Border Guardian Hal Akircius

Chapter 2: Old Stories Altrius Edition

A brilliant moon rises to heaven and lights up all around.

After a brief meal with preserved food, Hal and Ellesia were relaxing with Altrius.

The location is the office where Altrius once lived and the private office of the Legion Leader.

There was also a fireplace, which was forty years old, but the candles could also be lit, so it changed quickly to an overnight inn.

At the time Altrius was not attentive, and after re-sealing the vault replacement room, he was satisfied by carrying out a description of the urban installations and a survey of preserved goods with Hull.

Though the city was well preserved for its arsenals and foodstuffs, the food was largely used up in the former Battle of Cage Castle, and the seals were not functioning well, and forty years had turned everything into dirt.

The arsenals were stored in pretty good condition because they were stored in a tightly sealed arsenal, and quite a few of those arrows were stored in solid armor helmets, swords and spears, imperial-style short bows, and crossbows, even though they were no longer used because the model was old.

It is also well preserved and full of other building materials and materials, everyday and building tools, and agricultural equipment, not just mechanical tools, which surprises Hal.

"I was going to explore the land, so I did all sorts of things from the Empire.

As Altrius opened the vault to make it look like Hull, he spoke well.

"Well, it's a calm thing, and let's talk about it in the old days?

Altrius, who was looking out the window at the moon, suddenly said.

"Well, I think we need to understand each other in what we're going to do together.

"... I don't have much to talk about.

'Well, if there's a part of you that you don't want to talk about, you don't have to.

"... okay.

Erreisia agrees, Hal reluctantly a little, but is persuaded by Altrius to respond.

'Okay, so shall I talk to you from me who told you?

Altrius began to speak happily.

Gaius Altrius was young and accomplished with distinction and was taken up by military officers while a civilian, and furthermore, on his first assignment to the southern continental border, he stopped tribal coalition raids in a newly built fort, creating an opportunity for a great invasion of the southern part of the Imperial Army.

It was after this first battle that the Empire was able to enter the southern continent in full, and Altrius will be the last of the aristocratic class as the castle owner of his homeland, while being a civilian by virtue of merit.

But the glory of Gaius Altrius, who emerged, did not last long, and to mention that he was made to turn around his idleness everywhere, he was sent to southern Cliffona as a border guardian, just like Hal.

At that time the southern region of Cliffona was a disputed area between the Orans and the Cliffonams, where few people lived, in a blank zone of forces, so to speak, the Empire sent Altrius with an eye to this state.

If we succeed, we can make money, and the prints of the Empire will spread.

Failure will result in the loss of a good general out of the blind civilian or, at worst, the loss of his life by barbarians in his land.

Even then, we can use it as an excuse to wage war, so it shouldn't have cost the Empire anything.

Altrius, who had become a civilian hero, could not be handled unhindered, a measure that the Imperial nobles had orchestrated in distress, but which Altrius used as a strange coin.

"He was a good civilian, but he was corrupt because of it, and he invited them.

The condition that Altrius wished for was that, at the dawn of the state ascent, he would not have a state governor, but would have an imperial emperor's command, with the commander of the 21st Legion, led by Altrius, of civilian origin, serving as his commander.

It is also one legion of the Empire, originally over 5,000, but the 21st legion brought together only those of civilian origin and dissatisfied with the Empire, resulting in 834 newly-built legions.

Altrius led this legion to the land where the Harmonium would be set up, and in just ten years he grew it by the time it was called the capital of the North.

Altrius was then elevated from a border guardian to a Northern Guard commander, who would continue to rule the Harmonium.

"However, the Imperial People were not allowed to colonize, I only recruited the people of the land, divided and settled the Harmonium into Orans to the west on the border and Cliffonams to the east, and used the Harmonium, the city of the Empire, as its relay point, so to speak, I acted as an intermediary between the Orans and the Cliffonams.

The village of Almar, where Hal stopped, is one of those villages.

Originally, a group of Armar people from another region were called to settle in, but they were told about imperial-style farming methods, and developed because they learned to do business, and finally grew up to be able to produce Armar chiefs.

Since the disputed area undergoes transformation into a relaying area and was originally also an exit route to East Photography and Siluha as a land route, the development accelerates and the dispute disappears, thus turning the wasteland into agricultural land and the beast and military roads into streets.

Altrius did not set up any checkpoints or appraisals except when entering the Empire, so it is also significant that the city was free to trade and distribute.

'Honestly, I was just neglecting me there, but you're the guy named Injury Merit.

Artrius says without evil.

But its development is stared at by the imperial center, and inhibition begins.

"... both central officials began to pay attention to the town's taxes.

Altrius threw up bitterly.

Central officials began collecting taxes by sending officials on the pretext that they were under the direct jurisdiction of the Empire.

All taxes, including customs duties, residents' taxes, sellers' taxes, walls taxes, land taxes, liquor taxes, etc. hit the Harmonium.

Until then, only residential and sales taxes in the city withstood enough contributions, but this jumped once and for all and central officials began to moisten with the amount of halmonium levied.

However, nobles and military personnel in conflict with the official did not want the central official to help.

The new levy, which was not imposed until then, also adversely affected the accumulation of dissatisfaction on both Oran Cliffonams.

It is true to say that the empire ruled only a small part of the land in and around Harmonia and broke the dispute between the Orans and the Cliffonams, but originally the other tribes of the Cliffonams only thought that their land had been invaded by the empire and understood the truth.

And there was a revolt.

The rebellion began with a Fried tribe-led effort that was brave and known among the Cliffonams, and when Altrius noticed the rebellion, its effects had already spread throughout the state territory of Cliffona Superior.

'I can't say very much that I ruled, I was just holding the dot, but I guess Alford seemed to be the root of our evil.

Altrius was a city dweller, mostly Cliffonam and Oran, but he drives this out of the city and takes a cage measure in the name of standing both government and government envoys from the center, but no reinforcements came.

"Now, I can't believe it, but I wish I could have stood around a little better. It doesn't suit me sexually, but it wouldn't have happened if I had bribed a soldier or a nobleman.

And five months later, Harmonium disappeared from the land, leaving only Tan, the hero of Altrius.
