Becoming a Billionaire From Awakening a System

Chapter 52: Dispute in the Auditorium, the Battle for Seats

Sponsored

7:30 PM.

The freshman welcome party was about to start on time.

If they headed over now, they could make it just in time.

The welcome party at Yang City University was a relatively high-class affair.

After all, it was a key university, so the standards couldn’t be low.

The venue was the school auditorium.

It was large enough to hold over two thousand people.

Yang City University often invited successful entrepreneurs and the like to give lectures, so the school auditorium had been built to be very large.

It was certainly big enough to accommodate all the students who wanted to see the welcome party.

However, the large auditorium had one problem.

Some seats were good, and some were bad.

The front-row seats directly facing the stage were undoubtedly the best.

The viewing experience from the side sections was much worse.

For this very reason, many freshman classes had gathered their students early to go and save seats.

Lin Feng’s class was no different.

While they were eating earlier, Lin Feng had seen Song Yaqi send a message in the class group chat.

She told everyone to gather on the athletic field and head over early.

But Lin Feng and his friends were in the middle of dinner at the time, so they didn’t pay much attention.

Now, seeing how crowded the venue was, he couldn’t be bothered to look for their class.

He just found a random spot and sat down.

The seats were a bit off to the side, but they could still see the stage well enough.

Lin Feng told Su Ruoxi and the others to sit for a bit while he and Yang Qiniang went out to buy water.

"Brother Feng, what should I do now?"

Yang Qiniang sat on Lin Feng’s other side, staring at the single rose in his hand.

He wore a wry smile.

"Go give it to her. Doesn’t a single rose represent wholehearted devotion?"

"It’s a nice gesture."

Lin Feng said with a smile.

"Well... I told that upperclassman I was from a rich family, and that’s the only reason she agreed to give me a chance."

"But this... this doesn’t fit my image as a rich kid."

Yang Qiniang’s words gave Lin Feng pause.

"She only agreed to give you a chance because you’re rich?"

Lin Feng frowned slightly.

"And you still want to go after someone like that?"

It wasn’t that Lin Feng looked down on gold-diggers.

There was nothing wrong with a woman being pragmatic.

But Yang Qiniang’s situation was a bit too...

’Alright then!’

Lin Feng didn’t know what to say.

Who Yang Qiniang chose to like was his own business.

There was no need for Lin Feng to meddle.

"It’s not really that I like her."

"I’m just not ready to give up."

Yang Qiniang offered a brief explanation to Lin Feng.

Rich kids, you know.

Even if they didn’t have any bad habits, sometimes, they couldn’t help but be a little competitive.

He had been rejected so harshly before.

Yang Qiniang was probably stewing over it.

"Alright."

"It’s just a girl rejecting you. It’s not a big deal."

Lin Feng clapped Yang Qiniang on the shoulder, then took out his phone to pay for their water.

"If you give her this rose, and she accepts it without saying anything out of line..."

"...you can still give it a try."

"But if she doesn’t accept it, you know what I mean."

Yang Qiniang looked down at the flower in his hand.

He seemed to have come to an understanding.

He followed Lin Feng back toward the auditorium.

As more people arrived, the whole auditorium became excessively noisy.

Just then, the phone in Lin Feng’s pocket rang.

He took it out and saw it was a call from Song Yaqi.

"Hello, Secretary. What’s wrong?"

The other end of the line was noisy.

Song Yaqi was also in the auditorium.

"Lin Feng... where are you?"

"Come quick... there’s an argument..."

It was too loud on Song Yaqi’s end.

Lin Feng couldn’t hear her clearly at all.

He only managed to catch a few words.

But those few words were enough to make Lin Feng’s brow furrow.

"Brother Feng, what’s wrong?"

Yang Qiniang asked, seeing his expression.

"Song Yaqi and the others are in an argument."

Lin Feng scanned the surroundings with a slight frown.

An auditorium that could hold two thousand people.

It was huge.

At a glance, Lin Feng couldn’t spot any signs of a conflict.

"There!"

Yang Qiniang suddenly pointed somewhere.

Following the direction Yang Qiniang pointed, Lin Feng noticed it too.

In the central section.

It was a pretty good spot.

From there, at least, you could get a clear view of the stage.

Right now, however, a few dozen people were gathered together, apparently in some kind of dispute.

"Let’s go check it out."

Lin Feng said.

He headed down the aisle toward them.

Although he didn’t know what had happened, Song Yaqi was still his classmate.

They weren’t close, but they had known each other for almost a month.

"Okay."

Yang Qiniang didn’t object.

He felt the same way as Lin Feng.

Although their paths would diverge greatly from their classmates’ after graduation, for now, at least, they were all classmates.

As they got closer, Lin Feng realized the situation seemed much more serious than he had imagined.

Two groups of people were arguing heatedly.

A few hot-tempered individuals even looked like they were about to start a physical fight.

But what puzzled Lin Feng was that most of the people from his class were standing in front of their seats.

Meanwhile, the group of strangers were mostly standing in the aisle.

From the looks of it, they were also freshmen.

On his class’s side, Song Yaqi was leading the argument.

The opposing side was led by two male students.

However, with Jiang Chao, Cao Ming, and a few other guys by her side, Song Yaqi wasn’t at a disadvantage.

"We were clearly here first! Why should we have to move?"

Song Yaqi’s voice carried over.

It was followed by the voices of Jiang Chao and the others.

"If you wanted seats, you should have come earlier!"

"We got here an hour ago! You were late, so you can find your own seats!"

"Trying to steal someone else’s seats just because you can’t find any? That’s hilarious!"

At the same time, the group on the other side was talking back.

And their attitude was clearly much more aggressive than Song Yaqi’s group.

"We reserved this section with the student union a long time ago."

"You’re the ones who stole our seats!"

"Hurry up and give us our seats back, or I’m going to get the student union!"

"We’ll see what you do when your class advisor gets involved!"

Lin Feng and Yang Qiniang walked down the tiered steps.

When Jiang Chao and the others saw the two of them approaching, someone shouted, "Brother Feng is here."

This caused quite a few people to turn and look.

Song Yaqi visibly relaxed when she saw Lin Feng arrive.

"Lin Feng, you’re here."

Song Yaqi said, nodding at him.

"Yeah."

Lin Feng acknowledged.

Then he turned to the group opposite them, his brow slightly furrowed.

"What’s going on?"

"Why is everyone arguing?"

Song Yaqi explained with a helpless expression, "We came early and saved these seats."

"But after these people showed up, they claimed we stole seats they had reserved."

"They’re insisting that we move somewhere else."

"It’s so late now, where else are we supposed to go?"

Lin Feng scanned the area.

The party was about to start, and there weren’t many empty seats left.

Even if there were some, they were just single seats scattered here and there.

Finding another large block of empty seats was clearly impossible.

The spot Song Yaqi and her classmates had chosen was quite good.

That was probably the very reason the other group was trying to take their seats.

’But is it really that simple?’

"You reserved this section?"

Lin Feng turned to the group opposite them.

Faced with Lin Feng’s sudden intervention, the other group didn’t have a good attitude either.

"Who the hell are you?"

"That’s right, we reserved this spot."

"You stole our reserved seats, so hurry up and move!"

"Otherwise, if this blows up and the student union gets involved, it won’t be so simple for you."

There were over twenty people in the opposing group.

Both men and women.

But the women were in the minority.

Hearing this, Jiang Chao and the others started to lose their tempers as well.

The two sides went back and forth.

The scene was utter chaos.
