Border Guardian Hal Akircius

Chapter 11: The Fall of the Year/Battle of the North in Cilentium (Part 1)

"Details will be sent in the early horses, but Lord Bergan has requested an early departure of the Border Guardian."

Hal opened his mouth quietly after closing his eyes for a long time as the report was then exchanged by Quintus.

"… please contact Mr. Adamantius of Colonia Meridieto immediately and tell him to lead his regiment and assemble at Cilentium as soon as possible. Sir, if you'll excuse me, please stay away."

'Um, I'll take care of it. Fight to the full.'

"Mr. Altrius, aren't you going with Brother Hal?

Maple circles his eyes in surprise at Hull's request and Altrius' answer.

Altrius says when he arms, he deliberately makes a face that seems difficult.

"It's the mountains that I want to teach Haryoshi the key to military command in action, but I'm moving out of this city."

"Huh? That's right..."

Again to his surprise maple, Altrius answered with a slight smile as he arm wrapped, his eyes turned to Hull.

"... my curse has not yet been lifted. Unfortunately, I can't help him in this battle, far from the city, but I'm not worried. My successor is extremely good, but for that matter!

"... leave it to me, I won't betray my predecessor's expectations... Quintus!

"Yes, we've already instructed the 21st and 23rd Regiments to prepare for launch."

When Hull calls as he responds to Altrius with a smile, Quintus finally reports that he has already begun to prepare his regiment for dispatch.

"Okay, then this time I'm going to edit the Cilentium City Guard and the Corps of Engineers as a temporary corps, so you're going to have to do it."

Copy that, sir.

As Quintus rushes away from the room to perform the formative work, Sittius slowly advances to the side of Hull.

"I'll take care of backwards support. We will be replenishing the troops, arrowballs and spare weapons later, so please make your way to Fradia as soon as possible."

"Okay, thank you, then what did you say about heavy weapons and Mr. Suilius..."

"Is this the secret weapon of Secretary of Crafts of Swilius?

Sittius faces Hal's words unintentionally.

The weapon Hal says is the latest weapon of the Empire produced by Swilius bringing in technology.

"We don't have the time to be choosing weapons, and we have an engineering corps that can handle them. I also have a plan for how to use it, so at this point, let's take it with heavy weapons. Then, Mr. Sittius, keep your regiment in order."

Sittius frowns again at Hal's words.

"Is it an army? Only three regiments were authorized by the Empire, and no further regimental formation is strictly forbidden, despite the number of emergencies…"

"Yeah, so why don't you just braid two“ auxiliary corps ”that you braided with auxiliary soldiers? Surely there were no restrictions on auxiliary equipment, were there? There shouldn't be a problem if the contents of the equipment are the same as those of the Regular Corps"

"... I see you don't need permission from the Empire if you are an Auxiliary... I see you have such a hand... I understand, let's quickly compile a new Auxiliary Corps"

"I'll leave the post-braid training to you, I'll knock you into the mystery of imperial methods of warfare! In addition, it is equipment, but you can use all the weapons and protective equipment inventory. It doesn't make sense to save that stuff. It is only by use '

As Sittius was convinced, he began writing to the materials, nodding again and again, and Altrius applied for the soldier's gear.

When Hal asks for it, he returns it, Altrius smiles and disappears to unseal the warehouse.

"Then please tell Mr Bergan of Fradia that the hosting of refugees will be temporary in Fradia. Never let them use the streets to send refugees to Silentium."

"... you're not going to obstruct the movement of the legions, are you? I understand... are you okay? I don't think Fradia has enough capacity to accommodate refugees from two tribes..."

"Food, residential timber, tents and other supplies should be prepared here and sent to Fradia. We don't have time to be moving them to Cilentium right now. It can be painful, but it can also lead to the loss of everything if you get flushed into temporal emotions."

"Yes, sir, we'll escort you with the munitions as soon as possible, and I'll announce this to the citizens, will you?

"Please"

To Hal's words, Sittius left the room with a thank-you to bow his head in one hand with the thick material.

Hal calls the remaining blonde official and gives a message to each of the commissioners.

"Please tell the Secretary of Agriculture of Sachs to prepare and plow the wheat for winter sowing according to prescribed policy, and ask the other Directors to message him to do his job fully, without upset...... Maple!

"Hmm? What?

Hal tells the proper maple called by Hal with a serious look.

"I'm sorry, but I need you to explore with the shady the situation in Fradia and the trends in the Halemians. It's dangerous, so you don't have to, and I won't complain if you say no. But would you ask me to?

"It's my brother Hal's favor, and I don't mind that at all... but how do I get the info across?

"Oh, that's okay. I'll take my regiment north soon, so I'll meet you near Fradia."

"Yeah, okay, well, I'll be ready."

I guess I'm glad that Hal is counting on me.

Maple leaves the room in a good mood and lightly.

"Lucius, Primia, ask the two of you to be away"

"Oh, I'll take care of it... I've got a predecessor, and this one's gonna be fine, right?

"Yes, no problem, I'm sad I can't help you..."

"I don't think so, I think Primia's better confident, huh?

"Oh really...?

Knowing the meaning of the gaze that Ellesia was somehow pointing at the two, Hal turns those two to Ellesia and Alshalea in the margins.

"Elle, I'm sorry, I'll be away for a little while. Thank you, Mr. Alshalea."

"No, I'm fine. My beloved husband will surely return with victory"

"Yeah, I'm sure."

Hal replies with a full grin on Hal's words to Ellesia and Alshalea, this time as Hal smiles back.

"Yeah, I promise, that's why I want you to wait in peace"

"Yes, I'll wait"

Softly taking Hull's hand, Erlacia closed her eyes when she put that hand against her cheek and continued the words with a small voice that no one could hear.

"I'll be waiting... please come back safely..."

Three weeks later, Cilentium North Street

The neatly aligned Cilentium army was marching forcefully with fully equipped footsteps and streets made of brand new cobblestones and cement.

In addition to the 22nd legion led by Adamantius, who arrived in the forcible army, and the 25,000 elites of the Cilentium army, who added the extraordinary Cilentium legion, went all the way to Fradia.

According to an early horse from Bergan, the Halemians, who suddenly began southbound, were intercepted by tribal warriors in Cliffonam where they attacked several Possian settlements.

The Allied Warriors of the Possian and Sedenian tribes fought well, but were swallowed up by the overwhelming number of Halemians and wiped out, saying that the Halemians, who defeated the warriors, were coming south after avalanche into the dwellings of both tribes and exhausting the confines of their abusive wolves.

Despite considerable looting shortly after the harvest, the Halemians are still moving south, with no sign of staying.

According to Bergan, it is an unprecedented Halemian move aimed at looting and looting, and because it is moving at the shortest possible distance towards Fradia, someone may be guiding.

It also appears that a group of Rolfurt warriors adjacent to the Sedenian tribe have challenged the Halemians, but have not dared to be destroyed.

But the Halemians have not pursued this even towards the residence of the Rolfurt tribe.

If plunder is the aim, it is obviously odd that the warriors will not strike a tribe devastated and defenceless.

Originally, the Halemians, who were either satisfied with the loot and turned back to their land, or attacked a weak tribe and tried to stay in the land, continue slowly but southwards.

A large group of Halemians, including 300,000 women, children, and the elderly, knew in a report by a maple flying telegraph bird that when they reached the Ereil River, they continued to change direction southeast along the river as it was.

Halemians walking slower at once, filled with carriages, loads and people with loot, have barely moved since defeating the Rolfurt warriors.

Still, it's inconceivable not to stop moving except for some purpose.

Hal does not fail to gather information on the road and heads north on the street.

"Somehow I'd like to intercept you on the banks of the Ereil."

"Yeah, I'd like to do a lot of tricks... and I'd like to get to the Ereil River sooner than the Halemians"

"The Halemians seem to travel fairly slowly, so I'm probably going to make it..."

Quintus adds supplementary information to Hal, who answers that to Adamantius' words.

Hal saw the Northern Legion soldiers behind him as he heard Quintus.

The lead is followed by the 21st and 23rd Regiments, made up of Northern Regiment soldiers, and the 22nd Regiment under Adamantius, which is made up of Imperial soldiers with a clearly lower back length compared to Northern Regiment soldiers.

There were also auxiliary cavalry, auxiliary archers and tribal soldiers, seemingly imperial-style, but somewhat odd regiments with a northern atmosphere were there.

The rear end of that legion is a heavy weapon hit by a Cilentium legion and carriage converted from the Cilentium Defense Corps.

Heavy weapons are disassembled and packaged, so at a glance we do not know that this is a heavy weapon.

The nearby Northern Legion soldiers are looking at giant Imperial weapons with rare eyes.

Occasionally, turning up the sturdy cloth packed with a spear stone poke may have someone yelling at the engineer captain managing the heavy weapon, but generally well Hal and the others continued to march.

If we keep going, it will be the castle town of Fradia in another twenty days.

During the same period, between the Castle of Fredia and the King

Bergan was drawing on the surviving representatives of the Possian and Sedenian tribes.

"King Achillosius leads 25,000 soldiers from Cilentium, heading north, no worries."

Bergan, sitting beside an unmistakable empty throne, told the two village chiefs standing in the front.

The two village chiefs wrap their worn clothes around weary expressions, and the ends of their sleeves and the like can be burnt.

The mayor of the Possian village slowly opened his mouth, engraving a wound on his arm that was clearly due to the sword.

"Thank you for that, but can you defeat the Halemians with the soldiers of the Imperial Collapse? Our warriors have been wiped out."

"... besides women and children have been plundered, men have been slaughtered, as have we now ended up as tribes"

When the Sedenian village chief complains in a crying voice, Bergan unwittingly shuts up.

From Bergan's point of view, it is two of the northern nations that did not even attempt to respond to the call of the Silentium Alliance, nor did they recognise King Akircius' succession to the throne.

Just because the Halemians attacked you doesn't mean you need help.

It is Bergan's opinion that it is now too late where it has come to cry, and as a Cilentium alliance it seems cold but could have been ignored.

But the allied lord Cilentium and Hal, who led it, moved immediately to rescue the two tribes.

In conjunction with the Fried Cilentium faction led by Bergan, requests have also been made to the Argentine and Oran Berefes, located in the vicinity, to send out warriors, and these two tribes are starting to prepare warriors, driven by Hal's will.

In addition to the 3,000 warriors that Bergan also had at his disposal, he had successfully assembled Fried warriors and gathered 5,000 new warriors.

There should still be more warriors in a little while.

"Rest slowly and go, we will not abandon those in need"

Needless to say, the refugees of the two tribes live provisionally on the outskirts of Fradia.

At first, Bergan, who just thought he was going to receive refugees in Cilentium, was surprised by the instruction to let the refugees in Hull stay in Fladia, but then looked round at the supplies sent one after the other by Cilentium.

Although I was prepared to bear the corresponding burden as a fradia, it was Bergan who knew once again the strength of the officials of Cilentium who arranged this, almost enough with the supplies and food sent by Cilentium.

Tarpeius has begun to distribute food equitably and construct temporary dwellings and facilities on the outskirts of Fredia, one after the other, differentiating between the supplies arriving.

Together, preparations had also begun for an establishment where the legions would garrison, and Talpeius remained restless, still moving vigorously around.

"... I'm not listening to you say that, Palace of Bergan. We're asking if we can put you under King Akircius's protection."

When the village chief of the Possia said, the village chief of the Sedenia also hitched a ride and nodded.

Having seen how it was, Bergan gently learned to be angry.

"Don't get me wrong, King Akircius has no support for his succession to the throne, and he has no right to help you if you refuse to join the Alliance? That's what we've been traveling all the way out here to get soldiers. Let me remind you that such a shameless request from you is strange in itself."

………

"Oh, I don't care if you say that..."

In response to the unexpected harsh tone of Bergan, the two poor in words of reply let their eyes swim.

It would now be the late chiefs and elders who decided not to participate, but they were definitely among those who agreed to it.

"Either way, it is King Akircius who will judge you. If you have time to say all I can, think of an explanation for not joining the Alliance!

To Bergan's dialogue, which also resembled a harsh scolding, the two village chiefs finally turned downwards.
