Chapter 105: Bank Business, Running into Aunt Tang
Before long,
Huizi arrived at the bank lobby, documents in hand.
When the bank’s lobby manager learned that Huizi was there to handle such a large loan application,
he immediately led her to the VIP room.
A dedicated manager was there to handle these types of loans.
Since Huizi was handling this on behalf of Lin Feng,
after she submitted the relevant documents,
Huizi had to wait for a while. The bank’s back-end system needed to verify the information.
Later on, Lin Feng would even need to come in person to finalize things.
After the manager investigated Lin Feng through the bank’s internal system,
he discovered that this Lin Feng had quite a lot of money in his bank accounts.
His personal credit was also excellent.
He had a strong capacity for savings and, consequently, a strong ability to make repayments.
This was precisely the type of customer the bank was most willing to lend to.
After all, someone like Lin Feng, with good credit and ample liquid assets,
would have a very strong repayment ability and was unlikely to have any delays.
"How much are you looking to borrow?"
The manager asked with a friendly smile, his attitude exceptionally pleasant.
Huizi recalled Lin Feng’s earlier instructions.
She said directly, "My boss wishes to borrow ninety percent, the maximum possible ratio!"
The manager nodded. "According to our internal credit rating system, Mr. Lin’s credit is excellent."
"It is indeed possible to borrow such a high percentage..."
"However, due to some new rules and regulations, we might require some more detailed paperwork!"
The manager said, a bit apologetically.
Huizi was very understanding.
After all, for a loan this large, some procedures were unavoidable.
When handling loan applications at a bank,
the most complicated part was providing all sorts of certificates and documents.
It was all tedious work.
’No wonder Lin Feng had me do it.’
’He probably wouldn’t want to run around for all these minor documents and proofs himself.’
Huizi was busy handling various procedures and proofs on her end.
The bank manager, meanwhile, wasn’t idle either.
An application for such a large amount naturally had to be submitted up the chain of command.
After all, getting approval from the higher-ups would take some time.
Huizi had to go to the Property Rights Center to get some proofs of title transfer.
While waiting for the documents to be stamped, she unexpectedly spotted a familiar figure.
It was none other than Aunt Tang, the original owner of the storefront.
Aunt Tang also seemed to be waiting for the staff to process some paperwork.
Just as Huizi was hesitating whether to go over and say hello, Aunt Tang turned her head and saw her.
"Miss Huizi, what a coincidence! Are you here for paperwork too?"
Aunt Tang said with a smile.
Huizi walked over and sat down next to Aunt Tang. "That’s right. I need to get some documents stamped here!"
"It seems your skills are quite impressive, Miss Huizi. Have you closed another deal?"
Since they were at the Property Rights Center, Aunt Tang assumed Huizi was handling the paperwork for another property.
But to her surprise, Huizi paused for a moment before shaking her head with a smile.
"Auntie, I’ve already resigned from my old company. I’m not in real estate anymore!"
Aunt Tang was taken aback. She hadn’t expected Huizi to have quit her job.
"Oh, I see. Are you handling paperwork for yourself then?"
Aunt Tang asked with a smile.
But when she glanced down, she saw a familiar name.
"Isn’t this the property I sold to Mr. Lin?"
"Is there still some paperwork that wasn’t finalized?"
Aunt Tang was puzzled.
Logically speaking, she had already completed all the relevant handover procedures.
’How could Huizi be here with these documents to handle more paperwork?’
Huizi noticed Aunt Tang’s confusion.
She hesitated for a moment before explaining, "It’s not for the previous procedures."
"Mr. Lin plans to use this storefront to secure a loan."
Hearing Huizi’s explanation, Aunt Tang was stunned. "A loan? Didn’t he say he was going to use this storefront to run a business?"
But Aunt Tang was, after all, a woman with a keen eye.
She quickly thought of a possibility.
"Could it be that Mr. Lin plans to use the money for an investment?"
Aunt Tang had seen many such cases around her.
Using real estate as collateral to get money from the bank for investments.
Lin Feng wasn’t the only one who operated this way.
In a way, this method could even reduce risk.
Huizi hadn’t expected Aunt Tang to be so sharp; she had guessed Lin Feng’s purpose right away.
Huizi herself had only found out that Lin Feng intended to use the money for investments while collecting the subsequent documents.
"That’s right."
"Mr. Lin has an investment company that he started with a friend."
"The return on investment is quite good, so Mr. Lin decided to invest another sum!"
Aunt Tang had a moment of realization.
"So, Mr. Lin has his own investment company?"
The process of waiting in line for paperwork was rather dull anyway.
So, Aunt Tang decided she might as well chat with Huizi.
Furthermore, Aunt Tang had recently been busy with investment matters of her own.
So when she heard that Lin Feng was also planning to mortgage real estate for an investment, her interest was immediately piqued.
"I wonder what area Mr. Lin invests in?"
Aunt Tang was, in fact, probing for information.
Although Huizi wasn’t technically Lin Feng’s employee,
she was still very professional.
She just laughed it off, revealing nothing.
"It’s just some things in the stock market. I can only say the returns are good."
Aunt Tang knew Huizi was tight-lipped and she wouldn’t get anything out of her.
She seamlessly changed the subject.
’Since she’s not willing to talk, why should I keep asking?’
However, Aunt Tang had been feeling mentally and physically exhausted lately because of her own investment troubles.
The current market was complex and volatile.
It was no longer the market she was once familiar with.
So, Aunt Tang had recently been pondering that if she really didn’t know what to invest in,
it might be better to just choose a decent investment firm.
After all, they were professionals who could fully understand the market and make informed judgments.
This was precisely why Aunt Tang had been so sensitive upon hearing that Lin Feng also had an investment company.
Besides, in Aunt Tang’s view,
the fact that Lin Feng was willing to mortgage a house he had just bought
showed that he had great confidence in his own company’s capabilities.
A thousand thoughts raced through Aunt Tang’s mind.
But it was just a fleeting thought.
As for whether she would actually go and talk to Lin Feng,
Aunt Tang hadn’t made up her mind.
Huizi had only exchanged a few more words with Aunt Tang when she saw that the paperwork was ready.
"Auntie, I’m in a bit of a rush right now. Let’s chat again when we have time!"
After finishing the procedure, Huizi didn’t want to waste any more time. She exchanged a few pleasantries with Aunt Tang and left immediately.
