Border Guardian Hal Akircius

Chapter 12: The Battle of Cilentium's Winter/North of the Year (Part 3)

Three weeks later, during King Fradia Castle

A camp was set up on the outskirts of Fredia, and the Cilentium army entered the standby position once.

Only the generals enter Fredia Castle to consult with the assembled tribes.

This time it was positioned as a defensive war against the Fried Cilentium faction, and besides the Cilentium army, Alpesio chief Gatti had already entered Fradia, leading the Alpesio and Argentine warriors 12000, in addition to the Berefes Randeles rushing to lead the Oran warrior 6000.

We gathered among kings in the

Border Guardian Hal Akircius

Dekimus Adamantius, Commander of the 22nd Legion

Berius, head of the 23rd Legion.

Quintus Werth, Commander of the Temporary Legion

Fredia Castle Cost Bergan

Alpecio Chief Gatti

Berefes Chieftain Randeles

of seven.

Prior to that, a map of Fradia's neighborhood, where Hal had requested production, is placed.

At the top of the opening, Hal asked Bergan.

"I'm an enemy Halemian... do you know who I'm leading?

"All I'm saying is that the tribal chief who leads it will probably be someone named Bagan. Even the Halemians are a faction living in the south, with 300,000 to 400,000 ethnic groups, but have never been more aggressive before."

"After all, is King Alford's death sounding..."

In response to Bergan's words, Adamantius gives his opinion, but Bergan denies some of it.

"No, I don't think that's all. Rumors should have arrived a long time ago, but the lack of movement before is proof to the left, and the movement is too linear for the Halemians. I've already told King Akircius, but I think he has a guide."

"Prince Danford?

Unexpectedly, to Hal, Bergan responds with a face like he chewed up a bitter bug.

"... unfortunately, I can't think of anything else. Perhaps it is because we are aiming for this fradia..."

"What is happening to the Ereil River beyond this? Is crossing the river easy?

"No, beyond this, the only crossing point is the confluence of the tributary with the Ineon River. Halemians basically don't like water, so they don't swim and cross rivers. You can't cross the Ineon River because the cliffs will continue upstream for a while."

When Quintus shows a part of the map and asks, Bergan answers by placing his hand at a point slightly over the edge from what Quintus shows, and carries on the words further.

"Not to mention, if Danford is guiding us, we should know the crossing point. You'll probably show up at this rendezvous point. This is a hilly terrain with the widest shallow waters at the shortest distance to reach Fradia."

"Definitely. Okay, the barbarians are on their way there. He was in the position. Cliffonham's great man seemed to explain a lot. Explained that crossing the river was good, and the barbarian chief was convinced."

What suddenly appeared was a maple that had previously been conducting reconnaissance with the Shady.

I only attended one person as a relative on Hull's side at the wedding, so I accept the maple without any particular surprise because everyone on this occasion knows their faces.

"Maple, you're tired"

"Yeah, and Brother Hal"

Making a happy smile at Hal's words of labor, Maple says as he walks straight to the map, placing his sneaky fingers where Bergan showed them and moving them.

"The barbarians are moving along the river and out of here. I'm taking a break now, but it hasn't moved here lately. Wouldn't this hill be a good place to build a position? It's appropriately far from the river, high and low enough, the ground's fine, we can put down heavy weapons. It's hard to carry because there's no way."

Now we know the enemy's destination.

"... Quintus, Mr. Adamantius. Build a temporary position on the banks of this river and try to gather as many enemies as you can to this hill."

Copy that, sir.

Copy that.

Quintus and Adamantius immediately in response to Hull's orders.

Hal then turned his face to three people: Bergan, Randeles and Gatti.

"How many tribal warriors are there?

"7,000 can move in the Fried Warriors"

"The Oran Warrior of Bellefest is 6,000."

"The warriors of Argento and Alpecio are 1200."

Hal chuckles, making sure there are a total of 25,000 tribal warriors.

"Now I would like to ask all the tribal warriors to finish"

A week later, the Ereil River tributary, on the banks of the Ineon

A large group of Halemians, who ravaged the inhabited areas of the Possian and Sedenian communities, defeated the Rolfurt warriors and swelled to 400,000 with an addition, approached the banks of the Ineon river in the Ereil river tributary by chasing and scattering the anti-Silentium Fried who tried to resist on the path.

If you go beyond this river for a while, there is Castle Fradia, and beyond it there is nothing to block the Halemians to Cilentium other than streams, hills, forests and wetlands anymore.

But once the steps were stopped.

"Hey, what's that? I didn't hear there was such a thing."

"I don't know... Damn, you borderline guard, you're ahead of me!

Danford, anxious to ask questions that included Bagan's anger, manages to say so so so that the spearhead of anger doesn't point at him.

What a group of Halemians saw as they proceeded slowly, delightfully with plunder, rape, assault, arson and destruction, was a position where the flag of Cilentium, erected on the riverbank hills of the Ineon River, flies.

The shrubs that were thriving on the hillside were cut off, with a straight sloped slope peeking into the peeled ground, on which there is a fence made of round wood.

Beneath it, albeit slightly, backwoods are provided, perhaps due to the terrain, in an anomalous form with a concave central part, even the gate is installed in its central part.

"... Is there nowhere else to cross the river?

"When you can't swim, there won't be..."

Danford to think a little about Bagan's question before answering.

It doesn't taste good to lead the Halemians upstream, as they enter the Flink power zone, which also takes care of the bend shape.

The promise made to my uncle that the Halemians would not lead me to the land of the Flink tribe.

If we go downstream, we'll have to clash with the new Cliffonam people again, and after winning this battle, we won't have any more Cliffonam people down for Danford who wants to be Alford's successor.

When Bagan nods his tongue, he calls warriors and gives orders to prepare them for battle, ignoring the Danford he had in mind.

"It doesn't seem so sturdy... I'll smash it and push it through"

"Hey, no matter how many positions you say, this is a big army, right? You won't need to get ready again. You're going to have to trample that little crowd right away."

"... it's not time yet"

Bagan, the Halemian, did not even move into provocative Danford's words, and responded while sitting calmly on the stump.

Danford says in a strong tone without even trying to hide his frustration with such a Bagan attitude.

"... if you do something so long, Cliffonam's reinforcements will rush you?

I guess I felt something disgusting about that word, Bagan opened her mouth when she burst her yellow teeth out of between her beards and laughed.

"You... you saw me break four tribes by the time I got here? Cliffonam without Alford, not our opponent."

"... that's not..."

"Want to give it a try?

Danford, who once solicited, saw Bagan regain the sword of his extraction, was obviously frightened and lagged behind.

"Yes, no, fine..."

On Danford's back, who left the scene in a hurry, the laughter of the Halemian chiefs and warrior chiefs was not hesitant, but Danford blued his face and walked back to his formation without turning around.

A bunch of Halemians, cage carriages.

Dietrinthe, the daughter of the Sedenian chief, had been tied to the crude line with the other women and pushed into the cage carriage.

The cage carriage was also originally used for transporting livestock in the settlement of Sedenia.

The settlement was ravaged by the defeat of a warrior regiment led by his father along with a warrior regiment of the Possian tribe, without grieving the death of his father or brother in battle.

There was no time for resistance or escape, and without the skill to do so, the settlement was quickly deprived of food and money, the man was killed, the woman was offended and finally plundered with her children.

The house of the settlement was set on fire in the middle of it, and everything disappeared into smoke and ash.

Women and children who were not murdered are tied to pearls with rope, loaded into cage carriages and transported.

Probably sell it somewhere after it settles down.

Dietrinthe spiritually came because one family member or friend after another, acquaintances or people living in settlements, were killed in front of him than the humiliation or assault he suffered.

No meal or water was given, the manure was left in a drooling state, and I lived every day staring into the hollow with tearful eyes, just like the other caught ones, but when I returned and looked at them, the situation around me had changed.

The Halemians are moving in a hurry around.

I've never seen a Halemian look other than a dirty, nasty grin before, but I find it somewhat hilarious to see him wielding a sword with a harsh look on his face.

But from Dietrinthe's mouth, he just had no strength to breathe and it was over.

When I listened to the words of the Halemians, who were in my ears, I could even understand with my head that it was as if the enemy had appeared.

"Enemies...?

Do you have enemies or something against that scary Halemian?

Blurring about that in a corner of my head that still doesn't clear, the carriage stops with the shock of cancer.

In the sight of Dietrinthe, who turned forward as he was rocked by the shock, entered the position where fences and backwoods were erected along the hill across the river and the soldiers in silver glowing armor.

"What?"

Several people react to the pompous spilled Dietrinthe words and look forward.

And one of them replied pompous.

"... Border Protection Officer..."

"... Henki noodles?

For the first time, Dietrinthe, not working but interested, looked up at the group.

At the same time, the Cilentium Army Headquarters

Hal set up a formation on the riverbank hills on the banks of the Ineon River to show the attitude of taking the Halemians straight from the front.

Halemians who see the Silentium armies lined up opposite the shore repeat the provocation with roar and oddity, but the Silentium armies do not make it slight.

"... really big army... no, that's a huge crowd..."

Unexpectedly, it was Belius who was appointed head of the 23rd Legion Corps.

The former warrior chief of the Theoneus tribe, who had initially shown difficulty in introducing imperial methods of warfare, took the results in simulated combat sincerely and since then he has worked and studied twice as hard to learn methods of warfare and command.

Since he was originally a chief, reading and writing of letters contributed greatly, and some professors of Altrius grew to no lesser degree than the empire's officers.

Although the 21st Regiment had decided to graduate directly from it, the head of the 23rd Regiment was vacant, so when Hal asked Altrius to nominate a suitable person, Belius' name was raised.

Hal ordered Belius to head the Legion of the 23rd Legion after interviewing him to ascertain his will.

Hal replies with a nod to the words of Belius.

"Oh, I know it's the U.S.S. crowd, but that number is not insulting, it must be led by someone with a lot of control."

"Hehe, it wasn't even in a long military life that you looked like such a great enemy, your arms will ring!

Hal opens his mouth as he leaks a bitter smile at the brave words of the old general, says Adamantius, the 22nd Legion Commander, who smiles with a blur and a samurai tremor.

"How are the soldiers?

"The Imperial soldiers are a little fed up by the barbarians they see for the first time, but, well, as usual,"

"The Northern Legion soldiers are the majority of those who interact directly with the Halemians when they were freedom fighters or tribal fighters, okay, calm down"

Adamantius and Belius tell Hull about the condition of the soldiers, respectively.

"Really, morale is fine"

"Whatever."

"Of course."

Hal turned his gaze back to a large group of Halemians when he nodded at the two reluctant Legion leaders slapping him in the chest.

"But... when I said barbarian, I thought I'd cross the river without a sight... but I guess it's still led by quite a few"

"Um, no doubt, you're going to see how it goes"

Adamantius also agrees with Hal's words.

At first, the Silentium army assumed to intercept the Halemians crossing the river without sight, but the Halemians are not showing how to cross the river now because they saw this formation.

"Thanks to this, we can take time to install secret and heavy weapons."

Such is Quintus, who leads the Legion of Cilentium.

While I say I want time, I have already completed 70% of the installation of heavy weapons, leaving only later the installation of secret weapons developed by Swilius, but that is also almost complete.

There was also resistance from the anti-Silentium factions of the Freed tribe, and the arrival of the Halemians was far slower than expected, so that the Corps of Engineers had already finished trapping and rigging them all over the river.

Hal snaps pompously.

"... would you like to provoke"

"How?

"I'll use my bow"

Adamantius and Belius hesitated to Hull's words, which followed.

Hull, a good bowman, and if he fails to show his martial arts here, he will be wounded by the fame and authority he gained by defeating King Alford at the corner.

Most importantly, the Halemians do not always come on board with that provocation.

"I don't know who the Border Guardian is, but isn't that impossible? You won't get an arrow to the opposite shore."

"Why don't you attack with heavy weapons?

Each voiced his opinion, but Hal shook his head left and right.

"You can't leave those guys alone in the wild for so long. If we don't settle as soon as possible, there's a risk that the Halemians will start going south in chains… and if we suddenly make a powerful attack with heavy weapons, we may get scared and come this way and run away and scatter. That doesn't make any sense, so, well, watch."

Hal is equipped with a group island-style bamboo that he brings and strings on his big bow.

Using the strongest string ever, the work proceeded with caution by identifying the limits to which the bow would not be damaged.

Place leather gloves in both hands and finish making sure the string tension and strength is actually played or the bow is pulled.

"Now, if those guys start crossing the river, it's war, and I'll give you a message just before, but please do as you're supposed to do."

Hal left the word behind with a smile and went to the front line.
