunhuan to use the Lower Dantian—he wanted him to use the Middle Dantian, the place where Ancestral Qi gathers!
"I understand!" Ye Xunhuan said at once.
"Keep your mind unified!" Jue Tian said heavily. "Use He Luo’s wondrous all-encompassing nature to gather all of your recent qi in the Shanzhong point, then let it roam throughout your body, spreading into every meridian in every corner of you!"
"Apply the yin-yang of the Taiji Seal, treating your body as a vessel..."
As he spoke, Jue Tian’s hands suddenly filled with force and clapped down onto Ye Xunhuan’s back. At once a vast surge of energy poured into Ye Xunhuan’s body, making Ye Xunhuan feel as if his entire body were on fire, unbearably uncomfortable. In that instant, sweat slowly began to bead on Ye Xunhuan’s forehead!
Because the Monarch was now thoroughly pinned down by Olivia and Michelle, he had no way to concern himself with Ye Xunhuan, and could only let Jue Tian treat Ye Xunhuan’s injuries.
As for the Monarch’s other people—some were dead, and those who weren’t were now all fully entangled.
"Huff..."
A short while later, Jue Tian slowly withdrew his hands and exhaled a mouthful of pent-up breath, then fixed his gaze on Ye Xunhuan.
At this moment Ye Xunhuan’s face kept shifting; his brows sometimes knit together, sometimes smoothed out, as if he were undergoing the dual extremes of ice and fire.
Seeing this, a faint hint of appreciation slowly surfaced in Jue Tian’s eyes.
The next moment, Jue Tian turned his gaze toward the Monarch at the side and said coldly, "Monarch, it’s my turn next!"
As his words fell, Jue Tian no longer concerned himself with Ye Xunhuan. Gripping the demon blade Firefall, he shot toward the Monarch like a galloping horse, howling through the air.
In that instant, Jue Tian’s whole presence was like a rainbow, surging violently toward the Monarch.
In just a heartbeat, Jue Tian was already in front of the Monarch, Firefall in his hand hacking down toward him.
At the very instant Jue Tian’s Firefall slashed toward the Monarch, the long blade in the Monarch’s hand was already whistling down toward Jue Tian!
This made Jue Tian’s expression change, but he still didn’t back down in the slightest. His aura soaring like a long rainbow, he sent Firefall howling down toward the Monarch.
"Rumble..."
A massive muffled boom burst out all around, kicking up billows of dust. Then, from within that dust, a figure suddenly sprang forth, followed by a streaking leg shadow flashing through the air!
"Bang!"
The heavy impact resounded, and Jue Tian’s whole body flew backward like a kite with its string cut, crashing hard into the ground.
The next moment, a figure appeared beside the Monarch without the slightest warning.
It was an old man, clearly of seventy-plus years, his head of white hair like snow, yet his complexion was exceedingly rosy, giving him the air of a child-faced, crane-haired elder.
"Big Brother..."
"Qin Rumeng will be here any moment. Time’s short. Hurry up and clean them up, then take that thing from Qin Rumeng. As for Ye Xunhuan’s life—we can come claim it anytime." the old man said coldly.
"Understood."
"Jun Letian, you’re not dead..." Jue Tian stared at the old man before him, full of disbelief.
"Jue Tian, well? Isn’t my ninjutsu stronger than those little devils’? That kick wasn’t light, was it?"
"You..."
"Enough, we don’t have much time. Killing you will line up perfectly with Qin Rumeng’s arrival!"
