Chapter 2441 - 2433: True Sage’s Concerns
The Insect Race of the Sixth Planet discovered that the Human Race had a new invisibility device and reported it.
However, that was all they could do, as within the next three hours, the four major barracks of the Insect Race were breached.
The four major barracks were the guardians of the Temple, but the Insect Race Nascent Soul guarding the temple did not go to aid, deciding to stubbornly defend the temple.
But the Human Race Army did not attack the temple either; instead, they left after annihilating the Insect Race.
Within the temple, besides the Insect Race Nascent Soul, there were some Golden Core, Dust-Cleanse, and even Qi Refinement Realm Insects. They thought the temple couldn’t be preserved either and swore to coexist and perish with it, only to find out... the Human Race actually retreated?
A Dust-Cleanse Insect was curious, wanting to rush out and explore. As soon as it stepped out of the temple area, it was sniped directly.
At this point, the Insects didn’t dare to step out of the temple and could only hide inside, inquiring about the situation on other planets.
Things weren’t good on other planets either. After killing the Insect Race of the Sixth Planet, the Tianqin Cultivators didn’t hesitate at all and directly moved to the First Planet—the only planet with some combat strength left in the Folding Ruler Star System.
However, the combat strength on First Planet was similar to that on Sixth Planet. When the Human Race Army began attacking the Insect Race barracks, within less than ten minutes of the siege, the Insect Race barracks exploded, with over a hundred Insect Race Nascent Souls and Golden Core fleeing away.
It wasn’t surprising they feared for their lives; they had clearly seen the fate of the Sixth Planet’s Insect Race: escaping might not mean death, but not escaping definitely meant death.
But by this point, was there still time to escape? The Human Race Cultivators were now fighting with overwhelming numbers.
As the Insect Race began to flee, the Human Race Warships suddenly appeared in outer space, surrounded by a variety of other warships, with a few Assault Ships even blocking the sky over the barracks.
The escape of these more than hundred High-Rank Insects had a fatal impact on the Insect Race barracks, causing other Golden Core, Dust-Cleanse, and Qi Refinement Realm Insects to also flee, although they would die faster once outside without protection, they still ran desperately.
In fact, the choice of the insects was correct; the insect swarm gushed forth, making it impossible to kill them quickly in such a rush, and the hit rate and lethality of unit energy significantly decreased.
Thus, although these barracks collapsed within less than an hour, in reality, over half of the low-rank Insects managed to escape.
Once these Insects had escaped, most ran for their lives without looking back, with some occasionally trying to turn back for a sneak attack, but the outcome was self-evident—such reckless ones were the focus for Tianqin Cultivators’ strikes.
Towards the end of the barracks collapse, many insects had a sudden inspiration to flee into the temple—what if the Human Race didn’t attack the temple?
Sure enough, the Human Race Army, after leaving some Mechas to guard, turned to chase down the fleeing insects.
Thus, these insects developed ideas: the temple on Second Planet might not have originally ruptured, but it was indeed the Spider Nascent Soul that invoked divine descent, thereby dragging the temple into it.
Then a new problem arose: why would a temple not invoking divine descent remain intact? To say it was the Human Race showing mercy to the Insect Race, not a single insect would believe it. So there’s only one possibility: the Human Race lacked the ability to actively attack the temple.
Past wars proved that Human Race warships could destroy temples, but that required at least "Division" level, whereas the Human Race warships attacking the star system this time were likely regimental or brigade-level, unable to damage the temple.
As for why the temple could be damaged post divine descent... perhaps it was the new-style weapon of the Human Race?
Anyway, except for the Second Planet, the insects hiding in the temple were very calm. Once the news spread, the insects on other planets flocked to the temple, and even some Golden Core insects on the Second Planet flew to other planets seeking temple shelter.
The escape of Insect Race from First Planet truly kept the cultivators of Tianqin busy for a while. Besides intercepting between planets, they also had to search for insects on the surface. The key was that efficiency was not high.
Searching for insects required consuming energy, and once found, the insects would flee, which consumed even more time and energy.
A day and night passed, and the Tianqin Cultivators had killed less than half the insects compared to those slain within one hour the previous day; everyone felt this couldn’t continue and decided to hold another meeting.
After a preliminary discussion, everyone felt the direction of development was problematic and suggested inviting an Out-of-Body True Sage to help eliminate the temples.
The reason they didn’t act against the temples was not due to inability but rather concern that these insects might invoke another divine descent, or perhaps due to entanglement with Insect Race karma, requiring a True Sage to intervene.
Now, among the six planets, essentially only the temples remained. Employing an Out-of-Body True Sage to eliminate these temples would allow them to clean up the remaining low-rank Insects.
Everyone agreed to invite a True Sage, but... which True Sage should they invite?
For such a tail-end nature of work, Feng Jun wouldn’t proactively suggest inviting Luan Xiong True Sage.
The True Immortal of Yuangang suggested to invite True Sage from the channel entrance, as for who to invite, determined by the two sects’ arrangements. Other True Immortals echoed this, though the True Immortal of Xuanhuang suggested inviting the True Sage fishing on the front lines, which would maintain the number of True Sages at the channel entrance.
There were also True Immortals stating, "The True Sage from my house is easy to invite and takes good care of me. Mountain Master Feng can take me to Tianqin."
After a lengthy discussion, everyone finally decided to go to the passage entrance and wait for the assignment of a True Sage.
However, Real Man Zhongba said, "I suggest inviting the True Sage Fisher, because I think we should replenish some ammunition."
This is an objective issue. Don’t think that everyone has been trying to use energy weapons; plasma cannons, electromagnetic guns, and other weapons can’t be completely unused. Otherwise, the Insect Race would immediately notice something amiss.
When Feng Jun came with the weaponry and equipment, he brought ten units of elixirs. Now, apart from those space battleships, the weapons and ammunition of small-scale combat units have been more than half consumed, especially mechas, ground vehicles, etc., which have consumed even more.
In other words, it is not enough to support the second Zhezhi Galaxy war.
Feng Jun could extract some ammunition from his own set of equipment, but since there is another way, why should he pay out of his own pocket?
Moreover, many mechas and firearms also showed damage. The supply ship could provide some common spare parts for repairs, but such consumables should be regularly replenished.
Everyone listened to Feng Jun and thought it made sense. Although the Yuangang sect True Immortal had some personal motives, he couldn’t oppose it. He only asked in confusion, "Will we continue fishing in the future?"
At this point, the Xuanhuang sect True Immortal retorted, "This is not about continuing to fish... Whether we are fishing or not, starting a second battlefield in this world requires necessary camouflage."
This explanation left everyone speechless. Feng Jun paused and then nodded slightly, "You watch here first. I’ll go invite the True Sage Fisher."
He disappeared in a flash, and the crowd exchanged glances, "Are we just going to wait here?"
"I think our True Immortal can go to the First Planet," Xia Nichang suggested, "The temple there has been destroyed, but there are still many Insect Race members. We left in a hurry last time; this time we can clean it up."
Everyone nodded in agreement, "Indeed, since there’s nothing else to do..."
Feng Jun arrived at Xingzheng Star and found the war here had become even more brutal. However, he didn’t bother to contact He Runxian but released his divine sense to call for the Fisher.
Yet, before the Fisher arrived, Ren Tu True Sage had already shown up, "You keep calling that fishing guy over and over, do you think my combat strength is inadequate?"
Feng Jun laughed at this, "Not at all, it’s just that this world was connected by Xuanhuang and Yuangang, and we should give some face to the hosts."
"You’re right about that," the Fisher’s Nascent Soul also arrived. The Fisher initially wanted to tease Feng Jun a bit, but seeing Ren Tu was here, he proactively joined, "A rough person like the Chef doesn’t know anything about manners."
"Are you kidding me?" Ren Tu snorted, "You don’t know how to protect a True Immortal outside, forget it... I’ll go."
As he left, he privately sent a divine sense message to Feng Jun, "See? Fortunately, I came. Otherwise, who knows how long that guy would’ve strung you along. Not a good guy at all."
"What are you whispering about?" the Fisher coldly glanced at his back, then turned to Feng Jun, "What’s the matter this time?"
These old folks are truly worrisome! Feng Jun complained inwardly and then answered solemnly, "It’s about the temples..."
After hearing the explanation, the Fisher frowned slightly, "Five temples... It’s really interesting. What are their cultivation levels?"
For one or two temples, he would’ve gone without thinking, even if they housed Body Integration Realm deities, he wouldn’t be afraid.
But five... he truly needed to consider if he could handle it. He’d been fighting fiercely on the front lines for years, relying mostly on sneak attacks, and though he had places to replenish his spiritual energy, the wear and tear wasn’t small.
Moreover, when he took action, thousands of Tianqin cultivators would be watching. If any mishap occurred, let alone potentially endangering those juniors’ lives, even just in terms of face, he couldn’t lose it.
"I’m unaware," Feng Jun shook his head but sensed that the Fisher seemed somewhat hesitant, "If the battle here is too intense for diversion, I’ll go to the passage entrance to invite other True Sages."
"The battle is indeed intense here," with a flash, Ren Tu True Sage returned, "This place can’t do without the Fisher’s protection. I’ll go handle those several temples instead."
He also knew that the Fisher was struggling somewhat, so he volunteered, of course, not without a hint of jibe at the Fisher.
"Then let’s have the Chef go," the Fisher laughed and said, "The Chef’s killing aura has a restraining effect on Incense Fire Ascension."
"Restraining my foot!" Ren Tu True Sage glared at him, "I just don’t want the news reaching the passage entrance, for others to make a laughingstock of us, saying two True Sages can’t protect two battlefields."
In truth, Ren Tu True Sage’s killing aura was indeed intense, or he wouldn’t have earned such a moniker. But if anyone thought he only knew killing, they’d be mistaken.
Brought by Feng Jun to the Zhezhi Galaxy, he first observed the starry sky for more than two hours before asking, "There are Insect Races on six planets, why are there only five temples?"
