"You little brat!"

"When did you get back?"

"And why didn’t you open the door when I knocked?"

Lin Feng carried both suitcases inside.

He said with a sigh, looking at his sister, Lin Xiaoman, sitting on the sofa.

"I got in yesterday."

"I knew it was you knocking. Mom and Dad wouldn’t be back at this hour."

"We’re family, why be so formal?"

Lin Xiaoman glanced back at Lin Feng from the sofa.

She smiled as she spoke, then brushed her long bangs back from her forehead.

Lin Xiaoman was Lin Feng’s twin sister.

She had been born a few minutes after him.

So, she was stuck being the younger sister.

But even though the siblings were twins,

they looked very different.

Lin Feng’s Appearance was just an 80, at best.

But Lin Xiaoman’s Appearance was definitely pushing 90.

In Lin Feng’s eyes, however,

Lin Xiaoman was just the same little brat who wouldn’t think twice about picking her feet right in front of him.

"If you’re going to be like that, then I might just keep your gift."

Lin Feng wasn’t angry.

He started pulling the two suitcases toward his room.

Lin Feng’s family lived in a two-bedroom apartment.

When they were little, Lin Feng and Lin Xiaoman shared a bunk bed.

But as they got older, their parents cleared out a small, partitioned-off space for one of them.

The rooms were a bit small,

but at least the siblings now had their own spaces.

The only problem was the poor soundproofing between them.

It was just a sheet of plywood separating the two rooms.

Naturally, it didn’t block much noise.

"Hey, don’t do that!"

Hearing Lin Feng’s words,

Lin Xiaoman, who had been sitting cross-legged on the sofa showing off her long legs, immediately sprang up.

She shuffled over in her slippers and tried to grab the suitcases from Lin Feng.

"My big brother finally made it home. How could your little sister not help out?"

"Hehe."

"Leave it to me. Bro, you go rest on the sofa."

When Lin Feng had walked in, he was carrying two suitcases.

’The gifts have to be in here, no doubt about it.’

’So all I have to do is grab the suitcases.’

Lin Feng didn’t refuse.

He handed one of the suitcases to Lin Xiaoman.

"This one’s for you."

"This other one has gifts for Mom and Dad, so don’t open it."

He had always intended to give it to her.

Even though Lin Xiaoman had been rather dismissive at first,

Lin Feng was used to it.

If Lin Xiaoman had actually greeted him with enthusiasm,

he would have found it weird.

Lin Xiaoman had grown up with Lin Feng.

They had been together from elementary school all the way through high school.

They knew each other’s personalities like the back of their own hands.

Lin Xiaoman knew Lin Feng wouldn’t get truly angry.

And Lin Feng didn’t mind her behavior.

Ignoring him, Lin Xiaoman dragged the suitcase into Lin Feng’s room.

"You were at military training for so long. How are you not tanned?"

Lin Feng said, a little surprised as he looked at Lin Xiaoman’s fair face and her equally fair, long legs.

"Of course."

A smile played on Lin Xiaoman’s face.

"As long as I keep myself covered up, the sun can’t catch me."

Lin Xiaoman couldn’t wait. She placed the suitcase Lin Feng had given her on the floor and was about to open it.

But Lin Feng plopped right down on top of it.

"Hold on."

"Hold on for what? Get up! You’ll crush my presents."

Before Lin Feng could say anything else, Lin Xiaoman started trying to push him off.

But Lin Feng sat firmly on it,

refusing to let her open the suitcase.

"Come on. Your big brother has been traveling for hours."

"I haven’t even eaten yet, and you’re not even going to ask how I am?"

’I know she’ll just ignore me once she gets her hands on the gifts.’

’So I should get something out of this deal before I hand them over.’

"’Big brother’ this, ’big brother’ that."

"You’re only older than me by a few minutes."

Lin Xiaoman said, looking at Lin Feng with exasperation.

"A few minutes older is still older! I’m your big brother!"

"So are you making me dinner or not?"

Lin Feng remained planted on the suitcase.

He gave Lin Xiaoman no chance to open it.

"You’re tricking me, aren’t you?"

"Is the suitcase actually empty?"

Lin Xiaoman looked at Lin Feng suspiciously.

It wouldn’t be the first time Lin Feng had pulled a stunt like this.

"Believe what you want."

"But if I don’t get a meal cooked by you today, you’re not seeing any gifts."

Lin Xiaoman was skeptical.

Lin Feng didn’t bother to argue.

He just shrugged, remaining seated on the suitcase.

Seeing that Lin Feng had no intention of moving,

Lin Xiaoman opened her mouth to say something, but ultimately held her tongue.

"I’m telling you, Lin Feng, if you dare trick me, I’m telling Mom and Dad!"

In the end, Lin Xiaoman couldn’t out-stubborn Lin Feng.

She turned and stormed out.

After Lin Xiaoman left, Lin Feng got up and closed the door.

Then he sent a message to Su Ruoxi, telling her he was home.

After a few minutes, Su Ruoxi hadn’t replied.

’She probably hasn’t seen it yet.’

Lin Feng didn’t open the suitcase.

He’d said they were gifts for Lin Xiaoman,

so it was better for her to open it herself.

Through the door, Lin Feng could hear what sounded like Lin Xiaoman smashing pots and pans in the kitchen.

Clearly, she was cooking with some attitude.

In truth, both Lin Feng and Lin Xiaoman knew how to cook a little.

After all, their parents were both professional Hunan cuisine chefs.

They could at least manage a few simple home-cooked dishes.

But the question now was...

’Will Lin Xiaoman actually make me a decent meal?’

Lin Feng quietly opened the door and stepped out of his room.

He saw Lin Xiaoman’s back in the kitchen.

’Is she actually taking this seriously?’

To be honest, Lin Feng was a bit surprised.

’Did one month of college change her personality?’

Still, seeing Lin Xiaoman like this,

Lin Feng felt quite pleased.

But then, Lin Feng saw Lin Xiaoman grab a huge handful of Sichuan peppercorns and toss them into the wok.

Hunan cuisine was supposed to be numbing and spicy.

Numbing first, then spicy—that was the essence of Hunan food.

But that handful of peppercorns...

"Lin Xiaoman!"

Lin Feng finally couldn’t take it anymore.

Startled by Lin Feng’s shout, Lin Xiaoman flinched.

Her whole body shuddered.

She turned to look at him.

Her eyes met Lin Feng’s.

"Bro... what are you doing here?"

"Go wait for a bit. Dinner will be ready soon."

Perhaps because she’d been caught in the act,

Lin Xiaoman looked a little embarrassed.

"What are you doing?"

Lin Feng walked over, exasperated.

"Cooking. You should get out, or you’ll cramp my style."

Seeing Lin Feng approach,

Lin Xiaoman quickly reached out to push him away.

But how could Lin Feng possibly leave?

’If I leave now,’

’I’ll probably die of poisoning later.’

He looked at the chili peppers and Sichuan peppercorns sizzling in the wok.

Next to it sat a washed potato.

Lin Feng could only roll up his sleeves.

"Alright, you can go."

"I knew I couldn’t count on you."

Hearing Lin Feng’s words,

Lin Xiaoman gave an embarrassed little laugh.

After all, getting caught red-handed by your victim

was a rather awkward situation.

"The gift is in the suitcase. Don’t bother me."

Lin Feng ignored Lin Xiaoman.

He scooped out half of the chilies and peppercorns from the wok.

Then he sliced the potato and tossed it in.

Seeing that Lin Feng wasn’t letting her cook,

Lin Xiaoman didn’t insist.

She turned and left the kitchen,

heading for Lin Feng’s room.

Compared to cooking, Lin Xiaoman was far more interested in her gift.
