Chapter 308 - Continuing!
After a moment, Feng’s voice came through.
’’Of course, contractor,’’ he replied calmly. ’’Summon me whenever.’’
’’I can easily carry a bunch of people while granting speed to another two beasts.’’
Theo smiled faintly before nodding once.
Around him, however, everyone else had started talking over each other.
’’An hour isn’t enough,’’ one of the Dragonfang members muttered.
’’Then what? We stay here and wait for it?’’
’’We could still try.’’
’’With half of us exhausted?’’
Darius clicked his tongue while shaking his head.
’’Fuck,’’ he muttered. ’’To think we’re like this just from traveling...’’
Even Gabriel had fallen silent, seemingly unable to come up with an answer.
Theo listened for several seconds before clearing his throat.
’’I might have a way.’’
Everyone turned towards him right away.
Gabriel saw everyone turning to Theo and couldn’t help but grit his teeth.
’’Of course you do,’’ he muttered beneath his breath.
Meanwhile, Darius took a step towards Theo.
’’What’s your plan?’’ he asked seriously.
Theo didn’t hesitate to make up a half-truth, half-lie answer.
’’I recently broke through and got the summoning element,’’ he replied. ’’Though I only have one summon, it’s really fast and pretty big.’’
For a moment, nobody said anything.
Many had seen Theo use three elements already... yet, he now had another?
It was almost unbelievable.
Lucienne especially couldn’t believe her ears.
’Even with all the support I’ve been getting,’ she thought slowly. ’He still managed to break through before me?’
She quickly shook her head.
That wasn’t even the most important thing.
’He awakened... another affinity?’
After another few seconds of disbelief, a large, sweet smile appeared on her face.
’I knew it,’ she thought, her eyes remaining on Theo. ’I knew I chose the right man.’
With a smile, Lucienne began walking towards him.
Only, Gabriel noticed immediately.
His eyes shifted from Theo to Lucienne, watching as she casually moved through the group until she stopped beside him.
’Again...’ he thought, his jaw tightening. ’She’s going to that weakling again!’
Theo noticed none of this though.
Instead, he glanced over at the still-sulking Owen and nodded once.
’’We’re going to need yours too,’’ he said calmly.
Owen snapped out of his thoughts and glanced up, slightly confused.
’’Mine?’’ he asked, pointing at himself. ’’But I don’t have the summoning element...’’
’’Cut the bullshit,’’ Theo interrupted instantly. ’’Feng can only carry so many of us. But he’ll be able to increase the speed of yours as well.’’
Owen stared at him for a moment.
Then he let out a soft sigh.
’’Fine, fine,’’ he said, waving his hand in resignation. ’’We’ll do as you said.’’
Before anyone could react, a huge pale-green swirling mass opened up beside Owen.
ROAARRRR!!!
A loud roar immediately echoed from within.
Several people instinctively took a step back, feeling a faint pressure descend upon them.
’’What the hell?’’ Darius muttered quietly.
A massive skeletal skull made of deep obsidian bones slowly emerged from within.
Four large horns extended from its head, while pale-green flames flickered inside its empty eye sockets and burned like a crown around its skull.
Eyes widened all around as everyone took a step back.
The massive skull continued moving forward as the rest of the creature slowly emerged from the portal.
First came its long skeletal neck, followed by a massive ribcage and two large legs.
Finally, two huge bone wings pulled themselves through, green flames already lit between each bone.
THUD!
It slammed down into the sand.
As the swirling mass closed behind the skeletal dragon, it opened its mouth once more.
ROAAARRRR!!!
No one uttered a word.
Their eyes had only grown wider while their faces had become pale.
’’There,’’ Owen said, crossing his arms. ’’Happy?’’
Theo nodded once.
’’Very,’’ he replied.
Before anyone could recover, he too raised his hand.
Within seconds, a large emerald-green swirling mass appeared beside him.
WHOOOOSH!
Violent winds began sweeping across the sand.
Theo’s clothes fluttered wildly around him as a gigantic white hoof stepped through the portal.
Within seconds, a huge, pure-white unicorn stepped completely through, its two massive wings already spreading wide beside him.
Everyone stared up at it in disbelief.
Even Theo couldn’t help but take another look.
’You can grow that big?’ he asked internally.
’’Naturally,’’ Feng replied casually. ’’I do not need to focus on attacks or defense, thus I’ve optimized my body for speed and size.’’
For a moment, silence fell between them.
Finally, Theo just shook his head and turned to Nadia.
’’Will this work?’’ he asked.
Nadia finally snapped out of her daze.
Her eyes quickly moved between Feng and the enormous bone dragon.
’’If... if they’re fast enough... yes.’’
Theo nodded once.
’’Good,’’ he said, gesturing to the beasts. ’’Everyone, get on.’’
After another few seconds, everyone finally started moving.
Theo glanced towards Darius and the rest of the Dragonfang group.
’’You guys come with us,’’ he said before turning towards his own group. ’’Same for you.’’
Owen immediately understood what that meant.
His gaze slowly shifted towards the remaining Imperial Church members.
’’Seriously?’’ he muttered. ’’I get these wastes of air?’’
Theo ignored him and climbed onto Feng’s back.
’’Come on! We don’t have time to waste!’’
Darius immediately followed, helping one of his exhausted teammates up with him.
Jim, Iris, and Lyra climbed on right after.
Lucienne didn’t hesitate either.
She jumped onto Feng’s back and casually sat down behind Theo.
Gabriel’s jaw clenched immediately.
’That fucking bastar—’
But before he could even get angry, Owen’s loud voice rang out behind him.
’’Well?’’ he shouted. ’’You gonna move or you wanna walk?’’
Gabriel slowly turned around.
Owen was already sitting on top of the bone dragon’s neck, staring down at him impatiently.
Several Church members had already walked past him and were now climbing onto the huge bone dragon.
Gabriel’s expression darkened even further.
But in the end, he simply gritted his teeth and followed.
’’Oh, one more thing,’’ Owen casually said as Gabriel began climbing up. ’’You do something that annoys me, I’m tossing you off.’’
Gabriel’s expression twisted.
’’You—’’
’’Enough!’’ Nadia interrupted, still on the ground below. ’’We need to leave!’’
Gritting his teeth, Gabriel said nothing more as he climbed onto the bone dragon.
Finally, Nadia climbed up too, settling just behind Owen.
’’Everyone’s on!’’ she immediately shouted.
Hearing that, Theo turned around and grabbed onto Feng’s mane.
’You heard that?’ he said internally. ’It’s time to go!’
