Chapter 4: Lost Memories (Chapter 4: Lost Memories)

Episode 1: The Dream Goes On/Dreams That Don't Wake Up

Beneath the dry cut sky, the remains of past empires are spread. Once upon a time, there existed in this place the greatest great empire in the world that had excelled in prosperity.

But that too is now long ago. What is now spreading to this place was the transformed appearance of the former Great Empire. I can't feel the vibrancy of the day from anywhere.

As if time had stopped, there was a line of decaying houses around. On the decayed streets, a swarm of slow-flowing clouds. The sight illuminates as if this time were to last forever.

This is Valentis, a ruins city in the southern part of the Kingdom of Sertoria. For the kingdom of today, this place is a relic of the past. Unlike the capital, Elixis, which is responsible for the country's centre, the town only served as a major tourist destination.

Valentis was once the capital of the thriving great empire Elba.

But neither did the prosperity of the empire, which had made its name heard all over the world, last long. There were limits to dictatorship. The rebels who disputed the Emperor's dictatorship flipped the flag. The civil war with the rebels led to the collapse of the Elba Empire.

In the heart of the ruins city stood a large castle. The castle, like the houses around it, was decaying, but it should be noted that the castle emitted a different presence. For some reason, only from the castle could the former vibrancy be slightly felt.

In a castle like that, there were two pairs of men who showed suspicious movement, two of them in a space of thrones. I guess that's the throne the emperor once sat on, but now it's completely obsolete.
