Chapter 694: SFDI - 694
Drake, of course, was unaware that Vander Decken had already allied with Hody Jones, just like in the original story. He was currently drinking with Neptune at Queen Otohime’s grave.
After finishing a drink, Neptune said, "Speaking of which, another man is buried here.
If that man were still alive, things would surely be completely different!"
Without Neptune needing to say it, Drake had already guessed who he was referring to.
The former captain of the Sun Pirates, Fisher Tiger, a legendary figure even in the human world.
The fact that even a hero like Jinbe and a villain like Arlong willingly called him "Big Brother" spoke volumes about Tiger’s abilities and charisma.
However, Drake was noncommittal about Neptune’s statement that things would be different if Tiger were alive.
After all, the divide between humans and Fish-Men was not easily bridged.
The root of human discrimination against Fish-Men and Merfolk, and the resulting hatred of Fish-Men towards humans, lay in the deeply ingrained evil within human nature.
Even someone like Tiger couldn’t eradicate it.
Furthermore, there was Tiger himself. He was not a proponent of coexistence like Queen Otohime.
Having personally experienced human atrocities and been betrayed by humans, he refused a blood transfusion from humans even at the end of his life, expressing his anger. Tiger’s feelings were understandable.
Yet, when he liberated the slaves in Mary Geoise, he treated the human slaves equally, which is why Drake admired him.
In short, Tiger yearned for a day when humans and Fish-Men could understand and accept each other. But he also understood the impossibility of that reality.
It had to be said that Tiger was quite similar to Neptune in some aspects.
However, Drake didn’t voice his thoughts, merely picked up the wine bottle and poured Neptune another drink.
Neptune looked at Drake and said, "So, when do you plan to take action?"
Drake put down the wine bottle, took out a Den Den Mushi, and smiled, saying, "Of course, without delay. We start now!"
With that, Drake picked up the Den Den Mushi’s receiver. Before Drake could speak, he heard the Den Den Mushi imitate Natsu’s voice.
"Drake, I’m getting impatient. Can we act now?" Drake was first stunned, then broke into a smile.
After all, Drake had told everyone they were here to sightsee on Fish-Man Island, never mentioning the need for a fight.
Yet, his companions, upon seeing Drake and Neptune leave, sensed that a fight was brewing. Drake wondered if they were perceptive or simply restless.
Drake said, "Then let’s get to work. Our target is a Fish-Man named Vander Decken IX. His base is that giant ship in Fish-Man District."
Saying this, Drake looked at Neptune and said, "Um... you don’t mind if we make a bit of a mess in Fish-Man District, do you!"
As he spoke, Drake raised his other hand, separating his thumb and index finger slightly, indicating the extent of "a bit of a mess."
Neptune had no idea what was about to happen and simply nodded blankly.
Although Neptune didn’t object, Drake couldn’t directly tell everyone. Otherwise, even he wouldn’t know how far things would escalate.
So Drake said to the Den Den Mushi, "You guys be careful. Whatever you do, don’t end up destroying Fish-Man Island!"
Neptune thought Drake was joking. He was concerned about something else and said, "Aren’t you going yourself?"
Drake didn’t want his client to think he was slacking off. So he said, "Don’t worry, my companions are very strong. A mere Vander Decken is enough for them to handle!"
Neptune thought about it and nodded. Drake was a powerful individual on the sea, on par with the Four Emperors and Marine Admirals. It would indeed be overkill for Drake to personally deal with Vander Decken IX.
Neptune poured himself another drink and said, "Newgate told me a lot about you. I hear you know many things. So, what are your thoughts on the situation between humans and Fish-Man Island?"
Drake hadn’t expected him to bring up this topic but still answered truthfully: "The current seas are actually not suitable for Fish-Men and Merfolk to survive in."
Drake pointed upwards and said, "If the trash at the top of this world doesn’t change their attitude towards Merfolk and Fish-Men, you will never be accepted.
And hoping for those trash to change is just wishful thinking."
Neptune’s expression visibly darkened. He knew all too well what Drake was saying. It was precisely because of this that he held a pessimistic view of Queen Otohime’s dream.
At the same time, he was amazed by Drake’s audacity. Many people in this world knew the Celestial Dragons were trash, but very few directly called them that.
Neptune shook his head. This kind of courage, to disregard the Celestial Dragons, if he possessed similar courage, perhaps some of the current situation could be changed.
Just as he was lost in thought, a loud explosion suddenly echoed, shaking Neptune.
Neptune looked blankly in the direction of the explosion, only to see a column of black smoke rising.
The Sea Forest was located within the Fish-Man District, so the explosion in Fish-Man District could be seen clearly from here. With such a large commotion occurring there, it was naturally visible from this side.
Neptune turned his head to look at Drake, who was guiltily bringing an empty wine cup to his lips.
Drake drank the wine in the cup and looked up, saying, "It seems they’ve found their target. It should be over soon."
Just then, the sounds of shouting and clashing weapons carried over, interspersed with numerous screams.
Neptune looked at Drake again, and Drake waved his hand and said, "They’ve probably encountered some minor trouble. Don’t worry, they can handle it!"
Just as Drake finished speaking, a giant blue-purple giant rose in the distance. Even from the Sea Forest, the style of the giant’s armor could be seen.
The giant swung its massive ninjatō downwards with immense force, its power even causing an underwater earthquake.
The fish in the Sea Forest were startled and began to flee.
Without even looking up, Drake could feel Neptune’s complicated gaze.
Drake’s face also darkened slightly. These guys really didn’t care about the consequences when they started causing trouble. And Sasuke, this guy has completely become one of Fairy Tail’s members. He wasn’t this reckless originally, was he?!
All one could say was, this was the magic of Fairy Tail!
Although he knew they would naturally go wild, causing such a commotion just to deal with Vander Decken was truly excessive.
Drake stood up and said, "The situation has deviated slightly from expectations. Let’s go take a look together!"
