Border Guardian Hal Akircius

Chapter 6: Urban Enhancement Cilentium Cage Castle Battle (Part 1)

days after the convocation of the Fried warriors, the village of Almar, the Alchiando mansion

"... I've got a problem.

"Chieftain, I don't know if we're talking about trouble! What do you keep relaxed!?

One of the elders grabbed at the blurry and crushed Arkiando in the central seat.

Archiand called and gathered all the chiefs of the tribe and the warrior chiefs.

We also called the Warriors apart from them, but we arrived as early as January and a half later.

Not sure how many warriors could be summoned at this time of year when the harvest was withheld nearby, but Arkiando summoned the warriors with a defensive meaning in mind.

If the Frieds were to move into a Cilentium attack, we should consider the possibility of getting involved as the most recent Almar.

One of the chiefs questioned Alkiando, who was silent again.

"Will you respond to King Alford's call?

"... no, I'm not talking about the warrior convocation from Lord Bergan, I'm probably going to suppress things only with the Frieds. Because the Orans in the west don't know the trend, either, on top of the Halemians in the north showing signs of going south.

To the words of its chief, Arkiando answers with his neck shaking beside him.

It is Miyazawa Bergan who is essentially moving Fried now, and we all know this if you are a Cliffonam.

The former hero king can't beat the old either, he has been busy recently and hears that the palace and court officials are also distressed by the king's response.

And three incompetent children were multiplying it, and Fried's courage was diminishing.

But the fame of a hero king is still high and cannot be scorned.

"Has the messenger back to Cilentium?

"No, but you'll be back here soon enough.

One of the other elders answered Archiando's question.

"... chief, are you glad you kept your shoulders in the empire?

"Imitation and nothing, I've already put my shoulder in for a long time.

It is an Armar tribe that has been under the umbrella of Harmonium for many years, following the imperial demand for contributions.

There is no doubt that the form of thought is more imperial than that of the other Cliffonams.

But Arkiando's words are obvious, and as a Cliffonan, the venue turns away because it was a bold statement.

"... even the hero king has made us offer property and soldiers so many times, how is it different from the empire? Isn't it thanks to Cilentium that the contributions from both the Empire and the Freed are gone?

When another chief made a statement that would supplement Alchiando's opinion, the blurring grew.

Indeed, after the start of the Cilentium reconstruction, there was no longer any demand for contributions that had come every month from the Empire.

The chiefs of Fried, aware of the presence of Cilentium, have also stopped stopping stopping at the villages of Almar, so the donations have stopped.

Meanwhile, as street maintenance from Cilentium has progressed throughout Almar and Imperial soldiers have been extremely gentlemanly patrolling and guarding us, the people of Almar have recently had tremendous and cheap days.

The most desirable state for Almar is to maintain this status quo.

"I wish the hero king would have just sat quietly... but he caused me trouble.

In another bomb statement by Arkiando, the blurring changed at last.

At that time, suddenly the doors of the mansion open.

As Arkiando looked back, a young people of Almar in simple leather armor stood in front of an open door, breathless and without trying to hide their impatience.

He was on guard of the mansion.

"There you go, chief! The messenger..."

Before Arkian asks what is going on, his people say it out of the blue.

When Arkiando frowned on his eyebrows, a dark-haired imperial appeared from then on.

"I will... long time no see, chief.

"... Protector which.

Hal Akircius, a border guardian, stood there with no escort and a messenger sent by Arkiando.

Hal glanced inside the mansion to spare the distracted chiefs of Alchiando and Almar, he said.

"... I've been doing you a favor... and you're all just getting together.

"Well, to be clear, it means I want to help you all.

Hal, who was provided with a chair next to Arkiando, asked for help getting into the stand-alone.

"As you know, Cilentium has very little that can be called force of war. Compared to that, even though it's farming season, there are 7,000 Fried warriors just informed by the chief, and this doesn't win.

"... but even if you can't muster Armar warriors, it's about 4,000. Bye. Protector, as I said, we can only gather about half of that now that it's soon agricultural breeding season.

One of the elders says only rarely to Hal's words.

"Yeah, I know that. I don't ask for help from the Almar people alone.

"... what else...?

"We intend to ask the Cliffonam tribes of the Socanians, Sodersi, Alpesio and Argento tribes and the Berefes of the Orans, who are colonizing the Cilentium, for help. Of course, at the dawn of victory, subject to the independence and inviolability of the tribe, plus the free access and assistance of the Cilentium.

Hal answers Arkiando's question pale.

"Stupid!

You and the killers are the ones who get up from their seats.

The tribes listed by Hal were all those belonging to the Southern system among the Cliffonams, except the Berefes of the Orans, all of whom, before the Great Rebellion of the Alford Hero, had a history of rivalry with the Freed tribes who were assisted by the Empire and belonged to the Northern system, but sympathized with King Alford, who preached the pride of the nation, took part in the Great Rebellion and expelled the Empire from the North.

Since the Great Rebellion, however, as with the Armar tribe, they are seen as subtribes on the grounds that they had ties to the Empire, and are individually pushed to contribute by entering into a loose dominant relationship with King Alford.

Peace and independence from the Empire were gained, but it was only in a state where the newly Freed came to the top on behalf of the Empire.

It is well known to the elders of the Armar tribe, who are in that position in fact, that they have benefited many in forty years from King Alford, but that the humiliation they have received is no less than that.

Therefore, the conditions put out by Hal were attractive and dangerous.

Moreover, the fair and generous attitude and governance of Cilentium has already spread to all, and there is sufficient credibility to back up the commitments.

Because of this, the Berefes are the upper tribe of the Sioneus, a large tribe with forces near the border between Oran and Cliffonam, but have been pushed for forty years by the neighboring Freed tribe of Cliffonam and have changed in mood.

Through Theoneus, we were in deep contact with Cilentium, and the situation was very similar to that of the Armar tribe.

"Ki, you! Split the Cliffonam in two on the northern border, what are you up to with involving Oran!!

"Independence... is more independence, and an alliance, isn't it? I would like to form an alliance with the nations that have just named Cilentium as their allies.

To Hal, who calms down and answers the words of the screaming chief, Arkiando again threw the question.

"... the only condition... is the provision of troops?

"To hit it off, it's a guarantee of that and the right of passage... once we gather representatives of each tribe to the Cilentium for a meeting... it will be after we defeat King Alford and show our strength.

Ignoring the place where the twirl is likely to turn into a scream, he stares as Arkiando stares at Hal.

"... can you break it? His hero king?

"It's possible with your help.

Without distracting himself, Hal answered clearly.

In the end, the answer is reserved alkiando.

As soon as Hal finished going around all the tribes, he left to visit Almar again, and took the Almar messenger on the road to travel to meet the next nearest tribe, the chief of the Argentine tribe.

After Hal left, Arkiando's mansion calmed down with enthusiasm.

Everyone's gaze is toward Arkiando.

Expectations, fears, and hope.

As Arkiando unwrapped his arms and took his seat, he placed his hands quietly on a table in front of him, slowly opening his mouth.

"... I think this is a good opportunity to take the empire and Fried's scum off Almar over the years.

There was no stray in the gaze of the upright Arkiando.

Shortly after Hal's departure, Cilentium

"... then I shall return immediately and lead every possible soldier.

'Um, don't worry about the aftermath, I'll take good care of you.

Adamantius on horseback, leaving a salute to Altrius, the division, was traveling with the escort cavalry to the south guard.

Adamantius is also deputy captain of the Imperial Northeast Border Guard.

A total of 1,000 soldiers under command, but due to the nature of border security, soldiers who can move freely, even if extracted from each defense, are about 1500 at best.

Already 500 of them are involved in street spreading and waterway development in Cilentium.

In an effort to hasten the convocation in the form of a ball-piercing move to the nearby fortress, an expedition was dispatched, but it was necessary to return to Adamantius' own post in order to carry out the organization work immediately.

Shortly before his departure, Hal had sent a messenger from Alchiando to meet directly with those who stood for Silentium.

It was heard by the messenger directly that King Alford had raised an army, varied with those who would cease to speak, with those who would turn blue, but all are irritated by surprise and despair.

"We just have to do what we can. I don't know how much cooperation I can get, but I will be consulting with the neighboring tribes shortly. Cilentium will temporarily interrupt waterways and pioneering maintenance to get all the effort to repair and build moats and walls and castle gates.

When Hal did not give up and said so, he nominated Lucius as his deputy and asked Altrius for that assistant.

We will also instruct Adamantius to organize reinforcements and return to the post, and we will immediately send a messenger to the neighbouring border guard for backup as well.

"As for the citizens, recruit prostitutes while making an evacuation call. There is no time, please move immediately.

King Alford will appear as early as February.

There is not so much time left until the attack.

Altrius is currently preparing for the war in the name of moving under Lucius' command, who deposits the title of administrative deputy from Hull.

Lucius only has the power of adjudication, and since the actual command and instructions are given by Altrius, everyone comes to Altrius for instructions.

Cilentium was once again the city under the control of the head of the Ghost Corps.

"Give up the stone walls in the moat, and when you hit the bottom with clay, put in the water as soon as the northern storage pond is ready.

"I don't care if the stone walls aren't that high, so hurry up and build enough stuff for people to hide anyway.

"You're giving up the field. If Alford comes, they'll trample everything, whatever you can harvest, but be prepared for nothing else.

"Anyway, store your own food and water, because those who fall from Cilentium are quick!

Early in the arrow, but under Altrius, who gave precise instructions, Cilentium was steadily preparing to fight.

Unlike at the time of the Harmonium, many people had no place to evacuate, while others could afford food and other supplies, so Altrius decided not to force the residents to evacuate.

"Well, but... going to persuade the people themselves is a courageous thing.

Giving instructions is also a paragraph, and Altrius recalls Hal's harsh glance as he inspects the construction of the walls, including laughing.

The difficulty is said to grow people, but it has become more reliable if you think about it.

"... to see tomorrow... or I didn't know I had a tomorrow... but I was dead and I didn't even think about it.

Altrius snapped with pleasure.

Regardless of Cliffonam, Oran, the Empire and its origins, the wrath of the citizens of Cilentium is strong.

I have worked hard to use abandoned cities and land and start a new life from now on.

It is the business of King Alford to nullify that achievement, which has finally begun to take shape, for unreasonable reasons.

It's weirder not to have anger.

And anger leads to action.

Numerous citizens appeared to help prepare for the war according to Altrius' instructions, but few attempted to escape the city.

"This is our city! We'll protect the city!

Cilentium citizens had come together to prepare for the war, and their minds were gradually beginning to tie into one.
