Border Guardian Hal Akircius

Chapter 12: The Battle of Cilentium's Winter/North of the Year (Part 10)

The next day, on the north bank of the Ineon River, the Cilentium army barracks

"... well, my predecessor's neck"

I heard that information from the worn out maple, Hal said gently holding down the maple shoulder.

"You've had a rough time, rest well"

"Brother Hal......"

Fleeing from Fredia Castle and shaking off the chaser's attack, Maple and the Shady flew their horses through the night, returning to the barracks.

The other shady returned to the refuge settlement to inform the rest of his companions suddenly.

Each of the Shades is supposed to hide in the vicinity of Fredia Castle and hit each location to gather information until the march of the Cilentium army.

"We march dignified and front-cut, the skinny won't work for the predecessor. Fortunately, the opponent's Danford army needs less than 3,000, and we need 50,000 soldiers against it, so let's siege Fradia. As long as we have a siege, we can get supplies from the rear Cilentium."

After seeing Maple at the medical office, Hal told him that he would return to the barracks headquarters in the central part of the barracks.

Reports from Maple have already been heard by everyone except Hal, who was inspecting the refugees.

"Yes, Lord Altrius, there is no exchanging when you are surrounded without any preparation."

Adamantius backed Hull's opinion.

"Are all the tribal warriors okay? The battle is going to be prolonged..."

"The Frieds are fine, they're all warriors"

"We don't have a problem either."

"Bellefest warriors do not retreat..."

Hull then makes clear to the Chiefs that they are all willing to join the battle for the Siege of Fradia when they confirm their will to serve.

"Tomorrow, then, we will march towards Fradia"

Quietly, but forcefully, everyone nodded silently as Hal declared.

Three days later, Fredia Castle.

"Master Danford! The Imperial bastards are attacking us!

"Hey, what!?

Danford finally learned of the attack of the Cilentium army with an infusion from a warrior who was guarding the castle gate.

Looking out from the castle tower in a hurry, Danford was stunned.

It distracts me by distracting the 50,000 large armies that surround Fradia with no gaps.

A voice emanated from the black box pulling that nasty Danford spirit back.

"Lord... were you not releasing your scouts? I told you to collect and put it away without so much information... '

"Oh, I can't afford that! There are only 2,500 warriors."

When Danford raised his excused scream, Altrius in the black box returned the words as if they were frightened.

"It's not a question of saying that, it's fundamental to the battle to know how the enemy is coming out and how powerful it is to gather information. As far as this is concerned, the enemy has probably beaten the barbarians completely. Forty to fifty thousand troops have barely diminished, so it's not easy to break them if they're surrounded by no gaps like this?

"Oh, I did what you said!! Take responsibility."

"Responsibility, is it me?

An unexpected Danford dialogue voices a black box of surprises.

"Yes! I rode because you said you could win if you were right. If you can't win, you take responsibility."

"... what do you mean, I'm not doing what I say? Have you often spoiled the city's inhabitants?" Did you try to keep people from dying? Have you taken in court officers and enemy warriors without executing them in darkness?

The next thing I know, it sounds like I don't hesitate to reprimand Danford for what he said.

They were all words given to Danford by Altrius in the black box as advice, but Danford did not keep them as one.

Rather, everything we have done is the opposite measure.

Danford screamed when he got poked where the pain was.

"Shut up, I'm on my own! What are you gonna do! Come on, say what?"

"It's Danford... honorable death sometimes needs to be chosen."

"Don't be ridiculous, if you can't, I'll run away!

………

"What are we going to do next!

Did you give up completely disputing Danford's unscrupulous claims and logic, the black box, silent for a moment, finally resonated with such flavorful voices as tannins with Danford rocking the box.

'There's nothing like it. Fight in the castle. There's nothing else. "

"And beat the castle to death on the pillow? Don't be silly!"

"I'm not kidding... let's not forget about PR to the surrounding tribes anymore?

………

In Dunford's silence, the black box found out that this idiot prince hadn't struck any hand after Fradia's recapture.

Despite the fact that he gave scattered advice, it is.

"No way, Lord, have you kept the neighborhood informed of the news of the fall of Fradia?... I didn't know you were going to be so stupid anymore, that's what I did, so I often told the king... '

"Shut up! What's done is done is done, say what to do now eh!!

The black box of sermons blocked the stinking words, and Danford screamed again.

Stop arguing and a black box spins the word.

"... if you want to escape, that's fine... but you need to plant it, don't bother your enemies."

"Where are you running to?!

"Siluha in the South Be Good"

To the words of the black box, Danford answers after a while of thinking.

"... How's the Empire?

"Perhaps that would be good for the Lord… if he were a nobleman of the Empire, he would ponder many ways of using the Lord. But all the roads go to enemies, besides having a place. Your itinerary to Siluha is far away. '

"... right"

Danford made a slight sinking voice in a black box with a loud voice.

But my face is hatefully distorted.

Indeed, the black box says that the Empire must pass through the Cilentium and the northern border post that became the Colonia Meridieto, and the northern Great Mountains loophole is not as steep as 2,500 soldiers.

It is safer to escape to Siluha than to go to the Empire.

"Either way, fight for a while, as I say, or you won't get out of here."

"... ok"

It was Danford, who could not erase his face like he had chewed down a bitter bug, whilst nodding at the words of a black box.

Fradia, in front of the main gate.

The city walls of Fradia, once made of wood, have been renovated into fine stone objects.

The castle gate was now wooden, but had been replaced with a sturdy object with copper plates attached to the main points.

When Hull and the others besieged Fradia, they entered the survey to build a field position.

Suddenly the front door of Fradia opens.

It was more than 1,000 Freed Cavalry that popped up.

And the Fri-Do cavalry has stormed all at once towards the front of the 21st legion, which has just arrived in formation and is not ready.

Easily pushing through the frontline of the hastily fumbling 21st Regiment and kicking the Northern Regiment soldiers, Freed Cavalry returns to Fradia with a gentle heel as Hal hangs the decree and begins to clean up the Regiment's mess.

Similar attacks were launched at other castle gates, and the Cilentium army fell into temporary chaos.

Then, for a few moments, the Cilentium army continued to be plagued by cavalry raids that were carried out unexpectedly, forcing them to fight unwillingly without being able to set up as many formations as they thought and without being able to proceed with surveys or position creation.

Just before the last cavalry assault, Fradia's main entrance

In front of the main entrance to Fredia Castle, there were more than 2,500 cavalry men led by Danford.

As the black box stands, the enemy appears to lack arrowballs, and has not carried out an imperial-style anti-cavalry attack that pours arrows and hand-throwed arrows like storms against the cavalry assault that Danford dared.

With little damaging damage to the Danford Army, the Cilentium Army is in disarray and still unstoppable.

The black box speaks secretly.

"If we keep our hands on this, the Imperial Army will build up a field position. In that case, it is impossible to escape. If we're going to get out of here, put it down now. There's nothing else. Now, on the contrary, is the time. '

"Hey, are you sure you're okay? We're dealing with 50,000!

Danford makes a screaming voice, but a calm voice echoes from the black box.

'Don't worry, say 50,000 great armies. Try to surround the great castles like Fradia and the formation will be thin. Depending on the part, it is only about the same as this one. And I snapped him around with a scattered cavalry, and his enemies wouldn't be able to narrow their aim and create a gap. "

"Well, okay..."

"So, where are you going? Is that an empire? Is that Siluha? Or is that an east photograph?

Danford cut a short handsome bag for the persistent questioning of the black box.

"I'm going to Siluha... but you have something to say!

'... what?

"Escape to the Flink tribe, draw in the Halemians, recapture Fradia, you did help, but you're loud, and I don't care about that gut trying to make me do everything. Besides, it's not helping at all this time!

'... there is no other way, it is only man who moves the world. First of all, my neck is all I got, right? There's no way I can move on my own, and I've given you a lot of advice, right? Is it not the Lord who did not obey?'

"Shut up! You created this predicament!

………

Danford looks forward with satisfaction, looking at a stalled black box.

He thought I missed it.

But in the black box, I was so stupid.

"Oh my God, I expected it because it was the son of Alford, but it is a total devourer. I still missed the selection... but I didn't have a choice... so what do we do next... '

"All right, let the fire go!

At the direction of Danford, advised by Altrius, the horseback riders with pine lights set fire to all over Fradia.

The people were wolfed by the fire, which burst into flames, and shouted and screamed everywhere.

Men who are beaten down trying to stop arson, women with children who can be dialed to horses where they escape from their homes, and men of peoples who are slashed and abandoned by warriors trying to take up Matsui.

The city was flooded with flames burning at the people fleeing, and the castle town of Fradia was swallowed by flames with a faint momentum.

"Hmm... let's go!

The main entrance is opened by order of Danford.

Suddenly he caught sight of the Cilentium army rounding his eyes on a burning fladia, and Danford grinned nastyly.

"Huh, don't be surprised... Assault!

Danford opened the main entrance and fled to the southeast with a harsh assault.

Even as they were upset by the appearance of the burning castle town of Fradia, Hal and the others stood ready to storm the same cavalry, but when the 2500 cavalry changed direction, they broke through the department protected by the tribal warriors, those without spears or other anti-cavalry gear, and went through the siege net at once.

Originally decided to be a Halemian opponent, so the Tribal Warriors also had many well-rounded sword-equipped people, and it was fortunate to Danford that those with spears were sparse.

Danford, as Altrius instructed, packed his distance at once with a bold change of direction, pushing and breaking the sword-equipped tribal warriors, and fleeing as they were.

Hal rushed out the chase cavalry, but suddenly didn't think he was planning an escape on the first day, so the response turned to the rear.

Besides, we have to do something about the burning fradia first.

Hal left the pursuit of Danford to the cavalry only, and the main unit had to turn to extinguishing the fire and rescuing the citizens.

Hal and the others, who had managed to contain the fire and carried out civil rescue operations.

Some time later the cavalry that was in pursuit came back to flee.

On his way into the woods, he was ambushed by surprise.

After being attacked from three directions and receiving reports of a warrior chief who had fled to his death, Hal felt the smell of Altrius, not Danford, for the good conduct of the operation.

"My predecessor can't help it... it's hard to do."

"Looks like we measured our escape to Siluha in the right direction"

Quintus adds the report, as he responds to Hull's soliloquy.

Either way, the Halemians were destroyed and burned, but Fradia recaptured them.

It is an inexorable victory, although some parts are not refreshed by allowing Danford to escape and the revealing presence of Altrius' neck.

Hal paid off and dissolved the strained tribal warrior as soon as he entered Fradia.

Gatti and Randeljes returned to their home base, and only the Silentium army was to garrison in Fradia for some time.

The city was badly hurt by the fire and needed manpower to rebuild, so Hal decided to use his legions of soldiers to rebuild for a while.

Hal immediately hustles about the recapture of Fredia to the surrounding tribes, sends a missionary cavalry to draw attention to Danford, also frees those who were imprisoned in the dungeons, and offers condolences to the murdered court officers and warriors.

Hull's quick steps gradually helped Fradia regain her composure and begin to rebuild.
