Chapter 112: Outside the Treasure Location
The Survivors got excited.
Some fired signal flares, some lit torches, and others started calling for help on the area channel.
Celula and Raphael sat inside the cockpit, watching the flood of distress messages. Their faces were full of cold smiles.
"These idiots. They came here to rob us, and now they expect us to save them? How naive," Celula said with a pout, showing no intention of helping at all.
Raphael nodded. "They won’t last long under an attack this big. Let’s get out of here fast, or those giant Conches will come after us."
Raphael called out to Toti: "Full throttle! Speed it up a bit more!"
Toti yelled back: "You got it!"
He stepped on the power switch, and the steam engine in the cabin started running fast.
The whistle went woo-woo-woo without stopping.
The "Daddy" Cannon suddenly sped up and shot away into the distance.
Franky and Nami saw this happen.
They had been hoping for help from that ship, but instead, the other crew just sped away.
The Captains and Survivors were all disheartened.
"We’re all human. Would it kill them to help? They’re so cold-blooded."
"I hope they run into monsters just like the ones we’re facing."
"Without their help, what are we gonna do? We’re really going to die now."
Kevin stood on the deck, quietly watching the battle burning in the distance. His voice was cold as he said: "How come I haven’t seen that damn bitch Bella?"
Kevin had been using Fish Fiend to keep an eye on everything around him.
But he still hadn’t seen Bella’s luxury yacht.
Then, through Fish Fiend’s eyes, he spotted Justin fighting on a strange ship.
What was that idiot doing here?
Did he get separated from Bella and Joseph?
With doubt in his mind, Kevin closed his eyes and concentrated, sensing the coordinates of the Survivors around him.
Soon, a few bright dots appeared not far away.
Using his [Navigator] Talent, Kevin sensed that Joseph, Bella, Keston, and an even stronger and more terrifying enemy were nearby.
Was it because of these Conches that they had abandoned Justin?
Thinking about this, Kevin grinned from ear to ear. "Interesting."
Since Justin had been abandoned by his own brother, he must be full of anger right now.
Kevin was more than happy to make things difficult for Bella and Joseph.
So without hesitation, he summoned his Dragon Form Mist Phantom.
Then he summoned an Elite Fish Fiend and handed it two RPG Launchers, two Vulcan Cannons, and two boxes of Grenades.
"Go clear a path for them. Don’t let them die," Kevin said, pointing straight at Justin in the distance.
Once the Elite Fish Fiend had its target, it turned around, jumped onto the back of the Dragon Form Mist Phantom, and flew off into the distance.
Franky, Nami, and Justin had already given up hope of getting any help from the "Daddy" Cannon.
But on the other end of the radio, all he heard was static.
"Damn it!" Justin threw the radio into the sea and kicked a nearby barrel away.
He kept venting his anger.
Finally, out of the corner of his eye, he spotted a luxury yacht and a pirate Spectral Corsair Vessel sailing away about six or seven nautical miles away.
They had never once come to help or rescue him.
"Are you serious? They just left me behind?" Justin muttered, his face turning dark.
But before he could let out all his frustration, shouts behind him snapped him back to reality.
Because Kevin’s Dragon Form Mist Phantom was so well-known, some Survivors had already recognized that the ship that just helped them was Kevin’s.
The Mist Phantom and the Elite Fish Fiend were Kevin’s summons.
Realizing this, Franky and Nami looked at each other, their faces full of mixed emotions.
"Are we still going after Kevin? He just saved us," Franky said, looking conflicted.
Nami grabbed a wooden stick and smacked Franky hard on the head. "Idiot! We’ve lost so many people. How can we go back empty-handed?"
She paused, her voice dropping. "Even if it’s just to give the dead some closure, we need to get enough resources from Kevin."
The other Captains heard this and raised their weapons, shouting in agreement.
"That’s right! Kevin doesn’t deserve to have so many resources. And Ms. Stephanie shouldn’t be kept locked up by him anymore."
"We can just take his weapons and resources. We don’t have to kill him."
"Yeah! We’ll take his woman, have our fun, and then leave her behind. That should be fair, right?"
Justin listened to the crowd’s chatter and realized that the one who had just helped them break out was Kevin.
The moment Justin thought about how Bella and Joseph were also chasing Kevin, he gritted his teeth and raised his voice. "I say we go after Kevin too. I’ll help you fight him."
As soon as the Captains heard that Justin was willing to help, they all started praising him.
After all, Justin had just fought like a demon. His terrifying combat power had left a deep impression on every Captain there.
Plus, Justin had been in the top ten of the rankings for a long time. The Captains figured that even if he couldn’t beat Kevin, he could at least hold his own against him.
After all, they still had the numbers advantage.
Even though over thirty ships had been reduced to just one, the Captains and other Survivors had all made it out alive.
Counting Franky, Nami, and Justin, there were now over seventy crew members on board.
"Seventy against one Kevin. The advantage is ours!"
"That’s right! Down with Kevin! Take back Ms. Stephanie!"
The Captains’ battle cries echoed across the sea.
Franky whistled and steered the ship, speeding toward the direction Kevin had just disappeared in.
After a full night of sailing, the "Daddy" Cannon finally arrived near a strange island.
"We’re here!" Toti shouted, waking up the girls who had been resting.
Celula looked at the coordinates on the treasure map and carefully compared them to the surrounding sea charts.
Soon, excitement spread across her face. "This is it! The treasure is buried on this island."
Kevin observed the island’s terrain and said in a low voice, "Let’s not rush to land. Uncle Toti, circle the island first."
"You got it!" Toti turned the wheel hard and took everyone around the island a few times.
Kevin and the girls kept watching the island’s surroundings.
When they saw fish swimming by and seabirds flying overhead, they all breathed a sigh of relief.
"Looks like this isn’t some monster’s lair," Kevin said quietly.
The moment Bella and her group spotted Franky and his crew, they immediately recognized them as the ones who had fled from the battle earlier.
"You lot actually made it out alive?" Bella sneered as she drew her weapon, not backing down an inch.
Bang bang bang!
The two sides exchanged fire without hesitation. Sparks flew everywhere, and bullets and spells clashed in the air.
Aaron and Keston stood in front of Bella, holding up shields formed from dark energy, blocking the rain of bullets.
"Tsk, those guys from before are back again," Keston said with a hint of impatience in his voice. "And it looks like they’ve teamed up with that Justin guy."
Aaron glanced coldly at Justin, who was sizing them up from a distance. "That guy’s not easy to deal with. We can’t afford to be careless."
Justin, seeing the battle raging on, sneered and stepped forward.
He raised his hand, and a ball of surging energy gathered in his palm. "Bella, Joseph, I didn’t expect you two to be so spineless—running away and leaving me to die. Now it’s time to settle this score."
He hurled the energy ball straight at Bella and her group.
Boom!
The explosion sent sand and rocks flying. Bella and her team quickly dodged, but the shockwave still knocked a few of them off balance.
On the other side of the island, Kevin, who had just led the girls ashore, heard the commotion and immediately stopped in his tracks.
"What’s that noise?" Nova asked warily.
Kevin frowned, his Observation Haki spreading out. "There are people fighting on the other side of the island."
"Fighting?" Celula was startled. "Could someone else have found this island too?"
Kevin’s eyes darkened. "It’s not just found it. It looks like they’re following us."
