Chapter 343: Servers Reopening
Ding~! Ding~!
The ringbell went off, and Fang Raon, who was in the middle of making some food, quickly washed his hands and walked to the door.
As soon as he opened the front door, a woman of immense beauty jumped into his arms, the smell of her shampoo filling his senses.
"Hello~!"
Chaewon said with a smile.
She was carrying a bag with her, which had some of her stuff, like her toothbrush and a change of clothes.
Outside the apartment, there were some guys working for a moving company, dragging behind a box of Virtual Reality Pod, and some other stuff.
Chaewon rented them to make the move easier.
"Come in."
Fang Raon said with a smile.
With his instructions, they took the Virtual Reality Pod to the bedroom, where he already had his own pod.
It was big enough of a room to fit the second Virtual Reality Pod and even the third, then, for Della’s pod.
"You are making food?"
Chaewon asked after smelling some good and walked to the kitchen to see him make some food at the pan and stove.
It was nice to see because last time she visited Raon’s apartment, his refrigerator was filled with microwave food.
It wasn’t a healthy way to live, but it looked like Raon was now taking his health seriously, eating proper food.
"I am learning."
Fang Raon said with a smile.
He had his phone open on the kitchen counter, having some recipe instructions open, because he wanted to make sure he was doing it right.
Even though he had been living alone for a long time, he never actually learned to cook, mostly because he was blind at the time.
He thought it would be dangerous, so easier was just eat some premade food instead, as he couldn’t accidentally burn himself doing that.
Then, at Fang Village, all the food was made by their servants, so he never had the need to cook anything for himself.
"That’s the rest of it. Have a good rest of the day, miss."
The moving guys said, and headed out, but threw a gaze at Raon, thinking about how lucky he was to have such a pretty girlfriend moving in with him.
"This apartment is nicely spacious."
Chaewon said aloud and then looked at the bedroom, where there was just one bed, and threw a suspicious gaze at Raon.
"Only one bed, huh?"
"Yeah."
Fang Raon crossed his arms and said with a smile, and Chaewon playfully pouted, but she didn’t mind in the slightest.
"This apartment is not as big as the one you’re used to, but it will do for now."
Fang Raon said.
"For now?"
Chaewon asked curiously about what he meant by that.
"I don’t plan on staying at this floor forever. Remember my goal in life? To live at the top of the Megaworld?"
Fang Raon asked with a smile.
"You’re still planning to do that?"
Chaewon asked with a surprise.
"...Maybe, but I do plan on moving to higher floors once I’ve earned enough money."
Fang Raon said.
At the higher floors, the apartments weren’t just apartments. They were luxury condos with stunning views of the city.
And he wanted nothing but the best for Chaewon and Della and felt like they might be disappointed to live in such a modest-looking apartment.
Sure, they would most likely still enjoy their time as long as they were with him, but he couldn’t help but want to give them the best possible experience.
"We can also pool together money. I have some savings that I can contribute from working. And Della is well... Della, who has been guild master of a very profitable guild for a while now.
"We have more than enough."
Chaewon said.
"Nah, that’s fine. I got this."
Fang Raon shook his head.
He didn’t want to ask for their money, even though they were roommates now, as he wanted to do this by himself.
It was a sort of a pride thing.
"Men and their stupid pride."
Chaewon rolled her eyes, and then she checked the time on her phone and noticed that it was about time.
"The servers will go online soon, won’t they?"
"In about an hour. We have enough time to eat. I made some for you as well."
Fang Raon said, and then he poured the food into two bowls, and carried them to the dining table.
"What are your plans after the servers come back up?"
Chaewon asked as she enjoyed the food and thought it was good but could’ve used a little more salt.
It was fine, though, as it was Raon’s first time trying cooking, and he was only going to get better.
"I’ll try my hand at streaming. I can stream as I start climbing the tower again."
Fang Raon said.
"With whom you’ll climb the tower?"
Chaewon asked curiously.
"Alone."
Fang Raon shrugged his shoulders.
He didn’t think he needed anybody else, but trying to Solo Clear floors this high was very dangerous, and many wouldn’t dare.
However.
He was not afraid.
"Are you sure that is the wisest thing to do?"
Chaewon asked.
"I’ll be fine."
Fang Raon said with a smile.
He then remembered that he still didn’t have a sword, as Rock did mention the Mythic Weapon, but he never had time to go for it.
Even if he got his hands on it, it would’ve been deleted from his account, like every Mythic Weapon had with this new update.
"What are your plans? Now that you’re the team leader of the Fourth Line."
Raon asked curiously.
"Rose Records is planning to hire some mercenaries to help me and Kevin climb up the tower. Fourth Line has reached the 30th floor, so before we can do anything with them, we must catch up to them."
Chaewon said.
"That’s a problem with changing the lines. Need to do a lot of catching up, which is really bothersome."
Fang Raon said.
"Yeah, I wish there was a better way, but I guess this is just part of the game. We can’t possibly just skip floors to save time."
Chaewon said.
"First Line has reached the 50th floor, and I am still on the 16th floor. I know they’re planning to wait, but it also means that they’ll be passed by other guilds, which might make our Global Guild Ranking drop.
"Therefore, I basically need to hurry over there as soon as possible."
Fang Raon said.
"You aren’t thinking about Solo Clearing all those floors, right?"
Chaewon asked.
It would be pretty insane, as the difficulty of the floors has insane climbs after the 30th floor, and nobody had dared to Solo Clear those floors.
"I don’t think I should try Solo Clearing. It’s quite risky. I’ll find a way to reach them, maybe join temporary parties."
Fang Raon said.
Chaewon nodded.
They then finished eating and washed the dishes together and put the leftover food in the refrigerator.
Whenever they were done playing, they would probably be pretty hungry, so it was good to have leftovers available for a quick meal.
It was forty minutes till the servers opened, so they had nothing to do, so they just lay on the couch in each other’s arms.
The television was on, playing softly in the background. It had some gaming news on. Mostly about Black Online.
A few mentions about Rain Online, but the interest had slightly faded off, now that Black Online was back.
Still, Rain Online had gained a lot of popularity in the past year, so they would most likely still have a very profitable opening.
However.
Knowing that everyone had to purchase new Virtual Reality Pod made by Rain Company did bring them some negative PR for a while.
Those weren’t cheap, and they didn’t think it was necessary to make new one.
However, the first version of the Virtual Reality Pod was made by Black Online Company, and Rain Company simply wanted a piece of the pie.
Virtual Reality Pods made great revenue, and seeing that, Rain Company wanted to take those sales away from Black Online Company.
Then, there was also the fact that Rain Online had been very careful about what they would show about the game.
A few trailers had been released, but none of them showed gameplay, and they showed a very limited amount.
Barely enough so the players would know what the game was about.
The clock ticked down. It was about five minutes left till the servers reopened.
All around the world, some schools even closed, as teachers would rather be trying out the new update.
The players, who quit the game because of the hackers and thought they would never play the game again, came running back.
Excitement was palpable.
"Shall we go?"
Chaewon asked cutely.
She didn’t mind being in Raon’s arms forever, but she could tell that he was impatient to get in the game.
"Yeah, we should."
Fang Raon gave her a quick kiss, and they went to the bedroom, and climbed inside their Virtual Reality Pods.
"Good luck, dear."
Chaewon said, and she then pressed a button and transferred her consciousness to the virtual space.
"Whoo... Let’s do this."
Fang Raon did the same, and his eyes closed.
