Chapter 117: Return to Yang City, the Thirty Million Arrives
The next day.
The sky was just beginning to brighten.
Lin Feng packed his things and quietly left the house.
He really didn’t want to face the reluctant gazes of He Yue and Lin Xiaoman when saying goodbye.
Lin Feng first drove to the hotel where Su Ruoxi was staying.
He picked up Su Ruoxi.
Since they were returning at the same time, they had bought tickets for the same flight, and their seats were even close to each other.
Lin Feng’s expression was unreadable.
But a smile never left Su Ruoxi’s face.
When Su Ruoxi had arrived in Xiang City, she had been feeling utterly wronged and desolate.
But now, as she left Xiang City, she was filled with joy, and she even had Lin Feng by her side.
It was hard for Su Ruoxi not to be happy.
"This break felt so short!"
Seeing the familiar signs of Yang City Airport again, Su Ruoxi remarked with a sigh and a smile.
In the past, holidays spent at home had been an absolute torment for Su Ruoxi.
She had to deal with her stepmother, Liu Yan.
Worse, she had to put up with Liu Yan’s constant shenanigans.
But this break had allowed Su Ruoxi to get away from all the drama at home.
It also made her realize for the first time that happy moments are always so fleeting.
Lin Feng smiled and gently pinched Su Ruoxi’s cheek. "We don’t have many classes this first week back!"
"If you round it up, doesn’t that basically mean we get another week of vacation?"
Hearing Lin Feng say that, Su Ruoxi suddenly realized he was right.
A university schedule wasn’t like high school, with a jam-packed timetable every day.
Looking at their class schedule, it was true that their class didn’t have many courses in the week after the National Day holiday.
"So, if you look at it that way..."
"We can have another holiday in Yang City that’s almost as long as the National Day break!"
A joyful smile spread across Su Ruoxi’s face.
Lin Feng smiled, nodded, and hailed a taxi to take Su Ruoxi directly to a hotel.
Neither Su Ruoxi nor Lin Feng wanted her to go back to her stepmother, Liu Yan.
There was no telling what kind of disgusting things Liu Yan might do.
To avoid ruining their good mood, wasn’t it just easier for her to stay in a hotel?
So, they both tacitly agreed that Su Ruoxi would stay at a hotel.
"You must be tired after the flight. Get some rest!"
Lin Feng helped Su Ruoxi with her suitcase, placing it inside the room.
Then, he turned and left.
Su Ruoxi now had time to rest at the hotel.
Lin Feng, on the other hand, had other business to attend to.
After all, the company Yang Qiniang was setting up was nearly ready.
The stage was set; all that was missing was the final piece.
For an investment company, that final piece was the investment capital.
Right now, Lin Feng had the fifty million in funds from Yang Tianming.
He also had a nine-million-yuan loan, secured against the new store in Xiang City, which was about to be disbursed.
And then there was the thirty million in investment funds from Aunt Tang, which Huizi was holding.
Adding up all the bits and pieces, Lin Feng wasn’t far off from the "small goal" of one hundred million.
But Lin Feng would never complain about having too little capital.
In fact, he planned to raise as much funding as possible.
Lin Feng had taken the morning flight back to Yang City.
And Huizi, who was holding a large amount of funds and contracts, had actually been on the same flight.
The only difference was that Lin Feng and Su Ruoxi were in first class.
Due to her own financial situation, Huizi had chosen to sit in economy.
After settling Su Ruoxi in, Lin Feng met Huizi at a coffee shop.
Even though Huizi had just been on a flight for several hours, she was still full of energy.
There wasn’t the slightest hint of fatigue on her face.
"You seem to be in good spirits. How are things with the loan and the funds?"
Lin Feng asked, taking a sip of his coffee.
Very professionally, Huizi took the relevant documents and contracts out of the briefcase she was carrying.
"Aunt Tang is very impressed with you, Mr. Lin. She speaks very highly of you."
"The thirty million in investment funds has already been deposited into the bank account..."
"And don’t worry about the bank loan; it’s already come through!"
Huizi methodically reported on each matter, one by one.
Lin Feng was very satisfied with Huizi’s professional competence.
After all, his initial judgment of her had not been wrong.
"This is the address of the investment company and the person in charge, Yang Qiniang. You can contact him."
Lin Feng directly handed a piece of paper with the address and Yang Qiniang’s contact information to Huizi.
Huizi nodded and put the paper away.
She then took her things and headed to the new company to report for duty.
Lin Feng was confident that Yang Qiniang would arrange everything for Huizi.
He had, after all, already told Yang Qiniang that a capable secretarial assistant would be coming to report for work.
It wasn’t until Huizi reported to the new company that Yang Qiniang found out Lin Feng was back.
"Brother Feng, that’s not cool! You came back without even giving me a heads-up!"
Yang Qiniang’s voice was a bit loud over the phone.
Lin Feng shook his head helplessly. "I just got here. Besides, even if I had told you, it’s not like you could have come to pick me up!"
"Of course I couldn’t! You have no idea how busy I was during this National Day holiday!"
Yang Qiniang began to vent his frustrations over the phone.
During the holiday, Yang Qiniang had to finalize all the details for the investment company.
This included all sorts of other matters, big and small.
Before he returned to Xiang City, Lin Feng had dumped all the other tasks related to the company onto Yang Qiniang.
From Lin Feng’s perspective, this was actually a way to train Yang Qiniang.
It would let him try his hand at handling and organizing things.
Judging by the results, Yang Qiniang had indeed been tempered by the experience!
The price, of course, was that he had been so busy his feet barely touched the ground.
He didn’t even have time to squeeze in any fun.
He was essentially working unpaid overtime every day.
Although his life had been this hectic and complicated, for someone like Yang Qiniang, it was actually a novel experience.
Moreover, Yang Qiniang was genuinely interested in seeing this investment company succeed.
Because his own interests were involved, he gritted his teeth and overcame every obstacle he encountered, no matter how difficult.
Sometimes, Yang Qiniang would even get home later than his father, Yang Tianming.
Yang Tianming had seen all the changes in his son during this period.
In fact, Yang Tianming had been quietly keeping an eye on his son’s affairs.
Seeing his once-immature son now growing up bit by bit, Yang Tianming was very gratified.
His estimation of Lin Feng rose even higher in his mind.
He even directly told his son, Yang Qiniang, that after their investment company was established, he should invite Lin Feng over for a meal at their home.
Yang Qiniang was working himself to the bone every day.
And yet, when he turned around, he found his father wanted to treat Lin Feng—the guy who’d been off enjoying his vacation—to dinner.
’It’s like I’m not even his real son,’ he thought.
That’s why he couldn’t hide the resentful, teeth-grinding tone in his voice when he called Lin Feng.
Lin Feng assumed Yang Qiniang’s heavy resentment came from having too much work lately.
"This person you found, are they reliable?"
"Not just anyone can be an assistant!"
Yang Qiniang was still a bit skeptical about Huizi, who had suddenly appeared at the company.
Speaking through his Bluetooth headset, Lin Feng said, "Don’t worry, there’s definitely no problem."
"Well, if you say she’s fine, I’ll get her settled in!"
