Chapter 2072 - 2045: Leaving
When he got to this point, Lu Tianxing paused. He hadn’t mentioned one reason: that Mr. Mu also hoped Mu Qingxue would marry Tang Qingyun, forget about him, start a new life, and let his image gradually fade from her memory.
Although this was what he thought, Lu Tianxing didn’t show anything on his face. Instead, he said, "But now, Mr. Mu clearly knows you came out to find me, yet he didn’t stop you. What does this mean? It means your grandpa doesn’t want you to marry Tang Qingyun, doesn’t want you to be unhappy your entire life, and I also don’t want you to marry Tang Qingyun..."
While Lu Tianxing and Mu Qingxue were talking inside the private room, outside the Jinxiu Restaurant, Bai Zhiqing and Lin Yafei were not like Mu Qingchuan, waiting in the car. Instead, they chose to stand beside the car door, looking at the dazzling lights in the distance with a hint of an indescribable, dreamy expression, lost in their thoughts.
Lin Yafei, looking at Bai Zhiqing, sighed slightly in her heart. She knew that Bai Zhiqing was definitely feeling uncomfortable. After all, her man was in a room with another woman, and this man and the woman had countless unclear, ambiguous ties. Even the most magnanimous woman would feel uncomfortable at such a moment.
"Zhiqing, are you okay!" Lin Yafei couldn’t help but ask as she looked at Bai Zhiqing’s appearance.
Hearing Lin Yafei’s voice, Bai Zhiqing slowly turned her head, glanced at Lin Yafei, and shook her head gently, saying, "Lin Demon, I’m fine."
As these words fell, Bai Zhiqing didn’t give Lin Yafei another chance to speak. She turned her head again, gazing quietly at the distant lights.
Lin Yafei sighed helplessly in her heart. She knew that Bai Zhiqing was certainly feeling uneasy but didn’t know how to comfort her. She understood Bai Zhiqing’s character very well; if Bai Zhiqing wasn’t willing to open her heart, no one could make her reveal her innermost thoughts.
...
Time ticked away slowly. After about ten minutes, Lu Tianxing and Mu Qingxue emerged from the Jinxiu Restaurant.
There weren’t any significant changes in Lu Tianxing’s expression, nor were there in Mu Qingxue’s. However, upon closer inspection, one could easily see that any hint of sadness had vanished from Mu Qingxue’s beautiful eyes, replaced by an unmistakable excitement. Even though Mu Qingxue tried her best to conceal it, one could easily feel the joyful aura emanating from her.
"Sister Zhiqing, Sister Yafei."
As soon as they exited the Jinxiu Restaurant, Mu Qingxue saw Bai Zhiqing and Lin Yafei standing not far away and greeted them.
"So, did you finish discussing?"
Upon hearing Mu Qingxue’s words, a faint smile appeared on Bai Zhiqing’s face, making it impossible for anyone to discern her true thoughts.
"It’s all done."
Mu Qingxue nodded lightly and said to Bai Zhiqing, "Sister Zhiqing, it’s getting late now. If there’s nothing else, I’ll head back first."
"Yeah, take care and be safe on the way."
Bai Zhiqing nodded.
Hearing this, Mu Qingxue didn’t say anything more. After greeting Lu Tianxing and Lin Yafei, she headed towards the car parked not far away.
Soon, Mu Qingchuan started the car and drove away from the Jinxiu Restaurant with Mu Qingxue.
Watching the direction in which Mu Qingxue departed, Bai Zhiqing sighed slightly once more and glanced at the approaching Lu Tianxing, feeling a mix of emotions.
"Wife, what’s wrong?" Lu Tianxing walked slowly to Bai Zhiqing’s side and asked softly as he looked at her.
"I’m fine."
Bai Zhiqing shook her head gently and said, "Tianxing, let’s go back!"
"Alright, I’ll go get the car. Please wait here for a moment while I go get the car."
Saying this, Lu Tianxing turned and walked to where his car was parked.
Meanwhile, inside the car, as Mu Qingchuan drove onto the road, he couldn’t help but ask Mu Qingxue, whose face bore an undeniable look of excitement, "Qingxue, what did Lu Tianxing say to you that made you so happy?"
Upon hearing Mu Qingchuan’s words, Mu Qingxue smiled sweetly and said, "Brother, guess."
"If I could guess, I wouldn’t be asking you."
Looking at Mu Qingxue’s mischievous expression, Mu Qingchuan responded with a hint of helplessness. However, in his heart, he couldn’t help but heave a sigh of relief. At least, after talking with Lu Tianxing, Mu Qingxue’s mood had improved greatly; his efforts tonight were worthwhile.
After seeing Mu Qingchuan’s expression, Mu Qingxue didn’t continue to tease and directly said to him, "Tianxing finally admitted he likes me, you know? He finally acknowledged my identity; I’m no longer just in unrequited love..."
Looking at Mu Qingxue’s face full of excitement and smiles, Mu Qingchuan couldn’t help but sigh deeply in his heart. Mu Qingxue was beautiful; numerous people considered her a goddess. Not to mention Mu Qingxue admitting she liked someone, even a casual smile from her would make any man lose track of where he was.
But now everything had turned upside down. For a man, the goddess in many people’s hearts, Mu Qingxue, admitted her identity, and the happiness was overwhelming. If this news got out, it would leave countless people dumbfounded, unwilling to believe it.
Despite these thoughts, Mu Qingchuan’s face didn’t show any of it. Instead, he had a relieved look. At least his sister’s persistence had finally paid off; the clouds had cleared to reveal the moon. She wouldn’t remain in silent unrequited love, guarding an unfruitful affection as before.
Sighing slightly again in his heart, Mu Qingchuan looked at Mu Qingxue and said with a smile, "Qingxue, congratulations on getting what you wanted."
Upon hearing Mu Qingchuan’s words, Mu Qingxue’s expression dimmed slightly. She sighed softly and said, "Brother, Tianxing has accepted it now, but Second Grandpa..."
At this point, Mu Qingxue didn’t continue speaking, but the dimness in her expression grew heavier. Although her grandpa and brother didn’t want her to marry into the Tang Family, her Second Grandpa, Mu Qingliu, hoped she would, and many in the Mu Family supported Second Grandpa. If she wanted to be with Lu Tianxing, she would face more challenges than she could see now; describing it as a path filled with thorns wouldn’t be an exaggeration.
