Chapter 2473 - 2465: The Deal
"Seventy percent off?" Feng Jun chuckled, "Forget it, I won’t take advantage of you, let’s make it fifty percent off. Where should the energy blocks be delivered to?"
"You, you... wait," Ninth Brother was stunned for a moment before speaking, "Do you really have energy blocks in your hand?"
"Maybe they are energy stones, not much difference," Feng Jun replied casually, "Considering it’s our first transaction, I’ll pay the deposit first. Whether you can complete the order or not, it’s definitely not my fault if the deal falls through."
Ninth Brother didn’t understand the phrase "not my fault," but he got the general idea, "Do you mean to unconditionally pay with energy blocks first?"
Currently on Xingzheng Star, if medicine could be considered a scarce resource, then energy blocks were undoubtedly recognized hard currency. Many people had used up a lot of credit to obtain them.
But right now, with energy blocks... it’s not even a matter of credit anymore; they’re simply out of stock!
Hesheng has a few million tons in entry, but the production base itself demands energy stones. Besides, they are already in production, and together with Hesheng’s other departments, they need a minimum of fifteen hundred tons of energy stones per day at the very least.
Exploration Bank also needs energy stones, the Zuo Jing City government continues to need energy stones, and the military has been watching this place closely, taking away three million tons of energy stones initially. They want more, but neither Hesheng nor the bank, nor the Zuo Jing City government, will agree to that.
Ninth Brother was unclear about how many energy stones the Human Race still had in reserve. However, he knew for sure that within the clan, two small factories that produced energy rods had already shut down due to a lack of energy stones.
The government didn’t agree with their closure, but there was no choice... If there really are energy stones, this business would make money with ease.
Feng Jun nodded, "I’ll advance some energy stones, you provide the goods, and I’ll pay the balance in the end. How does that sound?"
Ninth Brother struggled to focus before responding, "What kind of goods do you need?"
Feng Jun inquired and found out that the Chen Family could provide a local production line, but only for the immune system, and a reserve of finished drugs for Alzheimer’s and cancer. The Chen Family had some for personal use but lacked the capability to manufacture new ones.
The immune system production line is relatively easy to set up. This kind of medicine boosts the body’s natural immunity, somewhat akin to traditional Chinese medicine, so the focus of manufacturing lies in the raw materials.
However, the Chen Family has an ample stockpile of these raw materials and can supply Feng Jun with them.
The production line for treating cancer and Alzheimer’s has some essential components that cannot be produced on the Native Star. The limb regeneration medicine is produced in collaboration with the military, but the Chen Family only holds a minor stake, and the production base is not within the local star system.
Feng Jun frowned, "So all you have is the immune system production line?"
"Some production lines can be offered in other star systems," Ninth Brother answered seriously, "This immune system production line heavily relies on raw materials, and we can provide those in large quantities."
"Alright, let’s just treat it as a charity," Feng Jun said, shaking his head in frustration, "How many energy blocks is this production line worth?"
"Five thousand tons of energy blocks for you to take," Ninth Brother answered without hesitation, "Before the war, it would have been worth at least fifteen thousand tons of energy blocks, but now we can’t calculate it that way."
Feng Jun nodded and then spoke in a solemn voice, "How much deposit do we need to pay?"
"If it can be thirty thousand tons, that would be ideal," Ninth Brother calculated and replied. If the other party could advance so many energy blocks, he could single-handedly manage this deal.
It’s not that he wanted to hog the profits; it’s just that this is not a normal transaction. Once more people are involved, there are too many voices and ideas which can potentially disrupt the deal, and then it would be too late to regret it.
"Thirty thousand tons," Feng Jun laughed at this, "You don’t have a big appetite, but even if I dared to give you this, do you have a place to store it?"
"I have a place," Ninth Brother nodded with pride, "I have a scrap metal recycling station, and there’s a large underground warehouse already emptied that can undoubtedly store tens of thousands of tons of energy blocks."
Feng Jun nodded slightly, "I thought it was above ground, but the underground one... take me to see it."
Ninth Brother didn’t say a word and directly drove him to the metal recycling station.
Sure enough, there was an underground warehouse here, covering an area of eighty to ninety thousand square meters. Its height wasn’t very high, around four meters, and it had many support columns. Considering it was used for storing scrap metal, it wouldn’t matter even if a part collapsed.
Feng Jun released his Divine Sense to check and then asked in a deep voice, "Does this place have surveillance equipment?"
"Inside the warehouse there’s definitely no need, there’s an interface but it’s not in use," Ninth Brother replied casually. This is only for storing scrap metal, why would there be a need for a surveillance system? "There are surveillance devices only at the three entrance and exit doors."
"Remove the cameras at the entrance," Feng Jun said lightly, "Our people will be transporting the energy stones over, and I don’t want anyone to see. Your people should also not be on duty, is there a problem?"
"No problem," Ninth Brother replied indifferently, "The warehouse is empty anyway, and usually there’s no one on duty."
Feng Jun simulated with his mobile phone internally and discovered this place indeed had few visitors, "Give me a key, I’ll first pay a deposit of one hundred thousand tons of energy stones. As for the remaining fifty thousand tons’ worth, exchange it all for raw materials for me... no problem?"
Ninth Brother immediately guaranteed by patting his chest, "No problem... are you paying the full amount?"
Feng Jun glanced at him and then responded indifferently, "So your vision... never mind, I’m too lazy to talk to you about it."
"It’s fine, feel free to speak," Ninth Brother said with a smile, "Given that you’re handing over one hundred thousand tons of energy stones, you can say whatever you like."
He originally thought that transporting a hundred thousand tons of energy stones would take some time. However, to his surprise, early the next morning, there was a note at the door notifying him that the goods had already been delivered.
He immediately brought people to the warehouse and discovered it was true. However, what they offered were not energy blocks, but energy stones of very high quality, with a total weight exceeding one hundred twenty thousand tons.
After roughly calculating it, even after deducting refinement costs, it equaled no less than a hundred thousand tons of energy blocks. He hurried to contact his family to finalize the issue of the immune medicine production line.
Because he had notified them in advance and the assembly of the production line was simple, there were no problems. But when he asked for raw materials equivalent to fifteen thousand tons of energy blocks, his family replied: Sorry, I can’t help, the stock isn’t sufficient.
It should have been enough to prepare raw materials for fifty thousand tons of energy blocks, but Ninth Brother is reasonable. The price of energy blocks is sky-high, and exchanging three times the material for them is only standard—which is also how the production line was sold.
But his family was really not helpful, with at most enough raw materials equivalent to seventy to eighty thousand tons of energy stones—actually a considerable amount of reserve, which was why he dared to say the raw materials supply was guaranteed.
This truth drove Ninth Brother a bit crazy. He did not want that mysterious person to feel any dissatisfaction—not because he was afraid of them, but if he offended this person, how could he continue with the medicine and energy stone business?
The supplier’s family was unaware of his struggles and was very displeased, indicating: I’m squeezing from my own share, I’ve halted my own drug production to provide you with this many raw materials, and you’re still unhappy?
Ninth Brother retorted angrily, "Come on, you’d want to keep on producing, but do you have energy blocks?"
As he continued to contact people, he arranged for personnel to convert energy blocks within the warehouse. The Insect Race on the surface kept attacking but didn’t affect the production underground.
The conversion of energy blocks was actually quite easy, and the related equipment was user-friendly enough. Ninth Brother put five people inside, and in one day, they converted almost ten thousand tons of energy blocks.
This was the benefit of high-grade minerals, but Ninth Brother had no time to marvel at it. He was pondering how to cover the shortfall.
These energy stones are not returnable, not in a million years, so what should be prepared for the other party?
Common sense dictates he should consult people within the Chen Clan Association—outsiders are unreliable, only the Chen family can be entrusted with significant matters.
However, because this matter was too large, even though the Chen family was indeed trustworthy, being family, if they made some inappropriate demands, Ninth Brother wouldn’t be able to refute them. Although he was a director, he still had to answer to the president and vice-president.
If the president or vice-president spoke, he absolutely couldn’t go against them, and then the situation could spiral out of control.
Ninth Brother would definitely strive for maximum benefits for his clan, but there were certain decisions that couldn’t be subject to family involvement.
Thus, he thought of someone else: the owner of a shopping mall.
The mall’s owner was currently staying home to take care of things, and because his father was also injured, he didn’t go to the mall much. Most of the time, the mall was run by the owner’s wife and her sister.
Ninth Brother wasn’t familiar with the owner’s wife, but they knew of each other, especially since the day before yesterday when he had arranged for San San to send some medicine and food to her.
There were insects rampaging outside, which kept him from leaving his house, so he used his wrist communicator to call the owner’s wife.
It was an unfamiliar number, but Ninth Brother disclosed his identity information during the call. Seeing the relevant details, the owner’s wife accepted the call, "Hello, Ninth Brother of the Chen Family. We don’t usually interact much, so I wonder what brings you here today."
"I’ve been aware of Sister Qin’s great reputation for years," Ninth Brother laughed lightly, "I have some business I’d like to discuss with you. It’s rather urgent, and I was wondering when you might be available?"
"Ninth Brother’s business... I’m a bit concerned whether I can handle it," the owner’s wife answered without showing any emotion, "If I recall correctly, the Chen Clan Association has always had ample supplies."
"If Sister Qin isn’t comfortable, then forget it," Ninth Brother replied expressionlessly, thinking to himself that reaching out for cooperation was a gesture of respect. If she didn’t value it, she couldn’t blame him for not taking care of her.
"Here’s the deal, I want to purchase a large amount of raw materials in bulk, and I wonder if there’s any relevant stock in your mall?"
