Beneath the Red Dragon

The adult Silver Dragon Flo took pride in its formidable Spiritual Power, which is also why the Silver Dragon clan produced many powerful Casters.

Yet, in the face of the Ancestral Red Dragon, the Silver Dragon Flo couldn’t sense even a hint of anything belonging to the body from the other side, be it Spirit, aura, or the overwhelmingly intense blood energy inherent to the Giant Dragon clan.

In other words, what the Ancestral Red Dragon wished the Silver Dragon Flo to see was all that Flo could observe; if Flo was not meant to see, it barely perceived the other’s essential true form existing in the Material World.

"How vast exactly is the difference between him and me? Tens of times more in Spiritual Power Level? Or unimaginably more?"

The Silver Dragon Flo speculated on the other’s strength, when suddenly a chill rose from the spine of the Cold-Element Giant Dragon, for it had just noticed the scales on the Ancestral Red Dragon’s body surface moving as if they had a will of their own.

Not only were the Ancestral Red Dragon’s scales exhibiting this, but also the robust Dragon Hide beneath the scales, and the muscles, were pulsing with a rhythmic movement; in just the blink of an eye, the Red Dragon’s skin shifted from red to green, blue, purple, white, and copper colors.

"Had I previously ignored these signs, or was it that my cognition was overshadowed and hidden due to the influence of the other’s Spirit, causing me to fail to see the other’s actions?"

The scales on the back of the adult Silver Dragon bristled at that moment.

Karon paid no heed to the speculations of the adult Silver Dragon Flo, even though, with his current ability, he could easily detect the thoughts of this Silver Dragon who had been frightened by him.

He gazed at the dimly lit Royal Capital beneath the mountain, entering a mode of observation of his own volition.

Now within the Dragon Group Territory, the primitive methods of lighting with torches and fire oil had long been abandoned, yet it had not stepped into the so-called electric age.

Even if Karon had the ability to guide his own Imperial, he never believed that the greatness of another world’s civilization could surpass the brilliance of this world’s civilization.

Thus, the brilliance of this world’s civilization shone within the Golden Empire.

The Nobility and Mages who possessed advanced productivity and hoarded their Magic Knowledge have long developed magical crystal lamps capable of emitting the brightest glow on the darkest nights.

However, because they were niche and expensive, it was neither possible nor necessary to promote them to ordinary people.

Scholars of the Golden Empire, however, studied and innovated based on the Magic Crystal Lamp to develop a cheaper alternative, although their approach was vastly different from that of the Magic Crystal Lamp.

The Magic Crystal Lamp emitted brilliance through the energy infusion of Magic Power.

In contrast, scholars of the Golden Empire conducted research and breakthroughs in Magic Materials Science, eventually synthesizing the Moonlight Thread, which reacted to Magic Power after years of combinatorial research.

This synthesized material could highly sensitively react to the Magic Power contained in the air, theoretically glowing forever as long as Magic Power existed; these Moonlight Threads served as filaments for the Moonlight.

Additionally, this Moonlight merely consumed the Moonlight Thread as filaments and did not use any Magic Power. The two exotic minerals used as synthetic materials were very common on the continent of Aikania, which allowed it to be rapidly popularized across the entire Empire.

Named "Moonlight," the light it emitted was not as bright as the Magic Crystal Lamp, yet it was like the gentle moonlight at full moon, soft and hazy, yet clearly visible.

Every time night falls, the sun sets, whether or not the Empire is obscured by clouds concealing the moonlight, it would be shrouded and covered by moonlight, like a hazy veil.

Hence, the Golden Empire, in the eyes of outsiders, is also known as the "Sun and Moon Never Fall Country" and the "Land of Eternal Sun and Moon."

In the eyes of others, night in the Golden Empire seems like a gentle, serene kingdom under the moonlight, created by the Giant God.

Yet, the gradual transformation behind the exterior of the Empire and the evolution of its system and social civilization evoke thoughts of association in Karon’s mind.

Even within the absolute autocratic rule of the Dragon Group in the Golden Empire, there were still officials who would take immense risks to exercise illegitimate power, even though they already possessed power stronger than ordinary people, even privileges.

They openly committed corruption and colluded with foreign countries, even though they already enjoyed absolutely superior treatment and more wealth and interests than ordinary people, they still seek to seize more improper interests and wealth.

It seems that the nature of all beings is universally immutable across the ages, and no system or policy doctrine seems to matter.

"What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun," whether humans or other living creatures.

Unless the entire Empire could pursue a path of progress, with rising intelligence, emotionalism would gradually diminish, becoming more rational.

As a reflection of the beast instinct, emotionalism would also be curbed, extraneous desires reduced.

Ultimately, living beings would evolve towards Divinity, where then beings would exist in an absolutely rational state, having no instincts; offspring would no longer matter, interest and class naturally would not weigh as important.

But such a notion is forever unachievable, losing humanity equates to losing the innate ability for joy and sorrow; not only does Karon not wish for this, but there are only a few among all beings who could achieve this.

Unless there is an absolute authority, an immortal and original-intention-keeping will, to control the Empire’s order, unify the world’s order, and guide it forward.
